If you do not want your nails to bleed and not get an attitude from the staff do not go to this nail salon. First of all she gave me an attitude when she told me a WRONG color for my nails. My service was a simple DIP extension with a light pink color and she could not give me that. Apart from just that she made me bleed and gave me an attitude about it. On top of all of that the powder got all over the sides of my nails and she didnt bother to clean it before setting it so it looks like my fingers are so much more WIDER than they actually are. Very friendly staff. I love going to nail places where they take the time to treat you like a human being-- it's just not worth it to me otherwise. I liked, too, that they told me how long to stay under the dryers and when to press the button for another cycle-- most places just leave you to navigate it alone and you're just sitting there like, "can I go?" My nails did chip after a few days, but that's really standard (especially on your dominant hand) with regular nail polish manicures. My only recommendation from other nail places is maybe have a movie on in the background-- the news is just so hard to watch these days, but it is better than nail salons that play SVU on a loop. And maybe try to find some long-lasting nail polish like Dazzle, that supposedly lasts 2 weeks. read more

I'm very disappointed at my experience here. I was rushed through my service and left with poorly done nails. I had a gel mani removal, and then a regular mani/pedi. All of this was done in 60 mins....by 3 different technicians. A typical pedi alone is usually 1 hour....this speaks to how rushed my service was. I came in around 10am on a Saturday morning as a walk in. They were full at the time and was asked to come back at 12pm, which was fine, it was a small shop, and busy. I confirmed a gel removal and regular mani/pedi and left. I came back at 12, and was welcomed back, and asked to pick out colors. They didn't confirm the service but they recognized me so I assumed they remembered. I was asked to the mani station first, but I didn't think anything of it because all the pedi stations were full and I needed my gel removed, but halfway through, I looked down at my feet and my tech commented that the color still looks good and its not time for a pedi yet...at that point I confirmed that I DID want a pedi and asked if there was still time. Instead of being honest and saying they forgot/overbooked/whatever else, she said yes there is still time, and began to rush my manicure. She ended up cutting me while trimming my cuticles, and didn't say anything about it, just ignored it. Then before painting, she asked me to move to the newly opened pedi station, and said someone else would be doing the pedi....what I didn't expect was for them to pain my mani portion in the pedi chair as well. Technician 2 came over, and started asking to paint my mani while I was in the pedi chair. She was also rushing, gave me really streaky nails, and a blotchy layer. She didn't really talk to me other than asking for my hand, and she looked at her phone multiple times while doing my nails. Then, technician 3 came along to do my pedicure. Ironically, the pedi portion was much more normal and what I expected in service level. I wasn't rushed through the pedi portion of it. If they really didn't have time to fit me in, I'd much rather they let me know and come back and receive better service, rather than this. I'm frustrated that I paid to get my nails done, and I left with a manicure that I could've done better myself at home. I don't think this level of service would have been any different if I had made an appointment days before, I saw others come in with appointments that were also rushed as well, though maybe their experience was better. read more

When the petals of my feet begin to resemble an overgrown lawn, I know it's time. This is my nail salon. This is the place I trust. Unlike any other nail salon that I've been to, they offer hot stone massage for an extra $5. This alone is so rejuvenating that you'll feel like you had a massage AND a pedicure by the time you head home. But the deluxe pedicure is only $10 more and includes the hot stone massage, so you might as well go for the extra goodness. Extra massage. Extra scrub. Extra soft feet afterwards. I liked them so much that I bought gift certificates for the teachers at my kid's daycare because I want others to know: this is the SPOT! I've never had an infected nail, and am very happy to recommend. Only downside is the massage chairs seem a bit worn. A few pillows could make it a bit more comfortable. read more

I've been here twice... both times were unpleasant. I thought that the first experience may have been a fluke bc all of the reviews on here are so good - maybe I just had the one bad nail tech? So I came a second time. Both times the nail tech cut my feet, drawing blood, and used ice cold water, even after I asked her to warm it up a bit. The second time, the nail tech pulled the facecloth from under my feet to wipe the blood up and wipe my toe down then put it back down... and after she was done with the tools that drew blood she put them back in her case, no disinfectant or washing, then used them on the next person. I came to Cambridge Nails and Skin Spa on Tuesday, 2/19/19. I called around 11am and made an appointment for 5:30pm same day. I had a full-set of acrylics (done at another nail salon) and they needed to be filled, and I needed one nail to be replaced. I arrived around 5:20pm, and was told to pick out my nail color. After doing so, I was seated at a nail station, but a nail tech didn't come over to start my nails until after 5:45pm. That is what brings this down to a 4-star for me, just because I did make a reservation and still had to wait. Granted, they were definitely busy and it is a small shop. However, the nail experience itself was lovely, and I am IN LOVE with the way they turned out! My nail tech was very gentle with my nails. She made sure to apply enough of the acrylic gel to make sure my nails were all on tight. I got gel nail polish, which definitely upped the price. It was $41, which was a bit more than what I anticipated for a fill, but not crazy expensive. The shape of my nails is BEAUTIFUL, I honestly think they've never looked better. She also took her time, despite the fact they were busy, which I really appreciate. Management changed about a year or two ago and with new management came new text, new prices, and subpar service. During manicures I have been cut on my cuticles, issues with Polish chipping, and random charges that had to be corrected. I've been coming to Cambridge Nails for over a decade through multiple changes in ownership (I'm talking about the one on Mass Ave in Cambridge, not to be confused with the one on Cambridge Street in Boston). Just met the new owner, Lina, today, and got a pedicure. Got the new phone number from Yelp, called for an appointment on a Wednesday morning, and was able to get in there in 15 minutes. No wait when I arrived. The owner was replacing and labeling all nail polishes, and recommended some new colors. The spa still looks the same as with the previous owners, but a little cleaner or less cluttered at least. Ina gave me the pedicure. She spent more time than most on my feet and toe nails. I was not in a rush so I appreciated that. I wore my sneakers in, so the owner sent me home in some styrofoam flip flops. I would've bought some cheap flip flops from them if they had a size other than 11. Don't know how long the polish will last, but all in all I had a pleasant experience. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR DIP POWDER. I have been getting my nails done every 3-4 weeks now for a year- and this is truly the worst service that I have ever received. I cannot speak for their other service. I imagine they are good, as there are many food reviews, but they do not know how to work with dip. I got extensions, none of which are the same length or width. When I continued to point out the length discrepancies, they made no effort to fix them. Leaving the salon, I noticed how lumpy and rough the finish was- as they did not properly drill the dip down after application. I was willing to look past this and give them another try, as I assumed maybe it was a fluke because the appointment went a bit past closing time, but here I am a day and a half later, and 5 nails have already popped off. Yes. 5. In less than two days. And no- I didn't do anything rough with them. They were just not properly applied. When I went in to get a to get a refund- they insisted on fixing them. The new fixed nails do not even match the surviving 5 nails. When I then asked for my refund for the terrible service and waste of my time; they refused. I do not trust this new set to last, since the last ones only stayed on for a day. Again- DO NO GO HERE FOR DIP POWDER. You will NOT receive a good service. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. **UPDATE. Lost another nail two days later. It ended up in my dinner and I almost broke a tooth on it. Seriously the worst nail service ever. read more

I have acrylic stiletto nails and Mi does a good job with them. She is careful to make sure they're the right shape and they stay on well - I just got back from a trek in the Himalayas and my nails are intact. The nail polish choices are limited and some of them seem old. I usually have to wait despite having made an appointment. The atmosphere isn't particularly luxurious. But I don't care that much because the quality of my manicure is good, so I will continue to come here. read more

I came here for a few months (maybe 3-5 gel manis), and I was satisfied, but not ecstatic. Here, it's all about the technician you get. There are two technicians at this salon (I don't know their names) that do a good job for gel manis. Neither of them is perfect, but for the price of $25 it's a deal that is hard to beat. However, the last time I came here I got a different technician and it was one of the worst gel manicures I had ever gotten. She filed my nails crooked (literally every nail was slanted to the right) and despite many attempts to ask her to fix them, I was still left with some straight and some not so straight nails. The paint job was splotchy (to be fair, it was a light color so I asked for a 3rd coat, but was still disappointed as there were light and dark streaks and some of the corners/edges weren't even painted all the way). It's unfortunate because she was really sweet and tried to accommodate all my requests, but just didn't have the skills to do a gel manicure well (and honestly, probably a regular manicure too). And this mani definitely didn't make it two weeks. Yes, I could have just requested one of the two good technicians every time I went, but honestly they weren't THAT good, so I went to a different salon and am much happier. read more

The shop is very clean and they sanitize all their tools in the back. Tons of colors options to choose from for regular nail polish or for gel, and they are always adding new colors so you don't get bored. The prices are also a steal for the quality you get. My standard is an acrylic fill w/ gel polish that lasts 3 weeks for $25. Pedicures are also $25. One thing to note, the shop is fairly small (4 nail stations, 3 pedicure chairs) so make sure you call ahead to schedule an appointment. They take some walk ins but are usually booked up and asking you to come back later. So save yourself some time and call a day or two ahead and make an appointment, it'll be worth it!! read more

When she started to clip my nails other nails fell out of the clipper; all towels were used before and had stains including what looked like blood and I wanted to leave. I had the worst nail experience today. I came in for powder dip SNS. The woman definitely didnt know what she was doing. She actually finished my nails and when I was almost paying I saw that the top coat was not dry but she applied oil on it. It totally messed up. As a result she had to scrape the top coat off and applied again. But to my horror it happened AGAIN. She scraped it off one more time and applied a different top coat on it. As a result I stayed 45 mins more than I needed. On top of that she overdid it and 3 of my nails were bleeding. Without apologizing. Now that everything is over, I look at my nails and feel so pissed as the surface is not even, the top coat peels off for 6 out of 10 nails. I need to book another appointment somewhere else to fix this nightmare. I will never ever be back. Terrible skills and service. read more

I go and get the "Sports Pedicure" which is really nice, like soaking my feet, I love a good foot and calf massage they're especially nice after running or mountain biking. The team knows me pretty well here, so much so that if my wife goes in without me, they ask her where I am and if I will be coming. I love being a celebrity!
