I think this place is pretty good. When it comes to shaping my nails I have never had an issue. I only get gel manicures and usually French manicures are my go to. Overall, they do solid work for me it's just the polish used, my French tips never last I notice it turns cream within hours and my clothes bleeds over into the polish. I am not sure what happened to this business . Lisa and Michael usually give excellent service . Today however was a very poor experience . I went in with my daughter to each get a pedi and dip nails . Simple enough . Well the nail tech I had Huong , was quite aggressive with my pedicure and impatient then instead if my usual dip that I showed her a picture of ( v French or ombré again my usual ) she 1. Tries to convince me not to add acrylic nails ( I always do due to my nails curling and breaking 2 then tells me to do acrylic vs dip as it's better then proceeds to do a regular French . Needless to say I got neither a v French nor ombré and have a very small French tip and on top of that was charged $200 for our service . When I spoke to the owner who normally does my nails she basically said well you got acrylic . I ASKED for dip your tech told me to do acrylic and my nails are not at all what I usually get and Lisa did not seem to care . Simply said next time just say dip . Had a first of all 3:00 PM pedicure and manicure and get a call back asking if I can come at 2:30 instead of 3:00 PM arrived at 2:20 chose a color the owner did my nails and all she did while doing my nails was answer the phone 4 times look around and see what coustemers where coming in very distracting then stuck my in to get a pedicure had my feet in the water for over 30 minutes not a happy experience after waiting over 45 minutes finally a worker came the whole pedicure took 20 minutes the only could of cared less . The shellac did not harden, was applied unevenly, and looked terrible. My cuticles were left ragged. Cons: -The color selection is extremely limited -Extreme inconsistency when my nails are being cut, they don't match up to the other side. -Aside from the owner the rest of the tech's seem carless about being there -Depending on the technician, the color turns out to be bulky. -G-d forbid I give them my feedback or ask them to file down my nails or do a 2nd/3rd coat, it automatically turns to trash talk between the technicians - if they go to harsh and make my cuticals bleed some how it's my fault. If my nails turn out uneven, again it's my fault. Zero accountability as a business What recently put me over the edge was two things. 1) They are notorious at scheduling an appointment for a certain time, u show up and they are with a diff client now I get it ppl run late and it messes up ur appointment, but when they r half way through and tell you it'll be 5-10mins when I reality it's more like 25+ to go,that's annoying. Its called an appointment for a reason 2) went to get a fill with gel on top. Same service I paid $31 two weeks prior ended up costing me $50. Apparently in those two weeks they have raised their prices and neglected to mention it during the service. The tech kept cutting into 4 of my nails to the point where she replaced them with new acrylics without my ask, but I get it. But to have the audacity to charge me $16 for 4 nails as if she did me a favor was the last straw. When I told her that wasn't right and she should have at least mentioned it during the process, she got all silent, I repeated myself and she just reached for my card. I just moved to the complex recently and was looking for a place to get my nails done. I walked over to Beauty Nails yesterday and they were able to take me right away for a gel mani / gel pedi. My pedicure was amazing. She did a great job and I felt wonderful after. The manicure, while being well executed, lacked in service. Massage was rushed, I left with dry skin still on my hands!, and when I asked to cut my nails down, he just filed them. Now, usually, that would drop this to a 3 star rating, but my nails turned out REALLY good. I'm going out of the country this week so hopefully they will hold up. I have always come here for mani pedis and they're always fantastic. I wanted to leave a review because this was the first time I have had my nails done post-COVID, and this place was FANTASTIC. I felt so safe. They are not allowing walk ins, it is by appointment only in order to limit the number of people in the salon. They ask you to use sanitizer upon entering, and take your temperature. Every other station is closed to maintain social distancing, everyone wears masks and they have put up clear barriers between esthetician and client for added safety. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! I was treated HORRIBLY by the one male staff member there who rushed me through what ended up being a completely botched shellac polish change. He rushed me from beginning to end, was ridiculously rough while scraping my old polish off, started applying the wrong color to my nails, rushed me to choose another, and I finally told him to forget the whole thing. As I got up to put my coat on, he said "$5.00" When I asked him what for he said, "I took your polish off." I was STUNNED. So after driving by this shop for over a year I finally decided to give them a try and booked a mani/pedi. They are actually not at the address listed - they are on Main Street, however, they are right near Oak Grove Village on the Melrose/Malden line. The shop is huge and VERY clean which is a plus in my book. I will say though that the woman who did my nails, while very pleasant, should go back for a refresher class. She used the cuticle cutters to scrape my nails more than cut any cuticles - when she did decide to cut, cut she did....as in I have all of these little cuts now thanks to her job on my manicure. I felt rushed, my gel manicure chipped in 4 days and the women there were openly complaining in Vietnamese and English about my not having cash and needing to tip them on my debit card. Just moved to the area, so decided to give it try. You pay for what you get. The low prices are attractive, but the quality is pretty disappointing. No customer service at all, I was left to dry my nails on my own at the drying station. The woman who did my nails just moved on to the next customer and didn't even come to check on me when the drying was over. When I am paying to have my nails done, I expect that they'd do the drying. I guess not, they asked me to do it myself. The pedicure session was pretty short, not much of a foot massage or soaking. The whole thing, including nail polish application, took less than 30 minutes. All other places I've been to take at least 45 minutes. In addition, the massaging chair was extremely uncomfortable and left me more tense than I went in. The manicure session was straight up disappointing. They didn't do much with my cuticles and the nail polish application was pretty amateur. I do a better job with one hand. Had big hopes about the place as it's right by my apartment, but I guess I'll have to go somewhere else next time. I's rather pay $5 more, but enjoy my experience and get better looking nails. read more
