Great nail salon! Beautiful polish colors available (regular, gel polish), types of nails (pink & white, acrylic, silk wraps) and nail technicians are very detailed. The salon is very clean and spacious. The metal nail tools are sanitized and opened from peel pack pouches on each use, which impressed me. They also have plexiglass between you and the technician. They keep the whole salon in tip-top condition, and has been here since 2001. They were closed for 3 months in 2020 but now open Tuesdays through Saturdays to about 6:30 or 7pm. For those of you who have been looking for a high-quality nail salon in Medford and have come up short, do I have some news for you: your lookin' days are over. First things first: Natural Nail Design is a clean, comfortable nail salon that offers anything from the basics (manicures, spa pedicures, polish changes, waxing) to treats such as shiatsu massage. Upon going to Natural Nail for the first time, I was really impressed by the size of the place. It is a *lot* bigger inside than it seems from the outside. The waiting area is spacious with plush leather couches and there are quite a few manicure and pedicure stations. However, it's not unusual to show up and find that each workstation is being used - the people of Medford clearly know the best place to get their nails done. It's a good idea if you make an appointment ahead of time. Another great thing about Natural Nail is the polish selection available. They only use Essie and China Glaze, and there are no bottles out that are less than half-full. And there's so many colors to choose from, the aforementioned wait time passes real quickly when you're looking at all of them, trying to decide. But the best part about Natural Nail is the quality of work done. They know what they're doing, that's for sure. You can tell that the technicians have all had a ton of training and actually enjoy what they are doing. They *want* your nails to look good and they ask you lots of questions about how you would like everything. It's a little bit on the expensive side ($27 for spa pedicure, $39 for mani/pedi, $9 for finger polish changes, $14 for toes, upwards of $50 for acrylics, $5 per design...) and they accept cash only, but in my opinion, they've earned those prices. I love getting my pedicures here with Kim. She is wonderful and always does a fabulous job on by feeties. I have tried going to other places for various reasons but always find myself saying, "Kim would've done a better job" and she does everytime. Gotta stop trying other places that don't even know how to cut the big toenail straight. I've been going there at least since 2004 and am glad to say their price at least for the spa pedicure has remained relatively stable. If you want a relaxing mani or pedi, this is a great place to go. The atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant. This is not one of those sterile, bright white, loud, quick nail places. Anytime I go elsewhere I regret it. The people who work at NND have gentle hands. You will not be wincing since they do not manhandle your feet as other places do! I was tentative about coming here because the reviews said it was pricey, but when Carly's nails couldn't take me on a Thursday morning at 11, I skipped over to Natural Nail Design hoping for the best. It's as everyone says - basically a big, decorated warehouse-style room. There are plenty of stations and lots of staff and everything is sanitized and welcoming. The color selection isn't bad, but it's not the best I've seen. All brand-name polish, which is to be expected. I was quoted $20 for a fill, and plopped down in front of Tony. Tony is quiet, which is good, because I don't like small-talk. Tony is also amazingly meticulous in what he does, which is REALLY good, because I also don't like a lot when it comes to my acrylics. I am picky -- thick acrylic (but not too thick), wide, very square tips, and gel top coat. Tony obliged 100% and only charged $5 for the top coat (elsewhere I have been charged 10). It took an hour for the fill, but it was worth every minute because my nails came out EXACTLY how I wanted and described. Even though it is cash only, and $20 is a little high for a fill, I don't see any way I can avoid coming back for the awesome results I got here! read more

Each time I have come to Natural Nail Design I've had a wonderful experiences. Karen has been my nail technician 2x and she's precise, careful and always does a good job with my nails. Their facilities are clean and all the technicians are super friendly. Whenever I go, they always have regulars in - and that shows something! From shellac manicures to spa pedicures I've had nothing but good things to say about this nail salon. P.S. I've seen some bad reviews on parking (which in my opinion shouldn't be a poor reflection of the nail salon). There is plenty of street parking and parking in the lot behind. After having not-so-good experiences with other Medford nail salons, I finally found Natural Nail Design in Medford Square, which apparently has been rated "Best of Medford" for many years. If you are looking for extra amenities like complimentary beverages or semi-private pedicure areas, this is not the place. The decor is quite basic in this salon, but the manicures & pedicures are quite good and long lasting, regardless of which technician you get assigned to. I normally go on Saturdays, and It is easy to make appointments even on the same day. The price is quite reasonable, too, considering the detailed work and good massage you get for both manicure & pedicure. read more

Let me start by saying Tony is the acrylic nail god. He saved what I would like to call a not so good job from a different nail salon in Medford . He did exactly as I asked and the result was flawless. He actually made my night. I am extremely picky when it comes to my nails some may even call me a wee bit nerotic and can't come up with one complant except........They are a little pricey but honestly its worth it and they don't accept credit/debit cards (there is an ATM right next door). Also while I was there I had a polish change on my feet and the cleaned them up rather than just painting the nails. I love Natural Nail Design! Despite the fact that they are a little more expensive than other places, I am willing to pay because they do a fantastic job! I usually only get a standard manicure with colored paint. My cuticles are always cleaned up neatly and the shape of the nail is always symmetrical! Every time I have gone here I have seen a different nail artist and the quality is consistently good. I've had a pedi that I got there on my toes for nearly two months with no chipping! I set out on a mission yesterday to find a local, professional, clean salon to get my nails done. I am a gigantic clean freak/germaphobe (I bring my own cuticle cutters to the salon with me for them to use), after one bad experience of getting cut and getting an infection I don't play around! I had actually made an appointment for the salon across the street but changed my mind after I walked by Natural Nail Design, and I'm so happy I did! Melissa gave me one of the best gel manicures I've ever had. She was very thorough, took her time, and was super friendly. This is definitely my new go-to place for mani/pedi's. Oh! and she told me their pedicure stations are pipeless, they use liners in their tubs for added cleanliness. Can't wait to go back for a pedicure. I was treated very nicely by the woman at the door, and the woman who did my spa pedicure was very good also (Kim). I went in with a good amount of pain, and left like I was walking on clouds. I've been a customer since they were at a different location in the square. The past two years I have gotten UV gel tips, before that acrylic tips I have tried other places when I needed to, but nothing compared. If you're in a jam, they'll do what they can to help you. I've been in plenty of times with a broken nail. Tania has been doing my nails for the last 2 years. She does an amazing job and will give you any suggestions you need for color or design. Kim did my nails when I had acrylic and always took her time and she really is the sweetest woman. They're clean and sterilized. A friend and I walked in, and right off the bat the nail technician by the door was instantly rude. She gave us dirty looks and she seemed like she could not be bothered to take us. The nail salon is huge, but there were only TWO techs and the woman did not bother to inform us if we needed an appointment or if walk-ins were welcomed. Amazing! Just found this place after moving to the area and trying to find my new nail salon...this is definitely the one! Great pedicure and gel manicure ($57 for both) and my technician was very sweet but wasn't very talkative. She took her time on both my feet and hands and the polish was perfectly applied! I was looking for a new place because the place I used to go closed its doors. I read the good reviews but was disappointed when I walked in one day and asked for a manicure and pedicure. The technician seemed supper annoyed and in a rude tone told me that they were not taking anymore walk- ins for the day. She didn't even look at me when she spoke. The fact that they were booked I can understand but I just don't understand the rudeness...sometimes businesses get so comfortable with the favorable ratings that they forget what it took for them to get there. Many people have mentioned that this place is a bit expensive, but I completely disagree! I am always surprised at how little they charge! I occasionally get my nails done where I get my hair done (Jesamondo Day Spa in Natick) or where I get waxing (Bella Sante in Lexington) and Natrual Nail Design is WAY cheaper than those places, but do just as good a job! I used to be able to walk in anytime, but a couple times they've been full, so I try to make appointments now. They are always very friendly (but not too chatty, I prefer to read a magazine or go online). I definitely recommend this place! (DO NOT go to Princess nails across the street.
