This was the worst experience i have ever had. I was charged $60 for the worst french nails i have ever had. No tips added either. My nail tech was rude. Felt like she was just rushing me. I love going to Tammy for my gel extensions! I've gone to Anna's off and on for the past few years for pedicures, which have always been great. They have always been able to accommodate walk-ins and group booking for special occasions. Recently I wanted to try gel extensions. Tammy took the time to asses the shape of my nail bed and find the extension shape that would best fit my natural shape of my nail. I appreciated the time and effort she put into doing this. I was nervous too go into a nail salon i've never been to. I'm loyal to the same nail guy i've went to for years. I went to Anna's and was glad they had space for me. I started at 530.... and didn't leave until 715. My nail lady was nice, but that took way too long for a simple dip set. On top of that my nails were left in weird shapes, the underneath still has dip not cleaned up, and they did not clean up the color around the cuticle. I was told a price of $40 over the phone, then the owner asked if I was a new client (yes I was) so I got 15% off which seemed nice. Until she said it was $50 so with 15% off it was $42. I honestly didn't even argue cause I was too tired from being there for so long. Not impressed and not returning. I bet these nails will break within a week/two. Update: 6 days later one is lifting and broken! read more

I wish I could give minus stars. This place is horrible everything, especially service and customer service. Not to mention that I got ripped off. 18 dollars for just a change of color, not even a manicure. Remove regular nail polish with acetone, lousy filing of nails and one basic color. The guy who did my nails walked off without even offering a dryer. First time ever I get a service and I don't tip. First and last visit to this place. Other places in Melrose (much better than this place) charge 12 and 14 dollars for a change of color. I had a change of color on my recent travel in Europe at a spa in a 5 star hotel, I did not pay this much. I went in for a design and it was a lot of back and forth in a foreign language (RUDE), and could not figure out how to do the design, so I gave up. My initial feeling was to just walk out but I sucked it up so I would not be rude, but I should have trusted my gut. Will never go back. Plus when I went to the check out desk to pay, there were used disposable flip fops probably left there by the previous customer. That was another turn off. Terrible! I don't recommend. Pampered nails and Beauty Nail Design in Melrose are much better service, cleaner, better vibe and more professional. read more

This nail salon is so very clean! I was able to make an appointment online. However when I showed up there was only one tech and she was still working on the mani/pedi of the customer before me. I think my appointment ended up starting 45 mins late, but it was well worth it. I got a dip/powder for the first time for my nails. The color was perfect for the holidays and she did absolutely amazing. She was very fast and efficient. I hated that she was the only one working as she was such a sweet lady, trying to provide for her family working on the weekend for our pleasure services. I would definitely come back as my nails lasted so long and was done so well. Parking was right off main street. read more

I have been going to Anna's nails since the store opened and Tammy and Jon took over. The salon is very clean and bright. The products are top of the line and the owners care about using healthy, long-lasting products. They always keep appointments and take their time to make your mani/pedi enjoyable and do a excellent job. I find other salons are rushed and much harsher on my nails, where at Anna's they care about making a good experience for their customers. I have tried regular, gel polish, dip and have had a full set on and off. I am always extremely happy with the outcome. I will never find a salon as good as Anna's if I leave Melrose! I went here once and will not be back again. The massage chair was broken and the water jets did not work. My nail tech was friendlyt, but did not do a good pedicure. She clipped one of my big toenails too short and had to file it at an angle. She told me I picked an "old lady color" and pressured me to change to the one she picked out. The polish job was not great. I had booked a spa pedicure and right before she started the massage she asked me if I had Internet on my phone. I said yes and then she asked me to leave her "stars online" before she finished the pedicure. It was an awkward transaction and I felt obligated to leave a decent review on google because she was waiting to see my phone before she continued my pedicure. I left 3 stars and said that my nail tech was friendly. To be honest that interaction was the final straw and what pushed me to leave this review. When I went to pay, the girl at the front told me that I could only pay using Venmo, which I thought was odd. The venmo was to a woman named Tammy who I guess was the owner, but was not present in the store. I asked if I could venmo my tech separately to make sure she got the tip. The girl at the front said no, so I outlined in the venmo which portion was tip and which was for the pedicure service. Overall my experience was not good and I will not be going back. read more

I used to go to Anna Nail for pedicure and manicure. The service was ok, and liked that that places was never busy. Yesterday, I had a horrible customer experience with a new nail worker. She kept hurting my toe while cutting the nail and I asked her to stop. He only reply: " relax, I have experience." I called Jon, the owner, to take lead and take her place, but he only said: " she can do it." And left. Jon and wife were not doing anything but looking and hearing how I keep asking the nail worker to be more gentle. My advice: owners and workers suppose to make a great and pleasant experience to customers, so customer come back and recommend to others. I have been going here for 4 years & today experienced the worst customer service ever. John and Tammy know me by name, yet today I felt like a stranger in their salon. I found a gift certificate my husband had given me from two years ago in a coat I was donating and was psyched! I knew it was old, but I go there regularly & thought nothing of it, confidant that John would honor the gift certificate he wrote out & signed. I was wrong. Instead I was met with hostility & back peddling... John informed me that he COULD NOT honor the certificate where as I let him know that he COULD honor it...He just CHOOSES not to. IT IS THE LAW IN MASSACHUSETTS THAT A GIFT CERTIFICATE MUST BE REDEEMABLE FOR A MINIMUM OF 7 YEARS FROM ITS DATE OF ISSUANCE - REGARDLESS OF WRITTEN EXPIRATION DATE.
