Lana is truly a God-send. One of the most kind hearted, talented, witty and comforting people I've ever met. I just completed my package of 6 laser sessions with her, for three different areas. She is so professional and so good at what she does, that I have never once left a treatment upset with any burns or irritation. What I recommend for people to do, and Lana will agree, is to apply numbing cream an hour prior to the treatments to make the pain more bearable. Me being me, I kept forgetting to purchase this cream every single time (and the cream is only $10 on amazon), and I really paid for it during my treatments. One of the areas that I did in particular was more sensitive than the others, and the pain was just unbearable. Disclaimer: everybody has very different pain tolerances, so to each their own. But that being said, Lana was SO comforting and and so sweet, she basically coached me through the pain by distracting me, making me laugh, telling me over and over again "you're doing great sweetie, you're doing wonderful honey, I'm going to get you nice and polished for the summer". I cannot say enough wonderful things about this woman, OR my results. She assures you that she is no magician and that we are human and we'll forever have hair, but that if you keep up with the maintenance, you will have virtually no more hair left. My results are unbelievably amazing, and hands down the best decision I've ever made beauty-wise. Let's face it: getting laser done on the bikini area is nobody's favorite activity. It was not mine either but Lana, with her knowledge, tips, and kindness, made the experience a lot more bearable! And I'll be coming back soon to do my legs. Lana was so knowledgeable and kind that I decided to get and start a 6-session package right after a free consultation with her. The results started to show after a couple of sessions. I have just finished my package and I think I may have to come back for a few touch-ups. Lana had been honest about this: she is not god (as she would say :) and the hair in that area can be tough. Her salon is located downstairs, below the hair salon. It is cozy, clean, welcoming and private. Lana is always on time and warm. She is patient and offers some good tips. I don't like it when people run behind schedule - that's why I was mad at myself when I was 15 minutes late to my first laser appointment with Lana (damn the MBTA!). But she was very understanding and didn't rush me at all when I got there! She took care of me very well and knew that I was nervous. She gave me stress balls to squeeze and stopped every 3-4 zaps to give me a 4 second rest. She was literally like a loving mother - amazing woman. I promise I will never be late again! I definitely recommend Lana to anyone who is doing laser for the first time (she will make sure you are comfortable and not in pain!) or even if you're experienced. I also like that the appointment system is online - I always have to have my calendar with me in order to book the next appointment, so doing it at home online works a lot better than on the spot. Let me preface my review by saying that I'm writing this review after only my first session, so I can't yet comment on how effective the treatment is. I have been thinking about laser hair removal for quite some time but wanted to wait until 1) I felt like I could afford it 2) found a place/person with consistently good reviews. I first heard of Lana at Beauty Tech when I saw a Gilt City voucher a month or two ago. At the time I googled her and saw that people only had positive things to say. Unfortunately, I missed the boat on the voucher so I decided to wait a bit longer. Finally, Lana put up another Groupon. Prior to purchasing it, I gave her a call to ask some questions since I have never done laser hair removal before. Lana was very responsive and answered all of my questions. When I arrived at the salon for my appointment, Lana took the time to fully explain the process and explain why this type of treatment is effective. She did warn me that it would be a bit uncomfortable but she was very sweet in that she rubbed my arm as to comfort me after every few zaps. The space is very clean. I'm looking forward to continuing my treatments with Lana. For now, I'm just going to stick to my upper lip until I see how effective it is on my skin/hair. read more

Wow! Lana is the ABSOLUTE BEST. I was incredibly nervous as this was my first laser treatment. Lana could not have been more comforting and knowledgeable. Located under the Alexander Salon in Brookline (just go inside, go to the back of the hair salon, and down the stairs), Beauty Tech is awesome--believe the reviews! I had no idea what to expect from laser hair removal; after having waxed for years, I didn't know you're supposed to shave before you go (just not wax for a few weeks--whoops) but Lana was her easygoing self about it for the first visit and steered me right for the following treatments. She makes it very easy and is quick, efficient, and thorough. I won't say this is a painless procedure, but she's fast and I find much less irritation after the fact than from shaving or waxing. After six visits for underarms and bikini area I have seen a dramatic reduction in hair, so the treatments were very effective. Plus, Lana herself is simply wonderful to talk to. I first found Lana and Beauty Tech through Groupon. I was a little apprehensive when I arrived at my first appointment, as this was my first time with laser hair removal. Lana immediately put any uncertainties at ease. She explained the process very clearly and answered any questions I had. The salon space is clean and welcoming. While there is some pain involved with laser hair removal, Lana talked me through it, stopped to check in on how I was feeling, and provided stress balls to squeeze my way through the process. It was about as relaxing as I could imagine the experience being. After completing my six sessions, I have zero hair growth on my underarms! Treatments were quick, and always ran on time. March 2016: Lana was great. Made me feel very comfortable. She made the entire process almost painless. It's been 2 weeks since my first laser hair removal session and I've been noticing the treated hair slowly fall off since the last 5 days. She uses YAG laser for my skin tone and it's the best! She doesn't pressure you to pay during consultation. I consulted another laser hair removal center which is rated as "Boston's best" and they pressured me to pay upfront telling it was a great deal which I won't get if I came back later. Lana's sessions are much cheaper and much much more effective. She doesn't rush through the session. She took time to cover every corner of my skin. She is the best! Update(May 2017): Its been nearly 6 months since all my 6 sessions were done. i got an almost full body done. I used to have thick hair on my legs and now i only see a few fine hair left but most of it is pretty smooth and i'm very happy with the result on my legs! Laser was less effective on my body where there was fine hair, but it worked miracles on thick hair! If i ever have to get any more sessions done, i'll go to no one but Lana!
