I am going to summarize my experience by saying this: I would not suggest going here for any cosmetic procedures, for several reasons: 1.) The business unfortunately never picks up their phone. It baffles me how a "medical clinic" is administering laser procedures, but does not respond to calls before or after a procedure is done. It makes the business look money-hungry, to be quite direct. How about if someone had an emergency? 2.) The laser they utilize (a Light Sheer Diode, as advertised on Groupon) is actually pretty outdated. Some people with fair skin may indeed see results, but this laser is not suitable for skin types 3-6 (tan, medium deep, and deep skin tones). Even so, technology has advanced tremendously, and I was shocked to see a clinic with this type of laser. 3.) The esthetician unfortunately seemed as if, based on my personal experience, she was very unexperienced in the science behind laser hair removal. A lot of spas and clinics hire people who are certified in esthetics, but I've come to learn that becoming "certified" can take only a matter of hours sitting in a 1-day class. There are people who go to school, complete thousands of clinical hours, take an exam, and work their way up the ladder, but there are easier routes to take when desiring to practice esthetics. Even so, I feel like not all estheticians can be trusted with certain procedures. Now, I'm not trying to assume the educational status of this particular esthetician, but I will just state this: when doing laser hair removal, or any type of medical cosmetic procedure, it is best to go to a location in which one is being serviced by a nurse, nurse practitioner, or a medical doctor. Point blank. Trust me, I would love to take the cheaper route too: money does not grow on trees, but your skin will end up paying for it. 4.) The clinic is extremely small, and is in a weird location in a retail office building. It's surrounded by many dental offices inside, and the actual procedure room reminds me of a nice jail cell. 5.) The prices are reasonable, but you can definitely find cheaper prices at a nicer facility who actually answers their phone calls. There's actually a brand spanking new laser hair removal center that's owned by two dentists in East Boston (AP Dental) and I'm getting almost full body done there for less than the price of 2017 MacBook Air (they were having a deal though, so prices may indeed change by the time you see this). The laser hair removal procedures are done by a nurse. Extremely nice facility. It's a hidden gem. All in all, I am writing this lengthy review because I just want to help someone; I wouldn't want anyone making the same mistakes I have. I've been to too many places.

I figured it was winter so less of a time to panic, and add in Covid and what I had was me sitting inside with my dog. However, in early February I started to realize that I could (somehow) find a new place for waxing or I could just get laser and be done with it. I saw a Groupon deal, but checked out their website and saw that I could purchase one visit at a time (I don't think I have seen this anywhere else, it is usually a package of 5 or 6 visits) and decided I could get one Brazilian wax for $60-80 (depending on location) or one laser treatment for $99; seeing as one lasts 4-6 weeks and the other forever, the choice was obvious. My first visit was 6 weeks ago (everyone is different, you might be 4-5 weeks) and my second was this morning, it really is not all that awful and Emma is really nice. They have a great system in place for Covid: call from outside to check in, then go inside when they are ready for you. They will check your temperature as soon as you get in, your bag (if you have one) will go into a plastic bag and you will be given a pair of gloves to wear after disinfecting your hands. Really, it is easy and much faster than waxing!! They also have online booking (!!!), there is no shortage of free parking outside on Trapelo Rd, and you will get a great service for much less than other places that over-promise and leave you feeling disappointed.

Despite the claims on the made during the consultation and the before-and-after photos that were shown to me, the treatment did not deliver any measurable change to my body. What frustrates me most is that I do not feel I was given realistic expectations about the possibility of seeing no improvement. Had I been told that results vary significantly and that some patients may not notice any meaningful change, I would have made a different decision before taking on this expense. Additionally, when I told them I was unhappy with the services provided and ask for a refund or compensated services, they refused and instead tried to get me to pay for more treatments! This was a major financial commitment for me and all for a treatment that provided NO benefit. I would not recommend this place to anyone because they will not be honest with you about the results you will see. Do not waste your money- seek providers who are transparent about both the potential benefits and limitations of the treatment.

Everyone is doing it differently, some charge you for a calming mask, some give it as a compliment to the service. I found it very confusing and frustrating. The worst is their behavior around tipping for med spa services. They blatantly and aggressively tried to get me to tip for those, literally trying to shame into paying it by loudly requesting a tip in front of everyone at the front desk, in addition to a big tablet with a tip suggestion (of 20,25 etc % expectation clearly listed) shoved in my face. This is a shady practice trying to indicate to a patient that this kind of tip is expected on a med spa procedure. Industry norms within healthcare generally favor transparent, all-inclusive pricing rather than gratuity-based compensation. This principle typically applies to services provided within medical spas, regardless of whether a specific treatment is performed by a medical provider or an esthetician. Because the service is offered under the medical spa's clinical umbrella and within a healthcare-related environment, patients reasonably expect the advertised price to reflect the full cost of care. Soliciting tips in this setting can create confusion regarding pricing, blur professional boundaries, and undermine the distinction between healthcare services and traditional hospitality services. The business acknowledges med spa separation from their day spa services. You receive multiple emails, forms to sign, etc. indicating a treatment that is treated as a procedure done under medical setting. It should be left to a patient discretion to provide a token of gratuity if they decide to do so, but in the med spa setting, there should not be expectation of the same tipping practice as for the traditional day spa services. I was very taken aback by these practices. This behavior was not present at other branches, but unfortunately those have been closed or will be closed.
