I've gotten this done at various places over the years. Service here was extremely rushed and not thorough at all. When I was in the office they said to let them know if there were any issues. I have gotten numerous touch ups other places that generally last a long time. I paid a lot for a very small area and when I contacted them to ask if they could redo it they told me no. I am going to summarize my experience by saying this: I would not suggest going here for any cosmetic procedures, for several reasons: 1.) The business unfortunately never picks up their phone. It baffles me how a "medical clinic" is administering laser procedures, but does not respond to calls before or after a procedure is done. It makes the business look money-hungry, to be quite direct. How about if someone had an emergency? 2.) The laser they utilize (a Light Sheer Diode, as advertised on Groupon) is actually pretty outdated. Some people with fair skin may indeed see results, but this laser is not suitable for skin types 3-6 (tan, medium deep, and deep skin tones). Even so, technology has advanced tremendously, and I was shocked to see a clinic with this type of laser. 3.) The esthetician unfortunately seemed as if, based on my personal experience, she was very unexperienced in the science behind laser hair removal. A lot of spas and clinics hire people who are certified in esthetics, but I've come to learn that becoming "certified" can take only a matter of hours sitting in a 1-day class. There are people who go to school, complete thousands of clinical hours, take an exam, and work their way up the ladder, but there are easier routes to take when desiring to practice esthetics. Even so, I feel like not all estheticians can be trusted with certain procedures. Now, I'm not trying to assume the educational status of this particular esthetician, but I will just state this: when doing laser hair removal, or any type of medical cosmetic procedure, it is best to go to a location in which one is being serviced by a nurse, nurse practitioner, or a medical doctor. Point blank. Trust me, I would love to take the cheaper route too: money does not grow on trees, but your skin will end up paying for it. 4.) The clinic is extremely small, and is in a weird location in a retail office building. It's surrounded by many dental offices inside, and the actual procedure room reminds me of a nice jail cell. 5.) The prices are reasonable, but you can definitely find cheaper prices at a nicer facility who actually answers their phone calls. There's actually a brand spanking new laser hair removal center that's owned by two dentists in East Boston (AP Dental) and I'm getting almost full body done there for less than the price of 2017 MacBook Air (they were having a deal though, so prices may indeed change by the time you see this). The laser hair removal procedures are done by a nurse. Extremely nice facility. It's a hidden gem. All in all, I am writing this lengthy review because I just want to help someone; I wouldn't want anyone making the same mistakes I have. I've been to too many places. read more

I went in for a service today where I have been going for over 3 years. Ashley had always been there and was amazing. You can read the yelp reviews. Well now Ashley is gone and there is a new team in there of three girls. Ally is the girl I had the been dealing with the past two times, and she's pretty rude and doesn't care to listen to concerns. I've been having issues booking and also when I'm there I have to wait a while to be seen even though I have an appt. when you call or email, it takes them one week to get back to you. I was so upset when I went in today and ally told me the price had gone up $15! I told her I was not told this and she smuggly said "an email was sent out." Well, I never received an email. I asked to speak to owner Shannon who was horrendous and so unprofessional as you can read below. My true concern and disgust has to do with the owner of this company, Shannon. She was horrific when I spoke on phone with her today! She actually told me "I don't care." She also said "Go find Ashley and go to her." She told me she fired Ashley bc Ashley wasn't charging the right prices. I was told by Christine in Tynsgboro that Ashley had left on her own accord. Shannon is really not a nice person. She actually said "I don't care" when I said it seems you don't care about customers or customer service. She told me "Go find Ashley and go see her." I told her I was going to put a yelp review and she said "I don't care. It's $15- it's not a big deal. I don't care." And this is from the owner? What a lousy owner. I literally left there and will never go back again. What a disgrace! Shannon also told me "I'm the owner! I can increase prices whenever I want!" Wow, an owner that has such a lousy attitude and is so rude, i will never give them my business again! Only reason this company survives is bc it Groupon. If they didn't get business from that source (which they have been on for at least 5 years) the business would definitely go under! People, take your business elsewhere. This company and owner is shady and do not care about customer service and jack up their prices whenever they want, and don't even inform customers who have been going there for years! I am surprised I haven't written a review yet. I bought a group deal for 6 Brazilian laser treatments. I have had 3 previous treatments at another place and was hoping to get better results. I love the friendly atmosphere of this place and location is really easy to get to. I recommend taking the T, its quick and you don't have to worry about parking. so far, i have had 4 treatments and i am noticing results. i admit, without the cooling fan, the laser does sting and no matter how many treatments you go through, you just never get used to it. Luckily though, the treatments are fast and if you can practice deep breaths and take an Advil before, its tolerable. scheduling appointments are easy as you book them online. I went in for my first visit today after my sister had it done there and was able to see great results from her treatment. I'm typically a chicken when it comes to anything painful, trust me, my eyes get pretty watery when I get shots from the doctor. I was told beforehand by my sister that it would hurt a bit so I was expecting myself to probably tear up. As I walked in, the technician there made me feel very comfortable. She asked me what I wanted done and told me about the deals they had. $150 for 6 treatments without needing a groupon coupon! What a steal! After paying, she told me to lay down and applied a gel onto the area that I wanted hair removed. She was great and even let me know that she was going to start the actual treatment. I won't lie, it hurt a little bit, but it wasn't too bad at all. There were no clenched fists or teeth. After it was finished, she let me know that she'd be outside as I got dressed and told me that there was aloe for me at the table to help with the reddening and any burning sensation that I felt. The burnt pain that I felt probably lasted about 30-45 minutes and it went away. read more

I just don't get it. Why does this place get such amazing reviews? Like most, I went here with a coupon. The problem is that SO many people buy these coupons that they are booked solid for months. Good luck redeeming it without waiting at least 2. Also, good luck redeeming it if you get the provider I originally had (not sure her name)- after making me wait over 30min she refused to honor the coupon! I tried again after having Living Social intervene to remind them of their terms of use. Had to wait another month for an apt. Finally got the treatment... And IT.DIDNT.WORK. At all. And I'm not new to laser treatments- I've responded superbly in the past. This left me only with sore spots in the WORST places (I'll leave it to you imagine where). This place, and Shannon, are fantastic. I am very very happy with my results, and she does make you feel really comfortable with a (somewhat) uncomfortable procedure. No more painful than waxing, I think, but much better results. I saw the one star rating, complaining that they didn't respond to calls. In all fairness, I have never tried to call. I researched what I was going in to before I went, and before everything got started Shannon briefed me thoroughly. I don't feel the need to call and confirm anything, everything I have ever booked online has gone seamlessly. She even squeezed me in after work between appointments when I couldn't make it on time, and again, everything worked fine. Results are great. I just had my first ever laser treatment done. I bought a livingsocial coupon. I did it on my upper cheek and my ear rim. It was definitely painful because of the fact that you are actually burning hair. But the machine had cooling gel which made it a better experience. Clear cosmetic has state of the art equipment but THE BEST thing is the staff. They accommodated us between appointments and Tanya who did my treatment, is the most sweetest lady you would ever meet. She made me so comfortable and at ease when I was cribbing like a baby on how much it hurt. She is just so kind and generous. It just made my first laser treatment experience a breeze. I won't lie, lasers can sting, but it's nowhere near as bad as waxing, it's over in a snap, and Shannon is just so relaxed and competent that you feel totally at ease. Moreover, unlike a previous lasering experience I'd had, so much hair was thinned out almost immediately - I didn't have to wait 10 days for the first of it to fall out. And she's incredibly thorough. What triggers this review, though, is their consideration for their customers. I had to reschedule at the last minute, and Schedulicity was showing them booked up for 6 solid weeks. I didn't want to throw off my treatment schedule, so I emailed Shannon and she squeezed me in right away, the following weekend. How awesome is that? They also have great deals for customers, which I really appreciate. This is my favorite laser removal place (ok, maybe with one downtown, but they are more expensive). I got for 15 min appointment for arm pits. They are always on time, they use the proper settings so it's effective without burning me. They even offered me a package that was just as good as my groupon, after I was done with the groupon (most place double or triple to continue) I also like that it's close to trader joes so it makes my trip to brookline worthwhile on the weekends, and they have easy parking in the back, I always find a spot on the weekend! read more

I gave this place a go based on good reviews and there was also a deal on Groupon. I've gone twice so far, today being my second time going. Booking the appointments online were a breeze. Also, you're always in and out when you're there which is great. My first time I went the girl that was doing the laser only gave me short responses to my questions. It was my first time ever dealing with laser hair removal and I communicated that to her, so you would think she would do her best to ease me into it. But no, she seemed like in a rush? Possibly for the next appointment since it takes no longer than 10 minutes tops. Still, she could've made it a better experience within those few minutes. Barely any pain whatsoever. I immediately saw results, hair fell out and took longer to grow back. I didn't return until a few months after which is totally my fault, but typically its supposed to be followed up within 6-8 weeks for best results. Woops. Today was my second time going, I had the pleasure of dealing with Ashley. She was very welcoming and friendly as soon as I walked in. It was a totally different experience from the first. She made me feel at ease and was communicating with me throughout the whole procedure. I went it for a service 2 1/2 weeks ago. At 5 pm I was the only person in the office (just me and the one technician) - not a great sign. It was my first time getting laser, and I had a lot of questions so I had scheduled a "free consultation" + a brazilian. She did not introduce herself or tell me her name or her position. She seemed confused when I said I was there for a consultation, and didn't think there was much to discuss. This treatment is a big expense, yet there is no sign/brochure detailing how much areas cost, or what specials are available, and you just have to go on the technician's word. For example, I thought brazilian would include butt (as it does at other spas) but she said that's a separate area, so you pay $35 additional for that. Would be nice for this to be written up somewhere, so you know the info is consistent across technicians & clients. I ended up lasering brazilian area. She had told me that policy was that the technician is not allowed to shave a client, yet when I got onto the table she did a quick shave. I wouldn't have minded except for that she didn't wipe off the shaven hairs, which made the lasering all the more painful. Some hair was left longer which it should never be, and the laser was so painful when she went over those areas that I had to ask her to stop and skip that area. I was burned in that area for a few days afterwards and had to pick off singed longer hairs and singed skin. I am pleased with the technical results - most of my hair came off within 2 weeks post the appointment. My main complaint is this: I decided to pay for a package of 6, and I immediately regretted it, as I realized I wasn't impressed with their service and there are better deals out there. I called the next morning to ask to change to a one time payment - no one picked up the phone, so I left a message. Called many times since - no one has picked up the phone. Have left 3 more messages, and no one has called me back. I am just calling about money (which is not a small deal - I laid out a serious sum of money for a package of 6 small area + 6 large areas), but people can have serious medical questions after their appointment, and it's unacceptable that they don't pick up the phone or return messages. All in all I found Clear Cosmetic to be unprofessional, especially in that I have not been able to get in touch with them since my appointment. If they cared about their customers and took their work seriously, they would call back to make sure everything is okay, after receiving multiple messages asking them to return my call. They are expensive, unprofessional, and non communicative, and I would go elsewhere. read more

I went here with a groupon for 6 treatments. I GOT COMPLETELY BURNT!!!! The lady who did it doesn't feel my pain!! I asked her to reduce the laser intensity but she didn't! My skin literally fell off.. and I had black burnt marks for 20 days!! and the scars are still existing! When I told her about the burns, she wasn't much moved/concerned/worried/ANYTHING!!!! This is another one of those hidden gems that I hesitate to give a 5 star review since I want to keep it all to myself! Wonderful customer service, scheduling is easy/painless, and the email appointment reminders are incredibly helpful! The technician I had (may be Shannon) is by far the most friendly, reassuring, and experienced person I've ever met in a salon (and I typically hate/avoid salons since I tend to be uncomfortable with small talk). I purchased a groupon online, only to learn that they will honor the groupon/living social prices on site. So far, I've had one treatment on my underarms and just went in for the second one today - already seeing great results! It is a little painful, but not nearly as painful as other places that use "cooling" technology but a large treatment head. The regrowth is patchy, about 65% or so of the hair is gone, and the remaining hairs are noticeably thinner. Wonderful service with a laser that actually works! It might be helpful to post a photo of the building since there's no outside signage. I'll try to remember to take one the next time I go. Highly recommended! read more

So I bought the 6 treatment underarm and 6 treatment bikini line groupons a year ago and you really get your money's worth from those. I'm at the stage now where I'm just getting touchups. I have light skin and dark hair so laser hair removal at Clear Cosmetic worked extremely well for me and wasn't all that painful for those who are worried about that. Here are some pros/cons of Clear Cosmetic Pros: easy online booking fast/no frills clean friendly staff Cons: -no prices on their website. I went in after my package had been used up and it was $35 for underarm and $65 for bikini. eek. -inconsistency between staff. Usually the staff will have the paper set on the bed when you enter and will leave after they are finished so that you can have privacy wiping off/applying aloe/redressing. I also change my underwear after my bikini appointments because the gel they use wets the fabric. Today I had no privacy and the staff stood and watched me change my underwear under my skirt. Awkward. She also didn't have the bed ready to go when I got there. At my last appointment another (I assume) newer staff tried to do much less area than what I usually get for bikini (until I asked her for more). Tips: It's on the 4th floor, don't take the elevator it's super slow. Wear your skimpiest underwear if you're getting bikini and tell them exactly how far you want to go in or out, on top, etc, or else they'll just do the minimum. read more

I do have a little bit of hair left, but Ashley prepped me about this and told me to come in at least 8 weeks after my last appointment.
