Because they sell to professionals, they carry higher quality tools and supplies than the more typical homeowner-focused hardware stores. They also have a great selection of paints and stains, including Benjamin Moore. They are also distinguished by their lumberyard. They carry a broad selection of quality wood, from small molding pieces to plywood and long boards and milled products, and their knowledgeable employees can help you figure out what you need for a project. They buy better lumber than the big stores, so you don't need to root through stacks looking for acceptable boards. Once you place your order, drive in to the lumberyard, and employees will make any cuts you need and help load the wood into your vehicle. They also deliver, for no additional charge, a handy service for long boards and large orders, and a necessity if you can't fit lumber in your vehicle. The staff is very knowledgeable about lumber and building supplies, and have helped me many times when I wasn't quite sure what I needed for a building project or how to go about making something. Because they know many local contractors, they can also make recommendations when you need to hire someone to do a job. If you go there, mind the hours, because they are closed on Sundays, and also close earlier in the day than other area hardware stores. Willard's is an incredible resource in the area, with a great selection of high-quality building products and supplies, knowledgeable employees (many of whom have been there many years), and great customer service. I canceled the order and went to Lowe's and got much better treatment. I will never shop at Home Depot again. I'm sick and tired of sleazy practices. There's a lovely hardware store near me, Mansfield Supply, which has almost everything and you get personal service, good quality, and fair prices. The second order placed had 0 issues. First one got all messed up because of their app. We called our CC company to see what was up. They assured us it was their end. Corporate customer service for Lowe's was ZERO help. And I mean ZERO help. Some of the worst customer service we've ever received. They told us to go to the store and they'll figure it out. So we went and everyone who got involved with this was baffled by how messed up this order was. It took SIX people to make this right. I wish I remembered their names but I didn't. It was a night shift who very clearly worked well together. We were there about 30 minutes but the entire time they were actively trying to help us. Which in the end, they did. Had to sell us a gift card for what we paid for fridge and stove since it was a special PO they couldn't just void it out and start over. Anyways, we left happy. I told them I'd leave a review.
