Finally I went to Becker December 3,2025 nice guy & social able. He said he would give me a discount bc I was calling for an appointment and finally he got back to me. I can honestly say I was so excited to be in his hands for my hair which I wanted highlights and root. He said he wouldn't do the roots I didn't need it next time. When I was done almost 3 hours my top head was orange . Highlights on the bottom. I was so uncomfortable so sad deep Inside. ( he didn't use bleach whatever he used turned the top on my roots ugly orange red ) He said leave it alone and next time I come he would do my roots. He also said I'd love it as days went by it would get better . He gave me no HOPE after that. I went ion vacation w orange too head ugly color it was terrible !!! I spent $450.00 !!! I bought his condition mask to support his business. He did give me condition treatment he said and blow dry. Even then I hated the color I didn't like it and worse being ion vacation couldn't take pictures with Orange head on my roots !! !! I was so sad my fiancé even said how could I spend that kind of money and not be happy and have orange red roots !!!! When I got back I called him he said to come in and he would fix it. Right before I hung up I said is there a charge for this he said $100.00!!! That didn't sit well w me. I canceled the appointment. Having to pay another $100 dollars for orange hair . Where do I even begin to describe my AMAZING experience in Becker's salon?! There are not enough words... First of all, the entrance and ambiance in the entire salon is absolutely perfection. It's open, inviting, and smells amazing. The staff is quick to greet you and get you settled in for your appointment; offering to change into a robe for prevention of ruining your clothes if you are coloring. They offer a variety of refreshments including sparkling or still water, coffee, cappuccino, and even wine! The staff is always asking how your experience is going and if you need anything.... Now Becker! Coloring was a brilliant experience, as well as the wash and masque session with massage with the Hair Treatment Specialist! My hair was heavily processed and damaged, and now it is glistening with shine and healthy!!! The color is 100 times better and he did an amazing job matching it to my complexion and wishes!!! SUPERB JOB!!!! On next, was the cut, style and blow out -- which was perfection! They use their personal hair products on your hair and trust me when I say they are definitely worth the hype!! Avoid This Salon at All Costs! My experience at this salon was so appalling that I feel compelled to write a review, something I never do. Normally, I don't take time out of my busy life to write reviews, but after what happened, I can't stay silent. I've been to this salon four times, allowing the abuse because the talent is undeniable, and I loved the results. But the behavior of the staff, particularly Becker, is beyond unacceptable. First Visit: I made an appointment, informing them I was traveling an hour and a half because I liked their work on Instagram. I brought my retired mother along, hoping to enjoy lunch and a stroll afterward. Upon arrival, Becker's husband rudely informed me that my mother couldn't wait in the salon without paying for a service. When I questioned why this wasn't mentioned over the phone, he rolled his eyes and insisted she leave or I'd be charged for my appointment regardless. My mother ended up paying to get her nails done just to wait. Later, she told me Becker's husband approached her outside, mockingly saying, "Aw hunny, look at you, walking outside all by yourself." This passive-aggressive attitude was shocking, especially from a place that charges premium prices. Second Visit: Despite my reservations, I returned because other salons couldn't match the quality of work. This time, Rome did my highlights, which were stunning. However, during the wash, he mentioned "hydration," which I took as a comment on my hair's dryness. To my shock, they charged me an extra $150 for a treatment I didn't ask for. Too intimidated to argue, I paid and left. Third Visit: I returned once more, this time being told Rome couldn't make it, and Becker would do my hair instead, but at Rome's rate. Throughout, Becker was fake-friendly with overly enthusiastic greetings and disingenuous small talk. It was clear he was just going through the motions, making the experience uncomfortable. I endured the anxiety because I loved the end result. Fourth Visit: Today was the breaking point. I scheduled an appointment for my usual services--full highlights, cut, and style--with a new stylist, Becky since Rome is gone. The cost was now $150 more than before, totaling $600 plus tip. Upon arrival, I was told Becky couldn't make it, and Becker would do my hair at Becky's price. He upsold me on full lowlights, quoting $725, which included low lights, a cut, and style, but excluded a glaze to keep it under $800. I agreed. Afterward, the total was $750. When I questioned the discrepancy, Becker confronted me and said, "Bitch, why are you complaining? The total is $750." I was stunned. He continued, "Are you that cheap that you can't pay the extra $25? You should be thanking me; I did your hair nice, bitch." I reminded him he quoted $725, and he retorted, "I made a mistake, but I gave you a discount on the glaze, so you should be thankful, bitch. Don't be a brat." Reminder, I didn't want a glaze and almost sure I never got this done as well. I was left shaking, shocked that an owner would treat a returning customer this way. I paid the amount and left an 18% tip because I didn't know how to not be nice. I walked out, angry and in tears. Conclusion: This salon may have talented stylists, but the behavior of Becker and his husband is unforgivable. They are entitled bullies who repeatedly show a complete lack of respect and class. First I will say, this is NOT a blast to Becker personally. He was very nice and personable, but, I wasn't there for that. I went to Becker for a haircut yesterday and I am still in shock at what I walked out with. As a stylist of 10 years myself... I am appalled. I went in with waist-length hair.. full and thick. I wanted some length off and shape. I showed him a video from his own Instagram. I ended up with hair much shorter than we discussed... completely thinned out, uneven, just an absolute disaster and honestly unacceptable for any stylist no matter what they're charging. Please see below for my before picture, the picture I showed him as a reference and what I actually have now. I feel like I have STRANDS for length. Everything else is short and choppy. I also paid $90 in addition to the $275 haircut for a blowdry with him (that is usually and should be complimentary with any haircut as any good hairdresser CHECKS their work dry and makes adjustments which is the only reason I chose him to blowdry it). The guy at the desk was so incredibly rude... which I found out was his husband ....told me rudely...bye mom get out now. They charge her another 70 to fix it! As it began to grow out, and after many comments by others that "the top of my head is red" I reached back out to the salon to see if this could be fixed as my hair was a different color, and I was told that "a root touch up needed within a couple of weeks is normal." This isn't a normal root touch-up that is needed, my top of my head was dyed red and the incorrect color to match my natural hair. If I could give this salon zero stars I would. I had balayage so I wanted my hair to be dyed back to my natural color which is dark brown, but my hair came out black. I said it was too dark, but Becker said it would fade yet proceeded to put curly, black hair extensions in. He said the extensions were only going to be for thickness, not length even though I wanted them for both. He said he didn't want it to look fake. He said it would be $600 a bundle and I only needed a few bundles. I just wanted to learn about them, but I was in his chair and I thought I could trust him. He zoomed through it in 5 minutes as the salon was closing. The total was $2145 and I gave him a $380 cash tip. I DM'd them on Instagram asking about how to take care of the extensions and they left me on read. When I went into work a few days later my coworker who was a hairdresser for 8 years looked at it and was shocked at how poorly done they were especially after the amount I spent. The extensions were randomly placed, installed so low from my root, and were all intertwined. Additionally, I told Becker I wear my hair in a ponytail almost 24/7 between work and working out, yet I was unable to put my hair up without them showing. I called and they asked if I emailed them and I said no because they ignored me on Instagram. Becker then got on the phone and asked, "Why wouldn't you just go to her then? [my coworker who used to do hair] Why are you talking shit about me?" I could not believe the unprofessionalism when I was simply trying to explain the situation. After how awful I was treated I felt unsafe returning there. I had to go elsewhere to get the extensions removed, order new hair, and have it installed. Furthermore, Becker only did a glaze so it faded within a couple weeks and I was left with pin-straight light brown hair that was longer than my curly, black hair extensions. They never responded to my email explaining the situation so I had no other option left than to dispute the charge with my credit card company. The dispute was in my favor. One day later I see the same $2145 was charged. I called the salon and they said I never returned the hair then hung up on me. They never asked me to return the hair; it's in the garbage like their work. If they had asked I would've gladly returned it. I called my credit card company and they said the salon fraudulently charged my card on their own a day after they lost the dispute!!! I called the salon and the front desk guy goes, "You never returned the hair you stole from us" and hung up. I called again and he goes, "You've caused too many problems girl bye!" and hung up. I called again and he goes, "Don't call here no more or I'm calling the cops!" He wouldn't even let me speak. I could not fathom how he was acting like that at work. NOT $2525 WORK. Man i fell in love with Beckers Creativity and work!! I followed him for a long time I even started to find his videos on tiktok! Almost 80k followers i thought man!! This is it!!!!!!!! I decided to take a trip of 4 hours and the day off just so i could get my hair done. I went with high expectations my birthday is pretty close and I thought Im gonna treat myself!! The people there are amazing the place is spotless clean!! But the disappointment on my hair i cant even explain! So we went with one style he did coloring first now i don't know what happened that made him decide to put a different color as you can see the pictures! My root color is dark brown not red ish you can see the difference!! I was never notified that he was going to apply that color it's horrible and i can't even hide it! WHY? Also i showed him a picture of how i wanted the haircut my hair was long ( i added pictures before and after! My hair was long !! :( i asked him to keep the same length! Nothing else just the same length! Besides adding a different color to my front hairs and cutting my hair really short! I was charged for a service i didn't even ask! INOA GLAZE ? I dont even know what that is ? I got the surprise when i went to pay!! I was fed up tired and disappointed I just wanted to leave and go cry in the car!! When they finish i did tell one of the guys there why is my hair a different color in the front ? He told me oh you will have to come back to pretty much fix it! The whole process was done by Becker the only thing that he didn't do was the hair drying and curling part that was his assistant ! 745$ total spent not to mention i got a parking ticket! Oh and driving from cape cod to Connecticut with a V6 you can imagine how much i spent in gas! NEVER EVER AGAIN! Dont trust what you see on social media! It's not wroth the trip! Also honesty shines everywhere you dont charge people for a service that you decided to add without consulting the client! That's not good!! This morning was my first time going to Becker and it will definitely not be my last. The salon is beautiful and the staff is so welcoming and friendly, I was immediately comfortable there. I hadn't had a haircut in about a year and I had pretty vague requests (just a couple inches, still have to be able to put it up). I have blonde hair that shows any little mistake so I don't let just anyone cut it. I received an amazing wash and deep condition from Sierra and my haircut from Becker exceeded my expectations. I'll first say I'm happy with my cut. I came quite a distance to treat myself to an extraordinary cut and experience. The price of the hair cut was sky high. For anyone that is not aware, Greenwich CT is a very wealthy area, hence why he likely can charge high 3 figures for a hair cut. The salon is small and boutique like, staff were friendly and offered me Champange (champagne is always a nice touch). Nothing extraordinary tho. I learned about this salon thru their Instagram page and was so "wowed" by the photos that I decided to make the trek up to CT, a good 3 hours. I did plan to stay the night and shop as well to make it worth the trip. For the amount of money spent on this haircut, at a minimum, I would expect a decent consultation. When I showed some of the Instagram photos - he immediately suggested extensions. My hair is/was fairly long. I can't imagine what they would cost. I don't believe they mention extensions on any of the Instagram posts, this is misleading. So, a bit of caution before booking to ask about that so you aren't disappointed. He also had his assistant blow dry, curl and really style my hair. He came but only to fluff it. Lol. Blows my mind that he spent probably 20 mins if that on my hair with not a lot of customers in the salon. Nice guy but I have been to many of these high end salons that have several "assistants" that stand by to learn from the GOD. Cracks me up. If you aren't local and or don't have money to burn- find someone closer to you. Was greeted by a very friendly woman who not only offered water but gave one of the best cappuccinos I've had in a while! I asked for a cold wash and was the most relaxed in their massaging washing chairs. Unfortunately, my stylist didn't listen to me at all. I asked for a "conservative trim 2-3in MAX no layers". She cut off 5, gave my whole head layers. This cut ruined my face shape... I can never wear it down.... And I'm now taking supplements to try to fix it as soon as possible. His attention to detail and just overall talent with blending and achieving the look you want is like no other. I should have started here before I went to Becker, but I didn't. I didn't read all of the reviews here that differ from the Instagram message this salon puts out. They claim that all hair is beautiful and that he cuts fine hair. Well I guess he does cut fine hair but not well. It cost me over $300 and he was noticeably annoyed that I didn't want extensions. He said there wasn't much he could "do" to my hair. I said I wasn't prepared to spend that money on extension and couldn't I just get my hair cut. He proceeded to cut my hair in 6 minutes flat. I have been going into NYC for 30 years to get my hair cut and thought I would try something different. This was different for sure, I could have save $275 and gone to the LemonTree. As you walk in the gentlemen at the front desk will offer coffee/water/tea/food, take your coat and purse, etc. Everyone is always helpful and very polite. Becker knows what he's doing. I am really, really picky about my blonde color... I had a long-standing colorist for years, but recently moved up to Greenwich and needed to find someone new. I went in for hair painting/balayage and barely had to tell him what I wanted. My color is bright, natural, and exactly what I wanted. Other details - the salon space is gorgeous. All the normal perks like extra conditioning treatments and coffee/tea etc. Everyone in the salon is super helpful and nice - including a very sweet front-desk girl who's name I did not catch. I went to Beckers for a "low lights" I have baby fine short hair. When they were washing my hair I was told "I'm putting a conditioner on so it keeps the color". I think great. When I was getting my hair blown out I was asked if I wanted a manicure,OK. So I get my nails cut and filed on someones lap,no moisture,no polish. OK. Now I go to pay and the "conditioner" is $50 and the manicure is $30. So I walk out with over a $300 bill and "gray-brown streaks" in my hair,I am a blonde. Thank goodness the "low lights" have washed out. I did send a nicer e-mail to them but have not received any acknowledgement. I wish them luck but I would NOT recommend them to anyone. read more
