But the Marriott standard is not being checked or upheld. I'm lifetime platinum. I've stayed roughly 900 nights in Marriott properties. I have a baseline to compare. 1) clean towels absolutely stunk. Like sat for days in the washer to mold and then dry stench. Getting them wet made it 199x worse. 2) had to beg for the bedding for the fold out couch. Was told it was under the tv. I checked 4 times. Even went back to check. Not there. Had to beg to get. 3) came at an odd hour. Son and I looking for a snack. The market was literally bare. All shelves spread out with original skittles and potato chips. That's it. Freezer section was off. Nothing in there but a towel for moisture. Soda and drinks were old and Pepsi product - any self-respecting Marriott fan knows they ended their 34-year relationship with Pepsi for Coke. That brand standard is not being enforced. 4) in the room remote controls don't work, end tables plugs don't have power, lights unplugged and their cords are behind headboards. Dishwasher full. Just overall a miss. This is likely all unknown to corporate and on the operator. Maybe it was a glitch. But there's so many options in the area I am going to continue to find new and different. My family traveled here for Thanksgiving 2019 and we had a tremendously wonderful stay at this traditional country farm and home. Most notably, the entire facility is clean and very well maintained. Our gracious host and owner Judy greeted us and made us feel comfortable in her home. We rented the Autumn suite located on the top floor which included a huge bedroom with a queen bed, a separate bedroom with two twins, and a dedicated bathroom to be shared by the suite. Being a cold autumn week, the cozy living room and fireplace was a welcome place to relax, along with her very well-behaved dog and cat. In the morning we walked her property to visit her goats and sheep, to return to a wonderful farm fresh breakfast that Judy prepared. Our family was so impressed by Judy's warmth and service, and our memories of her wonderful and clean home will be forever cherished. We hope to come back again next year for more memories.

As a…read moreformer Diamond and now a Gold member of the Hilton Honors program, I have a certain amount of loyalty to the ever-expanding Hilton brands and have probably stayed in around 100 Hampton Inns over the years. This one is a mediocre example of these trusty motels. It's neither terrible or great. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable and everything works. But the room decor and design is dated and seems to have been been designed and decorated by someone without much architectural or interior design training. Frankly, the room was sort of ugly and a little depressing. The staff was okay, not particularly good or bad. The breakfast ladies were nice, though. However, the complimentary breakfast was somewhat below average for a Hampton, especially since the waffle makers were out of order and the selection of hot food (sausages, bacon, eggs, etc.) and other items was limited. Also, the location of this Hampton was a little odd, up a short drive from the main road and not visible from the highway. Due to all this, I would definitely take a look at the Courtyard by Marriott that is a couple of miles away. The prices (around $200 including taxes) are about the same, and while I didn't actually go into the Courtyard property, it sure looked more appealing than this older Hampton.

I would steer clear of this hotel and go elsewhere if you are able to as she is unprofessional, rude and condescending. I have been a loyal Hampton Inn customer for decades and a DIAMOND HILTON member, and have never in my life had a negative interaction with any hotel personnel, particularly a General Manager! This is my first complaint, but I felt it was quite necessary to help others to avoid this abuse. My 5 year old daughter attempted to get a paper cup off of the counter during breakfast, and was scolded by Ms. Rummel and told no that she could not get a cup. My daughter came back crying hysterically. I approached Ms. Rummel and asked what she had said to my daughter since she was crying, and was told that she told her NO bc she was "messing up her teas." I looked over and saw 2 tea bags that were somewhat out of place. I asked my daughter to clarify what had happened, and she stated that she was trying to get the cup and the teas got caught on her sweater, so she was placing them back. I went back to discuss this misunderstanding with Ms. Rummel, who was adamant that my daughter was out to mess up the coveted teabags here. So, I asked her name and explained to her that I thought she was unkind for making my daughter cry, and that it was odd that she did not feel badly or even attempt to apologize for making a child cry. **She blatantly told me that SHE WAS NOT GOING TO APOLOGIZE, and that my daughter should not be messing up her teabags and that she should not have been unaccompanied (mind you - 6 ft from where we were eating breakfast in a clear vantage point of me). I informed her I would be making a complaint with Hampton and she told me she "DID NOT CARE, BECAUSE AS THE GENERAL MANAGER - ALL COMPLAINTS COME TO HER ANYWAYS." After I told her I would be calling corporate, she continued to double down on this statement multiple times that it didn't matter, since the complaints come to her.** So, BEWARE if you choose this hotel that clearly Ms. Rummel is an unhinged individual with a power complex, and will not care about your well-being, and, in fact, overtly try to to make you feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Save yourself some frustration and mental anguish and stay at another Hilton property, or at least until Ms. Rummel has been replaced.
