Walking into this coffee shop early, I found this place to be very welcoming with plenty of seats with tables. Most tables had a marker on it with various times reserved. That's a great sign, right!! I ordered a caramel mocha hot coffee that was very good. They have pastries, which I ordered one. This shop is also pet friendly. I even met a four legged friend before I left! Seeing how warmly they treated everyone and noticing how many regulars there were made it clear this place really means something to the community. It made me so happy that my daughter and her fiancé chose to make this town their new home. The seasonal menu was very appealing and fun to explore. We tried the salted caramel apple latte, maple cinnamon latte, and salted biscotti latte, and each one was comforting, well balanced, and delicious. There is also a chalkboard wall where customers can leave messages. I wrote a New Year wish in Tagalog, which made the visit feel even more personal. This is the kind of neighborhood coffee shop you hope to find. Friendly staff, great drinks, and a genuine sense of community.

The misses Cappuccino cup was half full, and half of that half was foam. And the part that wasn't foam wasn't even good. I'm sensing that you just shouldn't get anything involving espresso from the ol Brown Dog Cafe. The breakfast sandwiches were also.....meh. They worked, but absolutely nothing you couldn't get microwaved from Starbucks or Dunkin. Now the muffin was an absolute winner. I'll give Mimi her credit here. Maybe they should turn into a bakery and forego the coffee stuff. ANYwho...I don't see a reason to go back. Our table was dirty where we sat, and we actually just cleaned it ourselves with wipes before sitting down. We cleaned it ourselves after for whomever would come in after us, since it was clear the staff weren't going to do it. That's where I used to live for many years. So yes I was a regular at Groove Ground for awhile. When I wasn't in the actual shop, I was up in my apartment using their free wifi. Stopped back in today while walking around town doing some Christmas shopping, and the place hasn't changed. Still tiny with a few natty armchairs and couches, still the eclectic mix of music records and other merchandise (a lot of it by local artists), still staffed by friendly employees. One change is that they used to be open until 10 or 11. Like most coffee shops in this area, they now close early. They're open 8 - 6 every day. It's not exactly a destination store. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for anything on the food or drinks menu, and for records and small handmade gifts, there are several other and better options in town. But I like that it's independent and supportive of the community, and it's still a nice place to stop in while in Collingswood doing other things.
