Warning this review has a backdrop and sidestory, may be long winded. Keep reading if you're in. It is a rainy Saturday in the midst of June. I'm on the road door dashing for life and vacay funds. It's miserable outside well it could be worst but it's rainy and if you ever have to work in the rain- needlessly to say, you already know. And so, I trekked on. With a major headache coming on and all. Life has brought me to this area and of all the food I could think. A bowl of Pho would heal me, but too far and would cut into money making time, you feels. And so the thought of a bagel came about. It's simplicity and convenience called to me. And so I called the local bagel shop and placed my order. Fast forward, I arrived to my destination. It's in the same plaza as Target and Sprout. Again, needlessly to say, parking sucks. Just have patience and you shall find a spot. I opened the door, greeted by the smell of toasty warmness. Friendly customers waiting patiently by the in-house cream cheese haven of a refrigerator. Amongst the togo beverages. It's a small hole in the wall kinda place. Order at the front and a seating area in the back. No frills. Still quaint and cute with the poster arts and old school feel good music. The bagel was a warm hug to my tiring body. It was a solid bagel, since I've had the pleasure of eating North Jersey (basically Ny style bagel) not much compares lol. And so, for what it was, a very solid local bagel. read more

decent sized space with tables to eat at after ordering in the back which is nice i haven't seen that at many bagel shops. the bagels were delicious i didn't even need to toast/use a spread when getting them fresh just enjoyed on their own. the employees were very friendly and helpful. read more

I have to say I do like this place, but I'm only given a three stars because of the expense. Yesterday I went in and had a poppyseed bagel with butter toasted, and I had two crumb cakes to go. The bill was $18. I think the price is a bit steep for what it is doesn't stop the crowds from piling in and quite frankly it hasn't stopped me from going. The bagels are good there's no doubt the crumb cake is top-notch. I'm just struggling with the price point.. I don't even pay those prices in New York when I travel there. read more

On a whim, I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on a jalapeno bagel. The bagel sandwich tasted okay, more on the plain side overall, including the jalapeno bagel itself. It was unexpectedly more expensive than I thought it would be for a bagel sandwich too. Service was friendly, and there is a 3% surcharge when paying with a credit card. There is also dine-in seating, and Westmont Bagel is located in a large plaza, so there is plenty of parking. 2/5. read more

As a native New Yorker, born and raised in sheepshead bay, Brooklyn, there is nothing like going home again. Luckily I have found a home at this place. Westmont Bagel is authentic in every way. Family owned and operated and you can feel it just walking in the door. I'm so comfortable there, I decided to propose to my now wife over a Sunday afternoon bagel with cream cheese right in one of their booths. Pat and Donna, the owners, are the kind of people you just wanna hug (if only to see the throughly confused look on Pat's face). Donna is not shy about singing along to the music, and you can't help but want to sing along - much to her delight. Her smile and happiness is infectious. And oh, man, are the bagels awesome. They have old framed newspaper articles and pictures and other memorabilia from when they first opened. They're super efficient. And the food is super delicious. Bagels, breakfast platters, sandwiches, burritos. Coffee, juice, pastries. Westmont has it all. I'd usually get a burrito stuffed with potatoes, bacon, pepper Jack and avocado. Wildly yummy. I'm a self proclaimed bagel snob and a fan of Westmont Bagel. They aren't New York bagels but the void for bagels can be filled here. They are slays soft and chewy on the inside with a nice crisp bagel shell on the outside. I'll usually get a baker's dozen delivered and they'll stay good for days without needing to be frozen. The low fat cream cheese and veggie cream cheese are on point. I've never had a problem with getting my bagel selection ordering delivery around 9ish on a weekday morning. I wanted to stop by to continue my adventure of finding my favorite South Jersey bagel. Bagels are one of my favorite foods, so I'd consider myself pretty picky in critiquing what I try. I came in on a weekday after placing an online order via their Toast ordering platform. The employee behind the counter was extremely friendly and greeted me nicely. Besides my personal online order, I decided to place an in-store order for a friend. Considering I walked in around noon, I was happy to see a solid variety of flavors still available. I was also really satisfied with the vast variety of cream cheese flavors they have. I decided to pick up a tub of their house-made Funfetti Cream cheese for home. My online order was ready as soon as I walked in, and my in-person order took about 5 minutes to be prepped. Even though I was ordering to-go, I noticed they have a very nice eating area past their preparation counter. Once I received my order, I was excited to see what this place has to offer. I went for a Marble bagel with Funfetti cream cheese. While I thought the "Marble" was a rainbow bagel, it's similar to a pumpernickel and white marble. Nevertheless, I wasn't mad at what I got. After trying my bagel, I was satisfied. The texture is was decent, with a good outside crunch. The cream cheese portion was decent, and the Funfetti flavor was strong. The bagel size falls somewhere in the middle of other places I've tried; I've had larger but also smaller. Overall, service and product selection at this place are awesome. The bagel is fresh and decently flavorful. It's not the best bagel I've ever eaten, but it's somewhere I would still stop by again for not only bagels but a specialty sandwich. read more

Was not super impressed with my everything bagel. Bagel was small, chewy similar to a dinner roll, and hardly had any toppings. I had garlic herb cream cheese which was so runny and melted, it got all over everywhere but the bagel. They have an option for extra cream cheese for a surcharge. I did not get this as I find it ridiculous, but I wish I did because my bagel to cream cheese ration was not enough. The cream cheese spilled out all over since it was so runny, leaving multiple places dry. Breakfast wrap was described as "just okay" by my fiancé. We ordered online and picked up. Gave them another chance & they have redeemed themselves. Past few times in there everyone has been so polite and our orders are always correct. You may have to wait a little bit, but I don't mind waiting because the food is cooked on demand. Best bagels outside of New York! They have the perfect texture, soft and chewy inside with that nice crisp outer shell. The spreads are also really good, and the bagel sandwiches are amazing! Me and my friend came in here today. We come here quite often and we like the food and the seating. Today it was a little bit different. My friend was one dollar short and wanted to cancel the transaction so her mom could put more money on her card and the cashier made a huge deal out about it and made it seem like a huge hassle. Then it was my turn to pay and I had to pay nine dollars cash and two dollars with quarters because I was short money because of this overpriced place. Then my friend tried to pay again because she got more money added to her account and somehow she was six dollars negative. We were a little bit confused because how did she lose five dollars to her account. then a rude woman behind us decided to pay for my friends order and we thought this was so nice until she made some snarky comment and said "it's good to do good things, but your friend should've done it". This really got me upset because she saw how much I was struggling to pay for my own meal and also the cashier was being very rude during this whole process and I honestly think they should all be more respectful. Everyone here looks so unhappy and I really think they should be more welcoming because they're not. Also, these prices are really high for this crunchy and burnt bacon and these bagels with way too much cream cheese. Hard to find a quick breakfast spot in the area if you need breakfast fast before you hop onto the train to work. This spot is fairly close to the Westmont station and located in the same shopping plaza as the new mini Target, AC Moore and Tuesday Morning. Their breakfast bagel (I asked for sesame, toasted) with egg, cheese and sausage was excellent, and it surprisingly came with a plate of breakfast potatoes. I certainly did not expect that. I was full with just half the bagel so I had the rest wrapped up to go for another time. Don't be fooled by the name, Westmont Bagel offers more than bagels and cream cheese. They have a great mixture of breakfast sandwiches, omelets, deli sandwiches, cheese steaks, quesadillas and yummy burgers. On one of my lazy weekends I went to visit them TWICE. I'll admit their breakfast sandwich saved the day for hangover recovery. Who knew that a egg, cheese and sausage on a bagel for $5 could re-energize me so well! It was nice to skip out on the standard WaWa Sizzle and get something fresher and larger in size, in fact I only ate half. My fiancé ate his whole but was full until visit #2: LUNCH. We went up the street again (!!!) on the same day and ordered 2 cheeseburger platters, which included fries or chips. A nice, juicy burger with toppings cost about $7 each.
