Brandon helped my girlfriend and me out, and he absolutely came through with knowledge and expertise that literally changed our lives. I'll explain: As far back as I can remember, I wore shoes too big for me ignorantly due to a preference of more spacious footwear; he precisely measured my accurate shoe size and showed me a breakdown of my anatomical feet. So now knowing my true shoe size, he helped me with pairs of shoes that really reflected what I was looking for--without any salesman pressure--and even felt it while it was on my feet explaining how shoes should optimally fit. Needless to say, I purchased the right shoes of the right size for me. As for my girlfriend, she has a chronic illness that affects her daily with various bodily pains and her feet swell up greatly throughout the day. Brandon saw her issues and provided her a solution that literally made her cry: he recommended the right shoes of the right size; she told me that it was the first time shoes fit her properly with her lifelong condition. For once, she has shoes that makes her feel as "normal" as she could feel in footwear again. That means the world to both of us. My podiatrist recommended HOKA shoes for me. I would pass Beck's every day on my way home from work, so that day, on a whim, stopped by. I had the good fortune of being helped by Robert B. The store was quite busy, and he was the only one there, at the time, but he made every customer feel seen and heard. He took his time with me, measured my feet, explained the anatomy and physics of wearing proper footwear, advantages/disadvantages of certain shoes and brought several pairs for me to try. He is amazing. Best of all, he told me that New Balance is a great, less expensive alternative to HOKA. I tried them both, and liked the look and feel of NB better. I was thankful that he didn't upsell one brand over the other, just to make a higher sale. If you're seeking old fashioned, good faith customer service, this is the store for you. read more

I've been visiting this Beck's off and on for YEARS and though I might not always find what I'm looking for, the staff and selection are always great. This particular location tends to have a good selection of sale items, GREAT options for work boots, nice fashion shoes for women, and a great selection of sneakers. It's one of the biggest locations they have I think. I have also visited the Reno location which is smaller but still has great staff. Beck's in general is a great place for quality shoes at a fair price. Don't expect $20 shoes here but you ARE getting what you pay for! Some brands I like here are Dansko, Aetrex, and ecco. Plus the occasional Doc Marten. Now, this location is even BETTER because Robert from a different shoe store I would frequent is here at Beck's! He helped me at my last visit and made me feel like a princess despite my extremely picky feet. Sadly, my feet were just too fickle that day despite Robert's best efforts. But I won't hesitate to come back!!!! read more

Super wonderful experience at this store, I got to try on so many new shoe brands with no judgement! It has been forever since I had my feet properly measured. Veronica helped me find the best insoles, and a new gym/hiking shoes, and plus potential professional wear with a heel that did not hurt --maybe next time I will consider buying. For a young person transitioning to better supported shoes (lol, like arch support, etc.), it was a nice shopping experience. At no point was I pressured to buy more. They also have a scan machine thing for locating foot pain, which I visited a podiatrist previous to shopping here, but it was cool to see. Went to Becks looking for some shoes to help alleviate some foot pain I've been having. The clerk there Brandon helped me out and he was awesome! He took my foot pressure point test. Measurements, even noticed one of my feet is longer than the other! He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Made it easy for me to choose between a few pairs for my specific needs in what otherwise would have taken me forever. I'm very happy with my visit to this store last week. I wanted to try out a pair of Kizik slip-on shoes because of the inconveniece of having to deal with the shoe laces on my sneakers. The salesperson Robert measured my feet and gave me two different sizes of Lima to try. The shoes felt great but they did not have the exact size that I needed. They had half a size larger and half a size smaller. Robert called their other stores, found that the Blossom Hill location had my size and had them put it aside for me. I was able to get the shoes the same day. Not all of their stores carry Kizik shoes. I first went to their Milpitas location and found out that it does not carry these shoes. I was redirected to the Cambrian Park location. The stores do not seem to carry the same shoes selection. Just something to keep in mind if you are looking for a specific shoe. I first came here in May of 2016 looking for some comfortable but classy sandals that my daughter could wear for her high school graduation. We were treated so well. So why I didn't remember to come back here more often is beyond me. Although I walk around bare foot most of the time. About five years ago, hubby and I went to another place specializing in sports products and it was suggested he get Hoka brand. He loved them so much that he wore them just about every day. Flash forward & I saw the inside of them and said "You need new shoes." He did not want to go back to the prior place because he felt they used high pressure tactics. I don't know if they did or not, but that was his perception. I did a quick search and hooray! Beck's has Hokas. So I dragged him down there. We had a lovely person waiting on us who was super helpful. She helped him narrow it down and brought him both colors. He tried on one and I paid and he wore them out of the store and still wears them almost every day. The price was competitive. It was closer to us, and parking wasn't too bad. Next time, I'll remember to go here. read more

I went to look for something specific today and I had not been to a Beck's Shoes since they were in Sunnyvale. Wow, what a difference in customer service. A lady asked if she could help me, and I asked her a few questions about a couple different brands of shoes, as I was not thrilled with my Brooks shoes that I got at REI less than a year ago. She spent maybe four minutes with me, told me that the Hoka's were the best (I had told her I already have some), and the ones she suggested were almost $200! As I'm still looking at shoes, thinking we were in conversation, she just walked away. Walked away! Went to the back room and completely abandoned me. Another lady was helping a customer at the desk, and there was another lady roaming around and after standing there for 10 minutes, yes, I timed it.......I went up to that different lady who was walking around and asked if I could get some help and she said "I'll be with you in a moment." Then she went behind the counter to help the original lady who had spoken with me. My original lady was actually at the counter ringing a different person up, and I didn't know where the other lady who was at the register before went. I roamed around and looked at a couple more things, and decided to leave. In retail, you don't start talking to a customer and then just walk away without saying a word and go to the back room and just leave them there. What is wrong with these people? I'm never going back. Customer service in this country has gone down the flusher. read more

Super friendly. My husband was exasperated after a long day of fails while shoe shopping, he wears a 13.5 and has insanely wide feet, hammer toes, the works. After bringing out almost every shoe they had that might fit him, he found a pair he loves. Pic was right before his magical moment, but you can see the pile of shoes they brought out for him! This Beck's location on Union Ave is outstanding with strong customer support provided to their customers. Freddy and his manager assisted us today with our questions and concerns about finding comfortable shoes. We tried on multiple pairs of shoes each, as we weren't sure of our exact sizes and even though we stayed a couple hours and there were other customers being assisted as well, the manager and sales associate continued to check in on multiple customers without forgetting about us despite it getting a bit busy. Freddy provided a scan for our feet, measured our exact shoe size, and brought us multiple pairs of shoes in various sizes each time something did not fit quite right. We ended up purchasing some aetrex inserts as well as two pairs of shoes each including New Balance Sneakers, Hokas, Olukai's, and Aetrex platforms. Fantastic shopping experience you can't get anywhere else. I bought some Hokas, from Veronica. She is absolutely awesome! She took the time I needed to work with me and hopefully find a solution for my back issue. She was busy, but found the time to come back and check on me. I took them home, tried to break them in. Unfortunately they weren't for me. I brought them back, and thought I'd revisit a couple other styles. Unfortunately Veronica was off. I should've left at that point!!There was a gentleman and a lady working there. There was 2 other people in the store. I waited quite awhile. The guy said he'd be right with me, while I was just looking around, another person walked in. He immediately helped that customer. The lady kind of helped me, told me they didn't have the size I needed on 1 style, showed me some other shoes and never came back. A group of guys came in looking for work shoes. Both of them never gave me the time of day after that. I actually walked up to the counter and asked what days Veronica worked and told them to finish my refund since they were too busy to help me. Customer service from the older sales person was horrible. (Cambrian location, Campbell area). I talked to a younger sales person(new hire) and mentioned to her I have a voucher for safety/Static Dissipating shoes for work namely a Birkenstock brand. She pointed to the sandals. So she asks the old arrogant sales guy and he says they don't carry a Birkenstock SD shoes. I mentioned that a coworker purchased the SD Birkenstock shoes yesterday at this store. I messaged my coworker to send me the picture of the Birkenstock shoes with the model. He sent it asap. Arrogant sales guy kept insisting they don't carry it and he says he's surprised it even passes SD. I talked to another employee at the store and showed him the text photo of the SD Birkenstock shoes and he said "we have those, let me check in the back for inventory". Guess what? He showed them to me but unfortunately it was 2 sizes too big for me. Before I left, there was a lady testing shoes and told her to be wary of the arrogant sales guy who helping her. Arrogant guy went to the back of the store. So I told her he's arrogant and go somewhere else. She said she noticed that about him and assured me that she's undecided if she's buying or not. I'm sure the ratings are correct,4.5 stars, unfortunately this experience is only a 1. End of rant. read more

I've been here twice, every time I have visited, the customer service is outstanding. What really makes it 5 stars for me, is they are very knowledgeable! I have a lot of problems with my feet, I wore in my go-to athletic shoes, the shoes I recently bought, and we discussed what was feeling good and what wasn't. She did a full sizing/width analysis, had me try on lots of shoes and actually watched me walk. She helped me to understand why other shoes were hurting me and how to make it as easy for me to walk as possible. I've been to Fleet Feet, Footwear etc, DSW's and Beck's is by far the most helpful. It is much more expensive than DSW, however with the expert advice, I'm going to be able to walk more and hurt less. I've chatted with 3-4 employees there and all of them were amazing. read more

They have a huge selection of nonslip and metal toe shoes that are required in the workplace. James was very helpful and suggested the perfect shoes and orthotics for my men. My Mom-in-Law is going on 101 years old. While she has difficulty getting around and resides in assisted living. She likes going out to choose her shoes. We've been to Becks on Union before and we'll be going again. Tyce met us as we helped Sue through the door and to a seat. He focused his attention on her--not us, and in the kindest and most patient way worked with her until he found two pairs of shoes that she just loved. He understood and acknowledged some of the physical challenges she was having with her feet, but made a super effort to find shoes that she not only liked, but that worked around her issues. We're so happy that Beck's selects their employees for more than just their knowledge of shoes. Tyce understands the other things that matter to people--like listening and kindness. My wife and I were so impressed with Tyce and Sue mentioned on the way home, "Wasn't he nice...and he knew his stuff." We agree in spades and are so grateful that Tyce made this a happy day for her. I had the good fortune to visit this store after learning that my Sunnyvale store had closed. I had called previously since I like to prep the person I am going to work with. I have some issues with my feet and finding the right shoes. Beck's has that figured out for me and had done a great job over the years with finding just what I need whether it be athletic shoes or shoes for my son's wedding. I arrived early to meet "G" who I had spoken to on the phone. He was everything I had hoped for and more! He really knows his stuff! It's impressive the training Beck's does with their employees. They seems to know so much about the shoes they carry and why they are good for your feet or why they fit they way they do. I spent over an hour with "G" and was happy with my purchase. After generations of my family shopping here, I can confidently say the loyalty is over. I had purchased sandals here just before the pandemic began. The last pair I had for 10 years, and would get them resoled as needed. On this pair, one of the straps broke entirely where it goes into the footbed and did not appear to be repairable. I had been looking for my receipt and hadn't yet found it. But when I was driving by the other day, I stopped in just to talk to them about my options. I've always had a good experience here and thought they'd have some ideas of what could be done. An employee who was talking a lot about how he had been selling shoes since the 70's (to the previous customer) fielded my questions. We tried to find my purchase in the system by phone number and it wasn't there. He did say that he could see the many purchases my family had made over the years (while he was looking at the screen). He told me that "Birkenstocks break all the time", often "in the first six months". (Then why do you sell and stand by them???) The two pairs I've had in the past both lasted ten years. Then it got really strange. He came around the desk and loudly said my sandals look "really worn out" which they do not. They look exactly like the day I got them except the unattached strap and the leather of the insole is darker. (I've been caring for an elder, at home, going almost nowhere for the entire pandemic and have only worn them on occasion, mostly around the house.) He said it really loudly and seemed to be calling the attention of the other customers and employees as if to embarrass me, get them on his "side" and make sure I never come back with my receipt. He kept repeating himself and getting louder each time. I was literally just in awe of his bizarre defensiveness and raising of his voice, as though he was trying to make a spectacle of the moment. All things said and done, I didn't appreciate being nearly yelled at. The rest is his problem, and I hope he gets help with that. I will not be back and neither will anyone in my family ever again. I went to this store earlier today (03/13/2019) at around 7 pm. When I went into the store, there were no customers in the store but one man at the counter acknowledged and welcomed me. I told the guy that I was looking for a pair of running shoes but also did not know what to look for when choosing running shoes. He led me to the running shoes section and also to a scanning machine and scanned my feet so that proper fitting shoes can be selected. However when new customers (a couple, man and woman together) walked into the store, the worker's attention completely went to the new people. He sat me in the chair, saying "let me get them some boots real quick and I'll be right back". However he stayed with the couple, helping the man to try the boots and started ringing the cash register. I don't know what prompted the worker to attend the other customers before me (maybe they looked wealthier and more likely to make the purchase?) but it was very clear that I came into the store first. I walked out of the store when the worker was ringing the cash register for the other customers. read more
