    Vanilla latte

This place is fairly new and it was our first time trying it out. The employees were so very pleasant! Our waiter was a young man and he was very respectful! We got the goat cheese tartine as an appetizer and it was probably my favorite part! The crab cakes were really good and you get 2 great sizes! Plus it comes with 2 sides of your choosing! Everything is priced at a reasonable value for the amount of food you get. I also finished the meal off with a vanilla latte, so good! I will definitely be back again

Delicious food, fabulous service and our server Carly was an angel. Drinks were on point too!! You have to try the key lime martini!

I recently had the chance to check out Bedford House in the South Side, and I was seriously impressed. First and foremostt... the food. You can absolutely tell everything is made from scratch. Every bite tasted intentional and thoughtfully prepared. The goat cheese tartine was a standout for me. Perfectly balanced, fresh, and layered without being overcomplicated. And the house-made bread? Delicious! Our entres were even more impressive. Overall, the food was everything we'd hoped it would be. It's one of those places where you're already planning what you're ordering next time before you've even left. The space itself is beautiful. They've done such an incredible job restoring the historic building -- it feels elevated and upscale, but still comfortable. It feels like the kind of place you can meet friends, have a great meal, and actually catch up. Service was also fantastic! They were attentive without hovering and genuinely welcoming. It's tucked away at the end of South Side, right across from Club Cafe, which makes it feel like a hidden gem. Highly recommend checking it out. Definitely a great new addition to the neighborhood... We will be back!

Went here this past Saturday and really enjoyed it. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. The food was really good. I was surprised that they have whole wings. They were perfectly cooked and the seasoning was good! The burger was perfectly cooked and delicious. The drink was good too. Overall, no complaints!

This place is a southside miracle. It is bright, elegant casual, and the food is really good. It has something for everybody. Real napkins, real tablecloths, real dishes, and real food and drinks. Everything is prepared well. Vegetables were real; real beautiful colored carrots, real Brussel sprouts, baked potato or fries, with everything looking as it should. The servers were very professional and really pleasant. The bartender was friendly and appeared to have experience. The owner was present and concerned that everything was up to standards. This is such a great addition to the South Side.

    Shrimp and linguine.

Holy cow. Where do I start? The restaurant is done so well and with a great menu. The staff were fantastic. I had the Shrimp and Linguine and it was excellent. The charred peach old fashioned was also really good. Imagine a neighborhood restaurant where guests thank the owner for how good their meals were. A family dinner, a date night, a place to unwind with a great meal and cocktail after the week - this place does it all. All their bread is made onsite, the burgers are ground onsite as well. How do I know? The owner gave me a tour. Highly recommended.

My new go to for date night or drinks out with friends. My fav was the lychee spirtz and PLT sandwich. We like how the bar and dining area is separated so it can be the right vibe for any occasion. Service was attentive and quick. Easy to find free parking. Great natural light and a chill setting overall.

The inside is not especially new, but it's charming. Feels like the space was a former home turned restaurant. It's dark and has lots of wood but very clean. Service was casual and friendly and the decor felt kind of homey, like a typical tavern. They have a large and creative drink menu. I got an espresso martini with tequila and it was perfect. Their menu is pretty diverse with everything from a crab cake patty melt to a pork belly bahn mi. I got the stuffed chicken entree with confit herbed fingerling potatoes. The chicken had a great flavor and I loved the mushrooms and caramelized onion sauce inside. The potatoes were delish. I was also intrigued by their mac and cheese entree and fried pickled tomatoes. Unfortunately. I'm not from the area and doubt I'll return for these but they sound delicious. Mt friend for the gastro burger without bun. Looked good.

Went here on a recent trip to Pittsburgh. It was a pretty tough experience…read more Started with our server seating us and then explaining that they were out of a few things. Normally I'd say this isn't a big deal: two entrees and an appetizers. It happens. But the list continued to grow throughout the night (read on intrepid Yelper!). She left to grab some waters and came back about 15 minutes later. And then dashed off again. Finally put our orders in (was told then they were also out of some sodas and another appetizer, again it happens... but to this degree?) and waited for our drinks and food. And waited and waited and waited. Got our drinks 45 minutes after we sat down; importantly the place was not busy. During that time we were revisited once to be told they were out of another entree that some people had ordered. So some orders had to change. Appetizers took a full hour to show up. Entrees took another 30 minutes. Asked for some condiments - "we don't have that." Look, I get it restaurants have days when people call in or don't show up. Restaurants run out of stuff. But this was excessive. We were rarely checked on even to be given an ongoing apology just to let us know "hey I know this sucks, I recognize it and I'm sorry." We ran out of water (they bring a big bottle and you're on your own to refill it, and once that ran out we were just out of luck). If the food or drinks were really exceptional then some of this gets washed away. Unfortunately the food was just standard bar fare. It wasn't special. It was epically "serviceable." I do not recommend going. You're going to be far better off just taking the trolley back down and going somewhere else.

Examples of menu items are chicken and waffles, grits, sandwiches, salads, loaded fries, and wings. I was a customer here once for takeout. One of the owners promptly greeted me, took my order and payment, and made pleasant conversation while I waited for my foods to be cooked. She showed me the cool lit-up selfie spot near the bathroom mirror and door. I ordered the Troomy Chicken Club (grilled chicken tenders, bacon, troomy sauce, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, and onion) with a side of Loaded Fries and also six Whole Wings with my chosen flavor of parmesan. All three foods were very fresh and tasty very good, but I would recommend adding a bit more parmesan to the wings.

The pickle chips with Troomy sauce were perfectly crisp and flavorful, and the loaded fries were a perfect shareable appetizer. Notes of spice, wood, nuts, and slight fruit. The taste was great, but just smelling it was pretty intense. The salmon dish was great. The ginger carrot mash was seasoned and puréed enough that it didn't taste like eating just carrots. They cooked the salmon too perfectly to my liking. The service was excellent too - laid back, friendly but they didn't play either about getting your order on time. Solid bar/restaurant, 8.5 / 10.

I wanted to place a carryout order. I first tried online but there was a glitch somewhere in the system. I called instead. When the phone was answered, the background noise was intense. It was so loud that the employee couldn't hear me. At that point I decided to just go in and order. When I walked into Urban Tap, the noise was almost deafening. Music blaring, voices raised to be heard. No one was using their "inside voices", they couldn't. I sat at the bar to order. I never got waited on. I finally caught the attention of one of the bartenders and was ready to place an order. We leaned towards each other, yelling to try to be heard. I couldn't hear her when she read back my order. I really wasn't sure what I'd be getting. Unfortunately, I did get what I ordered - brunch breads and an order of biscuits. It took quite a while to get food - no surprise there. I checked our food when I got it. Oh Lordy, those biscuits looked good. This southern girl appreciates a good biscuit and did these look good. I got the food to the car and we headed out on the next leg of our adventure. About an hour later, I just had to grab one of those golden, flaky discs. Butter? Jam? Nah, the biscuits looked like they could solo on their own. I took one bite and my eyes flew open - not from the deliciousness, it was because of the sheer amount of salt. That can't be right so I took another small bite. I tried a teeny bite of the next biscuit. Salt. The biscuits were inedible. No, I don't mean that I didn't like the flavor. They contained so much salt that there was no way someone could eat these. That's ok, there was the banana bread French toast. It looked a little dark in color but it never crossed my mind that this might not be normal. I took a bite. It tasted odd, off, something wasn't right. My husband pegged it - it was burned. Before grilling or after? No idea. There were also a couple of donut holes. Not even worthy of a second bite. I also ordered fruit. It was good but still not enough to save the meal from dismal failure. We won't be back .
