Came here on a visit to Pittsburgh. The pierogis were delicious! Please order. No parking. We did valet for $9 on a Friday night. The Duquesne Incline outlook is right out the front door. Love the atmosphere. It is pretty small and they immediately asked if we had a reservation and we did not so we got stuck at the back by the kitchen. Service was great and they replaced the bowl with buffalo chicken (not pictured). The rice in the bowl was hard and the sauce is spicy! The buffalo chicken was so much better. It is real chicken breast in buffalo sauce. I don't eat meat but this was all shared by my date. Someone was talking walking around giving free shots and we certainly took them. Started off great - Host graciously helped us secure an outdoor table for the great views on a perfect sundown and our drinks, chips and queso came out hot and tasty. Very good Marg and cold IC Lights. Our server was friendly and efficient to start... Then, the large motorcycle club that had secured upstairs must have drained resources and attention from us. We ordered a pizza and two french dips that took close to another 30-40 minutes to come out! With a hungry teenager that was hitting DefCon 1. As well, the pizza came out undercooked - looked completely different than the pizzas that came out for other, earlier-served tables. It was barely edible. As were our french dips that were either hurriedly assembled or sitting out and were dry and lacking any flavor. The jus had potential and the fries were good, but after an excruciating wait we were disappointed. Host/manager was kind enough to take our entrees off and offered free dessert but we were already there too long to enjoy it any further. Hard to believe the calamity of errors! We started with the Buffalo Brussel Sprouts and warm Baked Burrata. Both were OK. When our orders came out 4 of 6 were not correct. A couple had tacos that ordered the corn tortillas but received the flour. One person said I'll have the same as that person who ordered just before him. Well his order was completely wrong, so they did correct but we all watched him eat by himself. We had to track down our waitress for drinks and then when the drinks were served they were put at the other end of the table away from who ordered! A very memorable experience!!! read more

This restaurant is just outside the Duquesne incline station. Fantastic views. We got seated almost immediately on a Sunday evening . But then the waitress took 15 mins to come to us which was fine. However the food took almost 45 mins to come and at no point did the server check in and let us know what was going on. and when it did finally come it was cold. The food tasted good but then after an hour long wait anything will taste great. Great place to grab a quick snack at after you go to the top of the Duquesne incline! Service was quick and friendly. You can sit on the second level and see an overlook of the city. The shrimp were nicely breaded and the sauce was very good. They have a variety of specialty cocktails. I had the pomegranate mule which was strong and tasted good. Highly recommend! The server told me it's their least ordered cocktail, which I was shocked to hear! Get it people! You'll love it! For dinner I got the southwest bowl (I think that's what it is called) and it was amazing! Rice, black beans, cabbage, carrots, avocado, and a super spicy aioli! Highly recommend! It was filling and had such great textures and tasted amazing! The sauce is super spicy so I would probably get less of it next time. My fiancé got Buffalo pierogies that he said were awesome and boneless wings that he said tasted good but were a touch overdone. When we first walked in, there weren't many people there but that changed in a split second and it was super busy! You can make reservations but we didn't! Swing and a miss for me. Reservation for Easter 11:30. Greeted by the bartender with Indifference and seated in the back table for four. Rap music playing at a fairly high level. Our server was super nice and took our drink orders despite us not receiving any drink menus. I was craving a Bloody Mary so that is what I ordered. Looks like they offer flights of them too after seeing a post on their tv screen but he didn't ask me if I wanted to try or what sort of bloody so I guess I got their standard. It was delicious (charged extra for Tito's without me requesting). Ordered a special of the day (California Benedict) and it did not have avocado as advertised. I didn't realize right away so kept eating. The poached eggs were fully cooked so dry and very thin/bland hollandaise sauce. No side of potatoes or anything. Roasted red peppers were just standard diced red peppers from what I could tell. Tasteless. Dud of a breakfast. My daughter really liked the strawberry French toast and my wife said her frittata was ok. My meal was $16 and that bloody was $10 plus upcharge so that's why the low score. My wife would give it a 3. I don't plan to make a return unless it was for their pizza or wing special. Bummer read more

After exploring PGH for a day, we wound down by taking the incline up Mt. Washington. This cool little bar was right across the street. We both enjoyed a cold yuengling, then my wife had an espresso martini, while I told the waitress to surprise me. I can't even remember what exactly it was but it was similar to an old fashioned. We really enjoyed sitting outside and sipping on some drinks. Definitely recommend. read more

First, parking is hard to come by on the street unless you want to pay $10 for the gated lot behind the restaurant. I stopped in a couple weeks ago to have a nice cold IPA on a super hot day after showing my gf one of my favorite places in the city for the first time, the Duquesne incline observation deck. I always try to stop in here and enjoy a refreshment while on the hill checking out the views or before and/or after having dinner at one of the many great restaurants on Mt. Washington. It's a great little spot with good food, great drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere. The service wasn't that great on the day we went, but I get it the hill was packed with many wedding parties it seems and I know how those people can take a toll on you. Either way, I've had many great experiences here and I recommend it no matter what. read more

Ambiance is full energy (between the chatter at the tables and loud music) but is expected for this type of establishment. Diverse craft beer menu and unique cocktails quench our thirst. Server was super friendly and attentive, and was very helpful. Our group of seven ordered loaded fries, pickle pizza, cheese pizza, spicy burger, Reuben sandwich and burrata cheese app. Everyone enjoyed their food and portion size was plentiful. I had the spicy inferno burger and it was great but I could take a lot more heat. My only complaint were the side fries came out limp and not hot and crispy. I wanted to share some feedback about our experience. Overall the staff was friendly, but we had an issue with how drinks were handled at our table. Our group ordered drinks for three people. The server brought drinks for two of us but told my wife she needed to wait a bit before she could be served another drink. What made this confusing is that I had clearly been drinking more than my wife throughout the evening, yet I was served another drink while she was not. Went out for the Steelers game. It was a late game and I wasn't sure where to go due to freezing weather and a Saturday game. I figured every place would be packed. Soooooo glad we randomly checked out this place. My 2 friends and I rode the Duquesne Incline on a rainy Sunday in Pittsburgh, living our best touristy lives. We went to the observation deck to check out the views, and I just so happened to notice an "open for brunch" sign. I told that as the Lord telling us that we needed mimosas or drinks of any kind after riding around, up, down, and through the winding mountains of Pittsburgh. We went in to get our of the mist and were surprised to only see 2 other people in the whole place. Hoping we didn't make a terrible decision, we asked for menus and ordered drinks off the seasonal wall chalkboard menu. We couldn't have picked a better spot before we headed back home to Cleveland! That Chai Old Fashioned was soooo good. Can't wait to attempt to make it at home. We ordered entrees and apps to split and two cocktails each. Of everything we ordered, the only item I wouldn't get again was the fried deviled eggs. They had good flavor but I think the frying makes the whites a bit rubbery. Everything else was...chef's kiss! Definitely get the fried polenta. I want to say our bartender was Dave (forgive me if I'm wrong) it's been maybe 2-3 weeks since we went. He was awesome!
