Revival on Lincoln is an elegant-casual restaurant inside a mansion that was built in 1902 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its architecture and interior design look beautiful and take you back in time. Its menu rotates seasonally, but example foods are caesar salad, chicken romano, salmon, NY strip steak, pork chop, vegetarian plate, cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and creme brûlée. Many wines, cocktails, and beers are available. Customers may either dine in or get takeout. My husband and I ate one dinner here. The hostess/waitress promptly seated us, took our order, brought out our foods, accurately charged us, and thanked us. Here are my ratings for what my husband and I ate during our three-course meal: March salad - 5 stars - This fresh salad contained a lettuce blend, goat cheese, beets, cauliflower, sunflower seeds, and a delicious celery-seed dressing. Shrimp bisque - 4.5 stars - My husband did not like this shrimp-flavored soup, but I did like it. Crab cakes - 5 stars - I received two HUGE Chesapeake-style crab cakes that were almost purely crab meat. They were much larger than what other restaurants serve, and they tasted fantastic. My husband said that they were some of the best crab cakes that we have eaten in a while. The sides were rice pilaf and cream spinach. Corned beef - 3 stars - My husband does not like many foods, so he barely ate these beef slices on top of potato cakes, cabbage, and horseradish sauce. Given his preferences, he should have ordered a safer entree. I took a bite of this entree and thought that it tasted alright. Lemon curd - 4.5 stars - My dessert was two lemon bars served with fresh blackberries, blackberry compote, and whipped cream. I liked the combination of sour and sweet flavors. The total bill was $104 plus tax and tip. THANK YOU to the gentleman who was sitting at the table next to me and noticed that I had accidentally left behind my take-home container of leftover crab cake. He followed me outside and handed me the container. Thank you! Important information: Walk-ins are welcome, but restaurants via Resy are recommended. The dress code is smart casual. I wore a casual dress, and my husband wore a polo shirt and jeans. I saw another customer wearing a business suit. The website mentions parking vehicles either at nearby street meters or in limited residential parking spots. An ADA parking spot is behind the restaurant. This is an old Funeral Home converted to a restaurant. Very quaint building with historic designation. Service is absolutely outstanding. Katrina was exceptional, very accommodating and very informative. The mushroom appetizer with balsamic was excellent. Crab cakes were huge with lots of crab meat. Stopped in for restaurant week. There was a special menu for the week. A musician playing music. Really nice older house with smaller dining areas. Very busy and it did take a tad for our waitress to show up. We all started with the Gumbo that was very good with a nice spice level. Everyone enjoyed their main course, Pan Seared Shrimp , Chicken Romano and Revival Crab Cake. The crab cake came on cream corn and with roasted potatoes. Revival on Lincoln was a welcomed surprise! Bellevue isn't an area that we frequent often, but this hidden gem is worth the trip! We visited Revival for Pittsburgh Restaurant Week, and it couldn't have been a been a better experience! I love history of the old house where the Restaurant is housed. From the old staircase to the beautifully decorated bathroom, you feel transported to another Era! We sat near the balcony and old fireplace that would have been the original owners' bedroom. It was quaint and had a great view of the rest of the Room. We got a 3 course meal, and the food from beginning to end was excellent. But the star of the show was the CRAB CAKE! The chef is from Maryland, and this crab cake tasted exactly like one that I had at the Rusty Scupper in Maryland's Baltimore Harbor. It was the BEST crabcake I've ever had! Here's what else we had: [Crab Cake]: Filled with jumbo lump crab and perfectly seasoned. Even the potatoes were flavorful without a sauce or much seasoning. [Charcuterie Board]: This charcuterie board was perfectly picked. There were both hard and soft cheeses, and the jams and sauces meshed well. The portion size was great for an appetizer! [Tiramisu]: I'm not a coffee person, but I wanted to give it a try! It did not have an overwhelming coffee taste, but it was definitely there to let you know it's a classic tiramisu. This place is a little out of the way for us, but we thought we would check it out for Restaurant Week. Revival, a restored mansion from the 1900's, has so much character and charm. We were seated on the second floor at a cozy table for two right near the fireplace. There were plenty of options to choose from their 3-course PRW menu. The crab cake was amazing!! All crab, no filler, and well-portioned. Service was a little slow - we would have liked to have ordered a second round of drinks, but our waitress was handling most of the tables on the second floor so we didn't get a chance to do so. I also didn't like the fact that they automatically included 20% gratuity on our check. Seems a little sneaky - and if you aren't paying attention (or had a couple drinks), it would be easy to leave additional tip on top of the included gratuity. Parking is a little difficult, too. We had to drive around for a little to avoid parking in the nearby permit parking only areas. All in all it was a great meal, but I don't know if I would go out of my way for this place. read more

We got reservations for Valentine's Day featuring a select list of options in three courses. The prices were pretty high for the dinner but probably pretty average for Valentine's day menus. We started with two cocktails - a Revival Manhattan that I really enjoyed and a Vodka Sidecar that my better half really liked. We selected a $75 Surf and Turf/Filet and a $70 Filet Mignon for the entrees along with a Mediterranean Lettuce blend and Beet salad that was very tasty. The meat was cooked perfectly medium rare and the sides of Bok Choy, Green Beans, and Panko Crusted potatoes were prepared nicely. The desserts were very good - Strawberry shortcake and Apple Cobbler with ice cream. The rooms are very nicely done although a little bit crowded. We had a very large party seated at a round table next to us that turned into sort of a train wreck as the night wore on. They literally had our server in tears. Granted, on this particular night, their kitchen and service teams were not timing things very well but the real issue seemed to stem from the bar. The drinks were super slow to arrive and the natives were restless. Things got so bad at one point that the waitress offered us free glasses of wine to make up for the delays and the noisy unhappy diners next to us. I have to imagine this situation was probably an anomaly but nonetheless gave us pause. We might try it again but at that price point, there's a lot of other options. read more

A group of 4 of us decided to try this restaurant tonight. We had a reservation and were seated immediately upon entry. Our waitress was excellent, very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant as well as the menu which changes weekly per the waitress and attentive. Now for the food; the menu was a little confusing however the waitress explained it well. We each got something from the starter course which were mostly individualized. Caesar salad was kind of basic, good though. Balsamic glazed mushrooms were delicious. Appetizer plate was pretty good. Wedding soup looked small however was full of the good stuff and very flavorful. The second course: the couple we were with both hit the special which was the surf and turf which included a crab cake each, strip steak, vegetable sides. They both loved their meal. My husband had the chicken Romano and felt it was perfectly cooked and I had the salmon over Angel hair pasta; a bit lacking in flavor but cooked well. We passed on the third dessert course as we were quite full! All in all, aside from trying to find street parking; it was an enjoyable experience and we will return. read more

I must go against the general opinion of 5-star experience and land on a less than favorable rating of 2.5. I cannot give a 2.5, so I must round down to 2 and here is why. I will start with the good. Reservations were easy to make through their website. The venue is cool. The building is a (restored) 1900's mansion. It is impressive. The architectural details are beautiful. The space is somehow both cozy and roomy. You feel like you stepped back in time. We were seated shortly after walking in at a small table in the same area the hostess stand. Our server was polite and knowledgeable. I ordered a drink, the Revival Manhattan-$13.00. The drink was good and the price in line for the upscale environment. Next, I ordered a beet and walnut salad-$10.00. Ten dollars seems to be a bargain for a salad in a fine dinning atmosphere, but honestly it fell flat. It mostly consisted of walnuts with two balls of cheese and some slightly too toothsome beets over some boxed spring mix. The salad was also incredibly small. Spread out over a long skinny plate it gave the allusion of more food but what was equivalent to about 5 bites. I was really hoping my entrée would hit it out of the park, though the description of it was quite pedestrian. I ordered the vegetarian bowl. It had a tomato broth base, cubed sweet potatoes, chickpeas, wilted spinach, herbs with a larger (AKA not cubed like the rest of the ingredients) stalk of broccolini lay dead center. What my eyes could only describe to one without a picture is reminiscent of canned vegetable soup. Disappointing is being nice about it. I can't remember the exact price, but I believe it was $22.00. Pretty expensive soup for what was presented. I could not finish the soup and asked to take the remaining soup home. The server collected the leftovers to take to the kitchen and package up, and while doing so asked if we were there for any special occasion. It was our 10th wedding anniversary. He congratulated us and offered a dessert on the house which is classy and appreciated. The dessert was chocolate mousse that he delivered with two spoons. Our meal was not quite what I thought it would be and I left underwhelmed with the experience. Though there were some highlights that night, there were a lot of let downs. The big kicker is when we got home, my husband, who carried my leftovers to the car, picked up the bag that the leftover soup was placed in by the staff, and it was all through the bag. The staff put my leftover soup in a paper to-go-box. A soup, in a paper box that has unsealed flaps, you know put together at the restaurant by the staff at time of take-out. Again, soup in a PAPER box. If you do not offer another way to transport a soup, I wish you would have expressed that. Instead, I was left with a plastic bag (holding my saturated paper box) with some soup still in it, most leaking out and then more leaking out of the plastic bag placed over the paper box "holding" the soup. It went directly into the trash and left a mess to clean up after. I am still stunned that someone did that, it doesn't show much awareness or care for the customer. read more

I hosted my birthday party here recently, and the owner's wife was extremely accommodating with the entire process. I could not have asked for a smoother experience. From the moment you walk in to leaving Revival, I felt welcomed like family. I heard great things about the food from friends and the drinks were wonderful, too. I loved our server as she so graciously gave us complimentary limoncello drinks to end our evening. Definitely will be coming back!!! We enjoyed their Anniversary 3-course meal last evening. I had the crab bisque, gnocchi bolognese, and cheesecake. Everything was delicious. My wife had the beet salad, salmon, and apple tart. She equally enjoyed her meal. The service was awesome, despite the entree coming in when two bites of the salad were yet to be enjoyed. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Greater Pittsburgh. I ordered the gumbo, the crab cake and chocolate mouse. My friend ordered the sliced tenderloin of pork tonnato, crab cake, and New York cheesecake. My gumbo was amazing and I tried a bite of the pork tonnato- the mix of pork and tuna sauce were a great mix. The crabcake was all crab and delicious- no filler. We got 1 crabcake- which was really big. During regular weeks- you get 2 crab cakes. I was not big on the corn relish- but it was delish, just not my favorite veggie with the crab. WOW! I have never even heard of this restaurant until about a week ago even with it being 15 minutes away from where I live. I had the privilege to eat here last night for Restaurant Week and I absolutely loved it. I am unsure if there is a parking lot, but we parked on the street about thirty second away. The walk was simple. When we walked into the restaurant, we were very politely greeted by a staff member. She knew exactly who I was because of the restaurant week reservation being for last night, and they are normally closed on Wednesdays. We were taken right to our table and our server was over within a couple minutes with cold water. Our waitresses name was Katrina, and she was absolutely phenomenal. She was very knowledgeable and always made sure we had exactly what we may have needed. If possible, I recommend requesting her as your waitress for when you try out Revival. For our first course, we ordered the Sliced Tenderloin of Pork Tonnato. It was very tender and flavorful. We also ordered the Revival Gumbo. This was my first time trying gumbo, and it was great. I now have high standards. For our second course, we ordered the Shrimp Americana and Revival Chesapeake Style Crab Cake. Each dish was amazing. I absolutely loved the crab cake. The pieces of crab were huge and the rice and spinach complimented it perfectly. For our third course we ordered the NY Style Cheesecake and Chocolate Mousse. The cheesecake was tasty, but I love chocolate and the mousse was to die for. The restaurant and bathroom were both extremely clean and the ambiance was very calming. This Illy Philly decided to try a new dining experience called Pitch Black: Dining in the Dark, and it was truly a unique and really insightful experience on utilizing your senses to really experience food on another level. The event was held at Revival on Lincoln, and the restaurant was really nice. Located in what appeared to be a historic home(?), this venue was set up nicely. Even though it's a restaurant, they managed to preserve the home and all of the original characteristics of the home. When we entered we were greeted with smiles and taken to our table. The waitstaff was attentive and the service was good. When the event started we were given an explanation on our senses and given the challenge of utilizing them when one has been taken away. The food was delicous, and it really was true that when one sense is disabled your other senses are heightened. We were able to taste the spices and seasonings in the food, and the facilitators really challenged us and made it fun with their questions. I chose the vegetarian option which consisted of A portobello mushroom, a coconut milk, and curry cauliflower rice, squash, potatoes(?), and string beans. It was delicous!!!! Dessert was some kind of variation on Bananas Foster, but there wasn't ice cream, and it tasted like breadfruit was in the dessert. Also, really good. We had a really nice evening, we were able to experience something new, and I will definitely return to experience a regular dinner here. My mom and I went for a Sunday dinner. It was beautiful outside and our waiter (I've forgotten his name unfortunately) was so attentive without bothering. The food was so so good. It's got such great ambience indoors that as we were being walked through I was almost sad I'd chosen outside for my reservation, but once we were on the patio I wasn't sad anymore. It felt like we'd been transported somewhere else. Definitely didn't feel like we were on a busy street corner. The food was all delicious. If we hadn't moved that same month we most definitely would have made it a regular spot. read more

Ughhhhhhhh..... so disappointed! We were excited to try here. Love the idea of adding more family owned businesses to any Pitt siege neighborhood. Unfortunately, Revival became increasingly saddening as the night went on. Pros: our waitress was lovely and really tried. The gentleman checking on tables (owner maybe?) was sweet and genuine. However... it didn't make up for the food and corresponding price. We started off with a very delayed soup special... chicken pot pie soup. If we were at Cracker Barrel.. good. However for a $10 special, I wanted anything unique. Had to ask for salt and a lot of pepper to make it better. For entrees, we went with the short rib and the bucatini pasta. The short rib was somehow dry, how is that possible. The pasta was boring and so bland. No amount of pepper gave it the flavor a $32 pasta deserved. Additionally, the chicken was dry. Revival on Lincoln was an option that came up while I was trying to look for a venue for a small (and slightly last minute) wedding celebration dinner. The pictures online and the menu both looked very promising, so we reached out to the restaurant to see what could be arranged. We spoke with Christine to discuss options, and she was so helpful, accommodating, and kind that we decided to not even bother calling other places on our list and immediately went with Revival. I'm so glad we did- everything about our evening there was wonderful. The staff was terrific and friendly and constantly on top of everything, the food was uniformly excellent (the chef and staff also very kindly accommodated the more limited palate of a preschooler in our party), and the ambience was perfect. We booked the Little House, a small private building adjacent to the main restaurant, and I'm glad we did- the size was perfect, and the holiday decor was cozy, festive, and tasteful, perfect for the occasion. All in all, the entire night was perfect and we couldn't have asked for anything better. I can't wait to come back to Revival the next time we're in the area to see what great new menu options they have. Whatever your occasion is, I can't recommend them enough. read more

Finally got to try Revival on Lincoln and it did not disappoint. Where do I begin? We loved almost everything. It started with the most creamy and delicious potato soup I've ever had (and I'm not even a huge potato soup fan). If I'm being really honest, I was having a hard time finding something on the menu that really spoke to me. Then like music to my ears, the waiter read the specials and he said short rib. The short rib did not disappoint. It was so tender, juicy and delicious. The only thing on the plate that I didn't really like that much was the mashed potatoes. They were whipped and not mashed. My husband had the pork chops and he said they were just ok. He was really hoping for more. It's a shame because he was really looking forward to eating them. We'll definitely be back. It's a beautiful building that was beautifully redone. They also have a nice little bar in the back. There also is a beautiful patio that will be very nice in the spring and summer. read more

We made our reservations on OpenTable and it's important to note that the restaurant prefers to do them personally, since OpenTable gets things wrong. We tried to get a reservation for 3 and were unable to do so. We made a reservation for 2 instead and were seated at a table for 4. We told the restaurant about it and sadly it sounds like this is not uncommon for OpenTable reservations. The food was delicious even though they only had the selections for restaurant week, so options were limited. Sadly, they were unwilling to make ANY substitutions during restaurant week, so if you have allergies you may want to avoid restaurant week. Another warning to those with allergies... Items on the menu for restaurant week often did NOT mention all the ingredients (i.e. both desserts included chocolate, but only one of the desserts mentioned chocolate). When we return, I'm going to be sure to ask about all ingredients, since coffee is sometimes used in cooking AND in desserts and they may hide it somewhere without my knowledge. The food was great, they have a full bar (I wasn't impressed with their cocktail choices, but was able to get something I liked), and the service was wonderful. Low lighting usually means a higher tab. In this case, it was well worth it. Unfortunately, I am not able to dine here weekly, but if I could, I would. To truly experience the place and menu, you really need to crack open your wallet , and be sure to sit back, and enjoy. After all, you are in Bellevue and this is a welcome sight . Fine dining has made its debut. This stately- looking building appears very intimidating to most of the structures surrounding it. I was very excited to step inside to experience it's beauty and warmth. The menu features a limited selection of entrees, soups, appetizers and salads. Not too overwhelming, yet the right amount of options. Our server was pleasant and professional, without being standoffish. He even offered us a bowl of soup to try when our appetizers were delayed due to a minor back up in the kitchen. The place was very busy, but manageable. After our meal, we were able to visit the other rooms upstairs. They plan to use the upstairs area for private gatherings. Very enjoyable dining experience at Revival on Lincoln. We went here for Restaurant Week and had a great time! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the restaurant/building is beautiful. We had the pork tenderloin, roasted chicken, chorizo meatballs, and bread pudding and all of it was fantastic. It was prepared perfectly with great accompaniments and came out hot and fresh. Our server was very attentive and did not rush us out even though we were the last reservation of the evening. The restaurant is in an old restored building/house and it is just beautiful. The old world charm and details are fantastic. It looks like they're still doing some renovations on the 2nd floor so I can't wait to see what they do up there! Finally bellevue has a nice resturant and in a really beautiful historic building. We came here brunch/lunch. Only negative wasn't any drinks for brunch. However the food, service and atmosphere is really nice. Me and a friend ordered the mushroom and onion gratin - basically french onion soup with mushrooms. Which was so amazing and flavorful. I had the corn and chicken chowder very thick and tons of corn. Great flavors. Main course, i had the fried bologna sandwhich that had a cheddar cheese with an onion jam, and on top was an egg over easy. Nice way to start the day. My friend had the oven bake mac and cheese. It was a heavy dish, but probably some of the best mac n cheese i had in a long time. Definitely worth try if you haven't been here yet or want to try something new. read more

Points for free food before I order. I had the omelette with caramelized onions, blistered tomatoes and shrimp. A small lightly dressed fresh green salad was on the side along with some delicious crispy potatoes. My husband got the shrimp and grits. It was creamy and cheesy which is what you always want! The poached egg was a little over done so only a some yolky golden goodness escaped. I can't wait to come for happy hour and dinner! The menu might be small, but the food packs a big punch. This restaurant is an old home in Bellevue. We dined in the sitting room, which our waitress informed us is the most requested room. The restaurant is cozy and there was live music the night of our visit. Our waitress, Alana, was very helpful in describing the menu - food and drinks. She definitely helped make the evening a great experience. We enjoyed cocktails, appetizers (the Caesar could have used a little more dressing), and sea food entrees. Nothing was short of excellent. First, the building is absolutely gorgeous. A beautifully renovated historic mansion. The renovation was well done, keeping those old timey touches but bringing the home elegantly into the 21sy century. I also loved that the music was playing softly so you don't have that problem of people having to tell over music and making the place unbearably loud. The service was great. Our server was Fred and he was knowledgeable and attentive as well as friendly. Now to what really matters, the food...this is a restaurant after all. We had the ever popular pecan crusted salmon, which was life changing. Never tasted salmon so buttery in my life. And I ordered the autumn spiced roasted chicken. The chicken was perfectly done and juicy and tender. The seasoning and topping was very fallesque. The chicken went perfectly with the potatoes and roasted vegetables. The cocktails were astounding as well. My favorite was the hendricks collins (we also ordered the mule and paloma). Finished it all with bread pudding and ice cream. I love a good bread pudding and this is easily one of the best I've had. Loved the chocolate in it instead of raisins. (I'm always team chocolate over raisins). We will definitely be back many times. I visited Revival last spring for restaurant week. My partner has severe peanut, tree nut and shellfish allergies. Revival on Lincoln has a lot of lovely shellfish dishes and our waitress was extremely accommodating and checked in everything to ensure he could ear safely. This was really lovely and meant a lot to us. As for the food, it was so delicious. My favorite was the crab cakes. We will be back! read more

Well, the place is very nice inside. The ambience is great. I really liked the public visiting the restaurant. Nice people, well-dressed, manners, etc. To the dinner part: I got steak. The waiter never asked about the doneness. He brought it... well-done! So the meal wasn't great. Then, I ordered Manhattan cocktail, and I couldn't taste anything but whiskey in it. This is such a beautiful place, it's a diamond in the rough for the Bellvue area. The renovations to the building are very impressive. Great for a wedding reception or party. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The business specializes in catering so they are only open on certain nights of the week. The food is very good. Creativity is there but restraint is used which is perfect for a multitude of diners with different preferences and restrictions. It's very obvious that everyone operating here cares about what is being served. My recommendations won't apply since the menu has changed since I was here in June but I will share anyway. Delicious fishes! We had halibut and sea bass. I've had the vegetarian curry two times, I liked the recipe better the first time during restaurant week September 2021 but at least the chefs are always trying new things out. Duck = Fantastic. I'm not a steak eater as it's a bit of a high ticket item for a restaurant order but they always have steak on the menu and it looks fantastic. The servers are great, attentive and not invasive, very informative about everything that is being served. The main bartender is very talented and knowledgeable, he also has a great personality. The wine list is appropriate for this sort of operation. I think any drink you can think of in the Bartender's Guide can be made for you here if you ask. This is truly a nostalgic fine dining experience that is a rare find these days. Don't be afraid to check out the building, when you go. This is a rare gem, highly recommended. read more

Our service was outstanding. Ask for Alana. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. The setting is beautiful- a well- appointed home setting with live music. The owner and chef is from Maryland and the crab cakes are outstanding- large and no filler. My husband cleaned his veal scallopini plate. Live music was provided, which added positively to the ambiance but was not too loud: Desserts were super delicious- blueberry cobbler with a bit of vanilla ice cream that had a crème brûlée burnt sugar crust was so good. Decided to try this place out for a late valentine's meal. I really enjoyed my evening. It's located in a large old home - I liked the small dining rooms, it gave a cozy and romantic atmosphere. They had a nice wine and cocktail list. Not huge, but had some pretty good choices. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The chef popped out toward the end of our meal to check on us and we had a nice conversation. The menu changes often. This weekend they had Shad and Roe on the menu which we were told is not very common in Western PA. My husband gave it a try and it was not the fish for him - however, the table next to us was crazy for it. So as the chef told us, "it's an acquired taste". I had the filet. It was cooked beautifully and plated simply. Overall, I am glad I tried it here. I would go back. read more
