I came in to look at a platform bedframe I saw on their website, as I wanted to see it before I…read morepurchased it. They didn't have the exact one on display, but they had a similar one. They don't carry them in the store, and the salesman offered to order it for me. However, the delivery dates that were showing for him were way later than the self-order delivery dates online. I'm on a time crunch because I wanted to get rid of my box springs and upgrade to a platform bed before I have my bedroom flooring redone later this week so that I can free up space and make that easier (and reduce the risk of damaging the new floors with extra moving of large items back and forth). The salesman suggested I order online if I needed the frame sooner, and was very low-pressure. He didn't try to convince me to get one that they have in store or anything else. I ended up ordering on the Mattress Firm website on my phone from the parking lot and it'll be delivered tomorrow :) They looked like they had a nice selection and the store was clean and organized. I'd go back to look at mattresses if/when I need a new one. But it is a little weird that the delivery dates are later for in-store orders than online self-orders.

The sales person at that time, Thomas, sold it by saying if anything at all happens it would get replaced. What he DID NOT SHARE was that the warranty is supplied by a 3rd party. My remote broke and I requested a replacement. It was only then that I found out that Mattress Firm NEVER sent my warranty information to the 3rd party (Extend). So I essentially had no coverage. I am now forced to wait 14 working days or more for Extend to get me into their system. Extend basically said they have other bigger issues and mine was not a priority. Or I can pay $99 out of pocket in addition to the $350 I already payed for the warranty. It took many phone calls to discovered that this "warranty shell game" means that Mattress Firm absolves itself from any responsibility after your extended warranty purchase. That is direct from the mouth of Derrick, the Skokie Blvd. manager. He said sorry, just wait, he could do nothing even though Mattress Firm made the egregious error of not sending in my warranty information. That is not a good answer from the company who made the error. So please save yourself a lot of time and do not shop at Mattress Firm. They are not honest.

This place sold me a mattress covered in dog hair, reeked of dog, and had a claw scratch. Their shady business practice of having the mattress double-wrapped so that I would not smell the dog stench and not allow me to see the mattress before leaving the store is just plain fraud. I returned the mattress in the same condition it was given to me, and it has been an absolute nightmare in getting my money back. I've been dealing with this matter with employee Jeremy for two months. I just now received a call from them saying they put the mattress outside for me to pick up (again), even when I told them 10+ times that I can't take a gross dog bed. They're still trying to charge me over $2k. Instead of handling this matter in a civil and responsible way, Jeremy and the manager stonewalled me and referred me to their legal department. If you want a stinky used dog bed for $2k, this is your place.

I get that commission is important but I can't consider a purchase comfortably with someone hovering around, so the lax attitude was appreciated. They have some interesting and unique stuff, but some of it looks like it's been on display too long. The floor plan is a bit messy here and scratches on display models don't scream professionalism. My buddy got some things here a while back and found them to be of good quality and value, and I'd say they have a range that gets there on the higher end price wise. They also have some cheaper stuff that looks like Amazon level furniture, so you can get a range of options. I'd recommend them if your in the market for an unique accent piece.

Even though I explained to Wally that it's against federal law to ban the animal who is not only certified but well trained, well behaved and under control. While he was apologetic, he still would not allow us in the store and would not service us. I rate this store no stars. Poorly informed, no service, no sale.
