I came in to look at a platform bedframe I saw on their website, as I wanted to see it before I purchased it. They didn't have the exact one on display, but they had a similar one. They don't carry them in the store, and the salesman offered to order it for me. However, the delivery dates that were showing for him were way later than the self-order delivery dates online. I'm on a time crunch because I wanted to get rid of my box springs and upgrade to a platform bed before I have my bedroom flooring redone later this week so that I can free up space and make that easier (and reduce the risk of damaging the new floors with extra moving of large items back and forth). The salesman suggested I order online if I needed the frame sooner, and was very low-pressure. He didn't try to convince me to get one that they have in store or anything else. I ended up ordering on the Mattress Firm website on my phone from the parking lot and it'll be delivered tomorrow :) They looked like they had a nice selection and the store was clean and organized. I'd go back to look at mattresses if/when I need a new one. But it is a little weird that the delivery dates are later for in-store orders than online self-orders. read more

See Purchased a mattress & found it too soft so exchanged it for a firmer one. The new one was also very uncomfortable. Salesman, Luis, was very helpful but told me to try sleeping on other side of bed to continue to test it. Still terrible. Texts & phone message went unanswered. Called MattressFirm headquarters. The automated response was they would get back to me,gave me a case number. Also said that if I called again I would go to the bottom of the list. I have never heard from them! I intend to buy a new Mattress, mine is less than a year old now. Had rotator cuff surgery & had to sleep in a reclining chair for 6 weeks. It was way more comfortable than my bed!!! Mattress Firm on Lake was first and only stop on my new mattress journey. Allie the manager was incredibly helpful explaining the process and gauging what kind of mattress I would likely like. She pointed to me to the one she thought I would like and I purchased it that day! I got the floor model (in great shape and marked down to roughly 50% off!), but they also had incredible deals on the other mattresses. I started my mattress search at a few department stores and found the selection limited and very pricey. I did find the mattress of my dreams (pun intended!) but it was about $1000 over my budget. I got a bottom line quote from them, and set out to see if I could beat it. Next, I went to the mattress store near my house, but the salesperson there kept trying to sell me on particular mattresses, despite the fact that I knew which one I wanted. Wilmette is close to my job, so I noticed this Mattress Firm location while on my lunch break. Dan helped me out and I already knew which mattresses I was most interested in when I walked in. Recently a neighbor of mine had mentioned a very positive experience regarding Mattress Firm in Wilmette. He appreciated the attentiveness of the representatives, bed selection and pricing. Based on his recommendation, and not really that committed to purchasing a new mattress now, I personally went into the store to review my options. Kris was there at the time and walked me thru options. There was no pressure whatsoever and he was extremely informative. Since it had been a number of years since I had purchased a bed, I was quite ignorant about the many technological changes that have been made. Kris could not have been any more helpful. After giving it some thought, I returned to the store a week later and was greeted by Edgar. He too was knowledgeable and reaffirmed my decision to make a purchase. I ultimately left after purchasing a queen bed, power base, and sheets. The seamless delivery was two days later. I could not be more pleased with the purchase. My 3 1/2 year old wasn't sure how she felt about moving to a "big girl bed", but store manager Allie made the process a happy and fun one for us all. She treated my daughter like the customer as soon as we walked in the door (I'd called ahead to prepare her!), helped her try out a bunch of options, and even skipped around the store with her. The prices were great - we went during the Memorial Day Sale - and the mattress and "bunker board" were in our house fewer than 27 hours after we walked into the store. Came in to buy a mattress. The sale was a bit higher pressure than we would have liked with a lot of attempts to upsell but we went ahead and made a decent choice. Were told we would have to wait 10 days for delivery of our choice, after selection and purchase. Ok,fine.....get a call day of delivery that they don't have the mattress but offering us the upcoming Saturday or Sunday (today). We chose Sunday. Come to day of delivery, no phone call, check order tracker to find out we've randomly been reassigned at a different delivery date several days out. Call store, takes multiple times to get through. Tried to reach manager (also our sales guy) - can't. Told there is nothing they will do to meet delivery. Commitment. When manager finally calls, has some excuse about how another location was supposed contact us. No one even tried. Still doesn't explain the 3rd delay and totally isn't ok that we weren't contacted and they aren't working to make things right. Don't shop here - you won't get your mattress and you won't get service before during or after the sale. read more

I had a little bit of a mix up during the delivery phase of my mattress ordering process, but I am giving this location a five-star rating to indicate that I had a good experience working with Dan. He helped me to pick out a mattress, and when there was the mix-up during the delivery process, he followed up the next day to make sure my mattress arrived.
