The service was quite good, and the waitress was attentive. The green drink that I chose was also very good Since there are very few organic restaurants, and the food was quite tasty I felt it deserved five stars . The service was unsatisfactory; although the employees were nice, they were slow and unaware of their customers. ordering took forever and the food arrived 25 minutes later despite only ordering one açai bowl. Not only that, but the bowl did not come with everything that was advertised. Bananas and pineapple weren't on the bowl and the granola wasn't crunchy/was stale. I have worked in the service industry for 15+ years and THOUGHT LONG AND HARD BEFORE I DECIDED TO WRITE THIS ULTIMATELY NEGATIVE REVIEW ABOUT MY 'IN-DINING" experience at Bee Organic. I feel compelled for people to be forewarned about this "so-called" restaurant and poorly-trained wait staff before coming to 'dine' here. Upon arrival we (party of 5) were met by an initially cheerful guy who gladly put tables together for us (nice, yes...but wait). Several minutes later, the same "cheerful" guy came back with a carafe of water for the table. He placed glasses but did not pour the water (but still ok)..Then after sitting for 15 minutes, we had to flag down that same guy to place the order. After placing an order for some appetizers (smoothie, pretty good guacamole and good sweet potatoes.)...we started sweating and realized that the a/c wasn't working... We asked "Can you turn the a/c up......and that guy said it was not working properly and they were trying to fix it. (ok...I understand)... We sweated it out and got our food after a longer wait than anticipated in a poorly air-conditioned place. (we anticipated a slightly longer wait than usual places...but this was a little too long) Ok...so the eggs were as good as a diner....with sprouts and olive oil on top). The veggie burger was awful....dry, spicy, and inedible. I don't know if it was the heat (no a/c) or the hunger, but me and my nephew (we had decided on a 'share' beforehand) dug into this burger...it took several bites, because I feel we honestly wanted to like it (and we were hungry)...however, it was awful....so 1/2 of this burger was left on its plate....lonely and inedible. Being still hungry, I order a grilled cheese sandwich (how can anyone mess this up?, right).......After more than 20 minutes, this grilled cheese did not arrive....this was well after everyone else had finished their meals...... I had to get up to speak with whoever was in front and cancel that grilled cheese order, ask for the veggie burger to be removed from the bill and ask for the check... Apparently, the guy had called the manager earlier...and he said that "You ate half of the veggie burger" so you have to pay for half of the burger (awful, dry, spicy, inedible). In my head I thought WOW...that struck me as absolutely absurd and VERY BAD BUSINESS. When I stated that we were more than understanding about all circumstances and were not being met in the middle...I had to State the Obvious and be 'that person'.... -the service was slow...the reply was: "we have a small kitchen" (however there was barely anyone else in the place) -the A/C Wasn't Working and we were uncomfortable for 1 1/2 hours for apps and small meals ...the reply was: "I told you the a/c was broken when you came in" (first of all...what kind of a reply is that???...also, we were NOT informed about a/c not working until we asked ...about 30 minutes into our 'absurdly-long' stay.) So this albeit 'non-exemplary' experience alone would not have compelled me to write this negative review; however, when the initially "cheerful-turned contentious" server smacked the pen down on the counter (then walked away) for me to sign the credit card receipt for this bill, as I attempted to express my gripes,I felt extremely offended. This action resonated with me and I actually have never felt so disrespected by a business representative before. I was floored at how this initially very accommodating and cheerful server could turn so very rude and off-putting when faced with customer concerns. I have never left a place without giving a gratuity...but this I'm sad to say was the first time I never tipped my server....That says a lot...if you know me. I wish you well as a business. Please take care of your customers and please train your staff accordingly. read more

This place has great food at reasonable prices. I only gave to 2 stars because the service is HORRIBLE. The servers take a long time to even say hello, they can not multi task at all. I used to live in great neck and always make it a point to hit here upon visiting. Healthy and delicious! My son loves the smoothies.

The other reviews are right about the service. It can get a little slow when it is busy but on the other hand, everything I have tried from here is good, from the hummus in the fridge, to the desserts and food, to their smoothies and juices. But the owners really need to hire more help or suck it up and treat their customers nicely despite how miserable and overwhelmed they are. Yes, they seem to resent their customers for making them so busy. If they're busy, they're doing well, so would it hurt to hire someone who knows how to smile, say hello, ask how you're doing. I don't know if it's fair to expect a higher level of niceness from a place that promotes healthy living - I believe so, because a healthy attitude should go along with it. But you can (and will) get friendlier service at your local McDonald's! Is it asking too much that the owners at least match the attitude of a McDonald's minimum wage employee?? I found Bee Organic by accident when I was in the area and I'm glad I did. The food is excellent and fresh. Everything that was ordered was extremely tasty and well prepared using all fresh ingredients. I noticed on their menu that they were available for parties so I decided to have my birthday party there. The staff was really accommodating and friendly. They were very communicative throughout the week planning the party and the menu with me. The day of the party was great! The staff worked very hard all night making sure all my guests had what they needed. The food and drinks were fantastic! The atmosphere of the restaurant is really calm and relaxing, it's a very comfortable place. This is a great place for delicious healthy food and a great atmosphere! Highly recommended! read more

The only downside for me is the fact that the order takes a bit long, so when I place my order it's usually for a pick up, I don't have the patience to dine here and wait for 30+ mins for my food. This cozy little spot hasn't figured it out unfortunately! Poor customer service - did not greet upon entering, spoke about business issues in front of customer and slow service. All I ordered was a smoothie and it took almost 10 min! I can't imagine how long it would have been if I actually ordered food. This smoothie was just shy of $8 bucks (a 16oz) and not even that cold - please use frozen fruit or add some ice please. Jamba Juice gets your smoothie done in 2-3 min and it is cold and delicious for half the price. **Note to customer, don't come here if you're trying to catch the train in the morning - You'll be late and are better off waiting until you get to Penn Station for JambaJuice. ** (Note to establishment: Overheard that you were out of bananas and going to whole foods to purchase, also observed your protein powders are 365 brand. HIRE SOME STAFF!!!!! Worst service I have ever encountered in my entire life. Don't bother going unless you plan to spend at least two hours of your life at lunch. Definitely don't go if you're even remotely hungry. It somehow takes them 20 minutes minimum to make a smoothie (and if you try to call and order in advance, they may or may not forget to fill your order). I am so thrilled to have found an organic restaurant in Great Neck! This place isn't just a juice bar, it's a full on restaurant serving delectable food. I love their juices, they have great flavors as do their salads. My daughters enjoy the pasta dishes and there's a lot of raw and vegetarian or vegan choices as well. The place isn't gluten free, but it does offer items that are gluten free. The atmosphere is very cozy and eclectic and the staff is down to earth and helpful. Sometimes it does take a bit of time to get your hot dishes, but they make everything from scratch! It's not like a pre-packaged salad from Organic Avenue in the city. It's made to order and again as I said earlier it is so very good. I highly recommend it to anyone that is concerned about eating healthy and maintaining proper nutrition and keeping organic. read more

Bee Organic really upsets me. It has such potential. The store front itself is unique, inviting and well decorated. There are even a few tables outside that you can sit with your dog at. On one hand, some dishes like their gluten free avocado toast, Cauliflower Fried Rice or their entrees are delicious and fresh. On the other, the smoothie variety is lacking and ALWAYS comes out so watery. I specifically ask for extra ice now. The service is very poor. There never seems to be enough people working. For those that are, they seem overwhelmed, frazzled and just not attentive. I think with a little more attention to detail and service this really could be a wonderful spot. read more

I came there with my family on a weekend. At first we were excited to try organic drinks as well as food. I ordered carrot juice, toast with banana and honey and egg whites with veggies. The waitress was nice, however the service was horrible. The carrot juice had celery in it, the egg whites weren't egg whites but with yolk too (I had to remind the waitress that I ordered egg whites and she said "oh, right"), and the waitress said that they ran out of toast... How can you ran out of toast if all you need is bread, milk and eggs?? I felt like they were too lazy to prepare it and if they buy it pre-made - how can I be sure it is organic?! This is probably one of the best organic food restaurants. The food is so damn fresh and tasty with a lot of flavor. Breakfast, lunch and dinner food here is bomb, one thing that threw me off though was the juices, it's mostly pulp and you usually end up with the cup being half pulp and half juice so you end up throwing the drink out unless you want to spoon eat the rest of it. In fact, Karen, has waited on us 2 out of 3 times we've eaten here and she is the best!! Very knowledgeable on the menu and super nice and friendly. I've never been disappointed by my food choice. Which is impressive considering everytime I've come here ive ordered something different. The black bean quesadillas, tri bowl, Quinoa with sautéed veggies and my absolute favorite.... the quiche dish!!! You HAVE to try the quiche. I def recommend this place for some healthy eats. I waited 25 minutes for very meh oatmeal. No one else eating in the joint, just me and my table of 3, and 25 minutes - oatmeal, 2 eggs, and a crepe. The crepe was forgettable and too thick. It should have been labelled a blintz, not a crepe. The eggs were fine, but they were eggs. My oatmeal was largely flavorless, and the owner disappeared so I never got to ask her for more maple syrup. I will not be going back here. read more

Was in Great Neck on a recent Saturday and found this place while shopping nearby. Service was not very friendly, but it was extremely slow. Waited a few minutes before an employee took my order and then he started started talking to another employee, all the while I assumed my drink was being made. After about 5 minutes the employee (who did not take my order) said to the other "don't you have to make that drink?" So I spent 10 minutes and paid about $10 for a mediocre smoothie. There's a few other smoothie places in Great Neck to try, so I don't think I'll be back to this one. read more
