    Manhattan Clam Chowder

The manhattan clam chowder and cream of chicken were both excellent! Two quarts to go and they were still piping hot even after a 30 min drive. Both soups were seasoned perfectly and tasted very fresh. Cream of chicken was perfectly thick, creamy and satisfying. Their wraps look great too, I'll have to try one next time!

It's been a while since my last review and it's been on my mind to write a review about my favorite 5 star Yelp spot, The NY Soup Exchange. I must point out, when you're in a meeting and thinking about gumbo? There must be a secret to their recipes. The owner Ken, such a nice guy. When he sees me online, he's like: Here, taste this new soup I made. It has a kick! From the amazing soups to the owner who goes out of his way to remember my name and to greet me, The NY Soup Exchange is a pleasure to have lunch. I wish the owner much prosperity in 2021!

Recently Tracee Lee Ross did an interview with Oprah expressing how enjoying soup is Self Care. NYSE has confirmed that. I love that this shop is close to work and home for me and I can stop in for lunch for real wholesome self care. The menu is extensive with options for everyone. Staff is friendly and efficient. I ordered the vegan Sorrento Spinach Lentil. I feasted my eyes on the shrimp bisque, but I cannot have the devil's dairy. Unfortunately they were out of bread during my first visit, which means I didn't need it anyway. Gotta watch carbs for a fit summer body. There's some seating near the window which was the perfect way to spend lunch break towards the early part of the spring season. I can enjoy my soup before the hot temperatures come knocking. $7 was a bit of a dip in the pocket for a pint of soup, however it sure beats paying $7 for burgers and other junk nearby. Good food is not fast food. In these times, you have to hope you get what you pay for. Definitely will be back to sample the other menu items.

Custom salad with spinach, broccoli, chick peas, black olives and feta cheese. The dressing is a house made Italian which is delicious!!!

Not good. I order a chicken noodle and tuna wrap. Food was bland. Tuna was not dressed with anything except mayo.

Our waitress was responsive to whatever we needed. The prices are a little high for the portion size, but the food is great quality. My vinho verde was a nice size pour. My husband loved the Iberian ham here. We both had the garlic shrimp which were very well flavored but unfortunately didn't have even one garlic clove, which was disappointing and there were only 6 shrimp. The olive oil they were in was great though and we dipped our food into it and they were perfectly cooked. The paella is supposed to be for 2-4 people which I can see if you have more tapas but we finished it off. It came with a healthy amount of shrimp, grilled calamari and chorizo and was perfectly seasoned. We also appreciated how the rice was a bit crispy and not mushy. The table next to ours ordered what appeared to be a very good looking fruit cobbler of some kind but we were too stuffed for dessert. They also have a weekday happy hour before 6pm that looks good with deals on booze. Really enjoyed this spot! Conveniently located in the middle of garden city with ample free parking.

The restaurant is tapas style so a lot of small plates. I thought the presentation of the food was very well done. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended great dishes. We ordered shrimp, steak on the bone, bone marrow, potatoes, polenta, broccolini, shishieto peppers, and paella for dinner to share. We all enjoyed our food. For desserts we got the lemon and blueberry pudding, was delicious. I loved the bread pudding. My grandfather enjoyed his Nutella chocolate.

The ambiance was quiet and family-style dining -- nothing too fancy, but still a nice place to sit, relax, and eat together. We ordered a variety of dishes and appetizers including the Clams Oreganata, Clams Casino, Chicken Piccata, Penne Gamberetti, Rigatoni Florentina, Baked Ziti, a Margarita Slice, Pepperoni Roll, and a basket of bread. Unfortunately, most of us left feeling disappointed overall. The Clams Casino and Clams Oreganata were around $18 each and only came with 6 very tiny clams per plate. They were okay at best, definitely not great. We've honestly paid less elsewhere for larger portions with much better flavor and quality. I really enjoy Italian food, so I'm always hoping for a memorable meal, but this one just didn't hit the mark. The Pepperoni Roll especially tasted like it wasn't fresh and may have been reheated instead of made fresh. The dough was tough and the cheese was just "eh." Most of the other entrées were decent, but nothing stood out as great. No one at the table finished h the a meal. The best parts of the meal were honestly the Margarita slice, the bread basket, and the service. Our waitress was polite, attentive, and did a very nice job throughout the evening. I hate leaving anything less than a positive review, especially after celebrating such a special occasion, but based on our experience I'm not sure I'd return. If given the chance again, I'd probably explore other Italian options nearby.
