We stopped in here to check out this jerky shop. Customer service is very good as all the workers greet you and see if you needed help with anything. There are lots of samples you can try to determine which ones you liked. They serve both smoked and dehydrated beef jerkies which have different methods of treating the meat to make the beef jerky. We ended up liking the prime rib from the dehydrated section and the Korean bbq flavor from the smoked sections. There was a small selection of vegan jerky for those who are vegetarian or vegan. Also they had a section of odd treats of cricket and meal worm candies. Their jerky isn't the best I've ever had, but worth checking out to give it a try. read more

I'll buy a bag at Trader Joes every now and then, its good to have when reaching for a scooby snack. Walking thru Tanger Outlet, I discovered this jerky store. Walking in, its meticulous and easy to navigate. There are samples to try for all their products. My wife is shaking her head, think of the salt! Hey, Did Lewis & Clark have these issues when they walked to California? That's why the stories are of Lewis & Clark, not Lewis & Clark and Mrs. Mary Lou Clark.. They jerked all the way to the west coast! After trying all the of beef, turkey, chicken and other various jerky, I decided on my favorite, the Cherry Maple smoked jerky. Go team! Prices aren't too bad, it's a well crafted product and its worth a few more coins IMHO. We finally discovered the Beef Jerky Outlet!! They have amazing customer service - as soon as we walked in, we were greeted with friendly faces who asked if we knew about their selection. We said no and they gave us the layout of the area - which sections are hard jerky, soft jerky, specialty jerky, etc. My mom loves bacon jerky and they had a good selection, including maple bacon jerky. So much jerky so little time. Ask for samples as you can try almost everything here! They have a pretty diverse jerky selection of beef, pork, turkey. Then there are also other "game" meats such as gator and elk. Cherry Maple smoked jerky is so good! They carry other flavored snacks such as popcorn and dried fruits. I also saw they have weirdo snacks like dried crickets and worms. No thanks on those. Can be a bit pricey overall, especially on the bags of jerky. Even though the store has Outlet in it's name, and they are located within the Outlet shops here, they don't have Outlet pricing. Terrible customer service! First, bought 4 bags of beef jerseys. Then asked to try a sample of one they had at counter, which was very good... soft, fresh and tasty. Bought a bag of it. Opened to have another piece after leaving store, only to discover it was dried out, brittle, and clearly NOT fresh. Returned to store where Manager Raina rudely told me that's how beef Jerky is. I explained I've had lots of jerky, this bag was dried out. I offered her to try it, which she refused. She also refused to replace the bag. She made it clear she just doesn't care! Funny, as I was on a scouting mission looking to buy a large number of bags for a friend in Sweden who can't get beef jerky. Clearly I'll buy elsewhere in the future! And FYI, I was looking for 0 to low carb beef jerky, but all of theirs is loaded with corn syrup. read more

Um, awesome? If you like your jerky, there are so many kinds here+you can try them+it's a little expensive but worth it for the variety/curiosity. I enjoyed looking at the varieties they had and I thought the cashier was very helpful. I bought a few varieties and was glad to eat more at home. Much more than jerky! You can easily tell if this is a store you'd like based on the name. If you are at the outlets anyway, it's worth stopping by. I wouldn't come to the outlets just for jerky or make this my only jerky purchasing location, but it's good for what it offers. read more

Located within Tanger Outlets (across from the Bass Pro Shop), the Beef Jerky Outlet held its grand opening over Labor Day weekend. The outlet offers a unique experience to customers with its large selection, great customer service, and SAMPLES. If you are a beef jerky lover like me, then this place is definitely a must to stop by! The jerky (which originates from Tennessee) is divided into sections depending on how the meat has been prepared and preserved: Smoked, Sausage, Dehydrated, and Biltong (a South African method). Over 20 different flavors are offered including Teriyaki, Sweet and Spicy, Peppercorn, Sweet Bourbon, Prime Rib, and more! Each flavor comes bagged in 3 sizes: ¼ lb. ($8.99), 1/2 lb. ($16.99), and 1 lb. ($29.99). Aside from jerky, the outlet offers a variety of spices and rubs, sauces, flavored popcorn and snacks. For those of you who are adventurous, they even have insects (which you can sample!). The store associates were very interactive and knowledgeable, and offered a plentiful number of samples and suggestions. I sampled over 7 flavors and found the Smoked jerky the most tender and savory, while the Biltong and Dehydrated were more tough and chewy. Per the associate's recommendation, I ended up with a ¼ lb. bag of Cherry Maple Smoked beef jerky (a customer favorite), and a "Grow Your Own" ghost chili pepper plant ($9.99). They have an interesting selection of beef, pork, and other more exotic types of jerky such as gator, elk, and kangaroo. They offer samples of some of their offerings but it's not self serve so you have to ask someone for each sample. The regular jerky is actually pretty pricey so be sure and check the prices before you decide on a purchase. The kangaroo is better than I expected! Not a must stop place but a good way to kill a few minutes if you're stuck in the outlets and maybe try some novelty jerky. The staff here is REALLY friendly even when you keep asking to try different types....not that I pigged out on samples of course. read more

That jerkey is GOOD. This isn't the stuff you pick up in the gas station. It may be a couple bucks more but it is WORTH IT. My gf and I got the prime rub one and it tasted just like an amazing steak. If you at all are the kind of person who picks up beef jerkey from the store to munch on it for like, long drives, just sitting around or just because, do yourself a favor and stop by this place and try this stuff. They have a ton of flavors, they are all wearing masks (during the covid-19 outbreak (June 2020)) and they will let you try whatever you want before you buy it. Not that good and very expensive. This place is a tourist-trapy ripoff for the rubes.. Exactly what I would expect to find at the Tanger Outlets in AC. They have more types of jerky than you can shake a stick at...not just beef, but elk, venison, and other game animals. Also they offer jerky made in several different ways, smoked, dry hung, and some South African method, the name of which escapes me for the moment. And if exotic jerkys aren't out-of-the-box enough for you, they have other items like dried crickets and meal worms.. Now that all sounds like a great adventure in exotic food-dom. If only that were so. But when you actually taste the the different jerkys (they will give you samples of most of their stuff), you can tell that it's mass produced. If you expect this place to have authentic artisanally produced fare, as I did, you will be disappointed, as I was. All the different jerkys had that taste of being mass produced. I can't quite put my finger on it, but their products have that je ne sais quoi chain-made mass-produced quality that you know when you taste it - and it's not good. I have had traveled out west and had locally homemade (I think they call that"artisanal" in Brooklyn) beef jerky in places like Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado (not tourist trap Colorado, but out in the small towns). If you opened up this place there, they would laugh at you). Now, it's not the worst beef jerky I've ever had, but at $40 a lb. (Or $ 9.99 for 4oz), the cost/value is WAYYY off. The Wild Bill's brand of jerky that you can find at any Wawa by me is a far more authentic "real" beef jerky, than anything you will find here, and much less $. No kidding. read more

I forgot to check in, but came here during Black Friday. It was...the most......interesting...outlet I've ever been to, for lack of better word. This is definitely NOT a place for vegetarians, vegans or animal lovers or those who get offended easily. For goodness sake it's a beef jerky outlet, what more can I say? The decorations they have around I can see why some people might be offended. So I'm forewarning those who are easily offended! (ex. PETA = People Eating Tasty Animals) But besides that the staff was extremely friendly and very cheery especially for a Black Friday event, so I really enjoyed that. The selection they had was tremendous! They had things from normal beef jerky to what I saw alligator jerky!? They allow samples for basically all the jerky they had on the wall, which was extremely helpful because the ones I thought I wouldn't like so much turned out to be my favorite! The pricing was decent, I mean if you're looking for grocery store style jerky prices, this is not the place you're looking for. This is definitely for those who want to try, for lack of better words, "home made" style. The products are labeled, made in USA and they taste pretty fresh, I'm no jerky connoisseur, but in MY opinion they were great jerky for a reasonable price. read more

I first went in here as a goof, but they have an amazing range of goodies. The staff is friendly and knows a lot about the products, and they ain't stingy with the samples. Beef... turkey... even alligator and kangaroo. It's like Noah's Ark, but in jerky form! Plus they sell popcorn, sweets, and even dried bugs and grubs to complete the cycle of life. Not the cheapest prices, but it's not like you come here to buy your groceries. I've been to the original location in Michigan and this location was great. Customer service was on point and he didn't get upset not cranky when asked to try various flavored. He was also very informative on different methods of drying out the beef and was quite friendly. The prices range from 9 dollars for 4oz to about 32 dollars per pound, which is a bit pricey but for me the quality and flavor is worth it. Definitely stop by as you won't regret leaving with some quality dried out jerky. read more

I checked out the store today. It had a lot of different types of beef jerky, popcorn, candy, beef sticks and numerous other interesting munchies. It is worth a visit.
