I don't normally review chain restaurants--mainly because I don't go to them. But I also think that this restaurant deserves a fair review, because my experience was a far cry from the two star average rating that you'll find on Google for this place. My husband and I receive ads in the mail for local chains. Though I have a more upscale, refined palate, I can also appreciate a good greasy spoon meal or Hardee's fried chicken as long I can get it for a good price. Such a deal arrived in the mail last week for Beef 'O' Brady's: two main courses and an appetizer for a total of $20. I stuck the ad to our fridge and decided to try it out this weekend, despite the deterring reviews. We went on a Saturday for lunch, around 1:00. Beef 'O' Brady's is exactly what it advertises: it's a family-friendly sports bar. Don't let the neon Budweiser ads deter you, if you're thinking about bringing children or conservative friends. Beef's doesn't oversell its alcohol and isn't divey. I can tell my co-workers (teachers bound by contract to abstain from alcohol) that I went there and not have them question my character. There's a diminutive arcade for children, and what seemed like a hundred television screens (okay, maybe only twenty). Our server wasn't overly friendly, but she was prompt and helpful. I listened in on her conversations with a few other customers and heard her give recommendations for meals from her personal experience, and was overall very accommodating. I wasn't expecting that from a two-star restaurant--nor did I expect the high level of cleanliness. The floors were well-swept. The tables were spotless and smooth--even the ketchup bottle had no ghosts of sticky fingers or explosive ketchup accidents. The noise level was average for a sports bar, even though all of the TVs were abuzz and three fourths of the tables were occupied. I'm normally sensitive to noisy restaurants, and I found the noise level quite tolerable. Our meals weren't five stars, but I can't say that there was anything wrong with them, either. My husband actually said that his steak was amazing, and one of the best he'd ever had. But since he's easily pleased by steak, I don't know if a five star is warranted or not (he ate it so quickly I didn't get a chance to taste it, myself). My fish and chips were average--not outstanding, but good. Tender filets, decent fries, slightly dry coleslaw, zesty tartare sauce--overall, these constituted a satisfying meal. The biggest shock was the portions. I always expect large plates and portions from American restaurants. I don't love the idea of large portions (which is very un-haute-cuisine), but ever since I graduated from my parent's budget to my own, young wife's budget, I don't complain and gratefully bring home the leftovers. The portions we received were actually small. Not tiny, but the size of a typical home-cooked meal. My husband polished off his meal and the starter, and I ate everything save two of my four fish filets, which I could have probably eaten. (Side note: I'm wary of over-indulging on cheap fish; I'd hate to become ill from fish.) The small portions are not a fault, but might not meet everyone's expectations. Maybe it was the day, or the time of day. Maybe I was just lucky. But my experience was not two stars. I think four stars is fair for this particular chain restaurant. Will I return? Came in and ordered the BBQ burger with no cheese. To my surprise it came without cheese. 95% of the places I eat out at screw this up but Beef's got it right. I sat at the bar and I believe the bartenders name was Melissa (excuse me if I got it wrong, I'm horrible with names). She was also on point and interacted with everyone at the bar making for a fun night. Overall a fun experience for a sports bar. If you are looking for fine dining this is not the place but if you are looking for a fun atmosphere with decent food and a fun bartender then you can't go wrong by stopping in for a bite and a cold one. read more

Giving 5 stars because they need the traffic like everyone does during these hard covid times... but hopefully they will fix the sound system so you can understand what the live entertainment is singing, and maybe they'll put more steak on the steak nachos someday so it's worth $14. read more

I ordered the chicken taco's...no flavor no spice...it was like eating a chicken and lettuce tortilla

I have been to this restaurant about 4 times since they reopened and I am not sure how they can continue to stay open with poor service and low quality of food. The only time we had decent service was when we only ordered beer. On our last visit the food took 2 hours to get so we had to get it to go. The owner/management needs to train their employees or get better ones. read more

B.O.B's is a regular spot for me when I'm in town. The burgers are good, the beer is cold and the staff/patrons are friendly. Tends to attract a lot of families even though it's a sports bar. read more

Not good. Just not good at all. I went there on Sunday night (Father's Day evening) with my three kids to watch the NBA Finals. Years ago, the food was great, service was great, and the place was lively and a fun place to eat and watch games. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. I haven't written a review until now on Beefs, but here it is, as succinct as I can put it. Food: Really bad. The wings are just tiny and blah. The burger was flavorless basically. I used to like the curly fries that they had, but they're no longer a menu item. I asked about what was on tap and the server goes "Domestic or craft?" I say "Craft!" and she goes...."Hmm, let's see. Shock Top. Sam Adams - but I think we may be out.... Blue Moon... umm..." Really limited options. No IPA's. Nothing really outside of the realm of Miller Lite --- Sam Adams. Service: Terrible. Host at the door looked so aggravated. When she came back, I asked if there was a booth. She looked at me like I asked her to climb onto my roof and clean the gutters on my home. "Yeah, I guess so." We got a booth - so that my kids could have their own monitor - only to sit down and the monitor didn't work. So, I asked for another after I mentioned the TV didn't work (which she knew she said and didn't say anything). We picked up all of our silverware on our own and walked across to the other booth. Audio on the TV didn't work. All else: Father's Day special was going on? Did they mention it to me before we ordered? No, there was a post on the bathroom door. I had to holler down a server 3x for stuff. At the end, we found out our server was off, so we got another girl who was moderately more helpful, thankfully. I gave my kids a few quarters for the game room and one game took two quarters from them. They told the host and her exact words "There's nothing we can do about that." I could go on and on. Beef's used to be a decent place, but I'm really disappointed. Why would I ever want to spend my money there again? There's just nothing exceptional there. Food is terrible. Service is terrible. Entertainment (TV's) there doesn't work. This place needs a massive overhaul top to bottom or just needs to fold up and let life move on by. I've eaten at the downtown location several times and was never very impressed. This was the first time trying this location and nothing was different. Their food definitely isn't anything to write home about. I had the grilled chicken wrap and the bacon was so overpowering I actually looked to see if there was chicken in it, and the cooks were way too generous with the mayo. The Caesar salad was ok. The only reason I'm giving this location two stars instead of one is because the service was good, as were our appetizers and side dishes. My father ordered the Cuban sandwich and didn't seem to have any complaints, but my mother ordered the chicken basket and I got the mushroom swiss burger. The breading on the chicken was dark brown and hard, and the actual chicken was fairly dry. My burger came with a mound of sopping wet shredded lettuce on top of a relatively tasteless beef patty and mushrooms that were dripping a grainy brown grease and tasted like dirt. I had to remove most of them. either the mushrooms weren't washed properly (if at all) before being cooked, or they cooked them on a very dirty grill. either way, they made me feel sick to my stomach. maybe this was a bad night for this location, maybe it wasn't. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. It definitely wasn't a busy night, though, and i was absolutely disappointed with my meal. hopefully if I visit in the future my mind will be changed. read more

I'm sitting here at Beef O Brady's waiting to see how long it's going to take the waitress to come back to our table. We sat down and it took at least five minutes for someone to bother get our beer order. She dropped off a menu and has not comeback. There are several people working behind the bar, but they don't seem to care that we might be hungry. This was a good place to eat. It wasn't the best burgers I had but it was a decent place to eat. The waitress checked on me a couple of time and the service was quick. I heard great things about this place but to me it was just an average place to have lunch. The jalapeños weren't hot at all which was disappointing since that was the main reason of getting it. Service was so slow and our bartender didn't know how to open the shaker. The people next to us had two flies in their food.

Service was slow. Took over 10 minutes for simple chips and queso to arrive, and when it did it wasn't hot. Another 7 minutes or so for my burger to arrive. The food was edible but not great. Lettuce was soggy and the burger tasted mostly of pepper. After I finished eating it took close to 10 minutes for the server to even check and see I was ready to leave. It shouldn't take an hour for a single person to get a burger at 3:30 in the afternoon. This was my second chance after the first time was equally underwhelming (with even slower service!), there will not be a third. read more

Yet another sad case of complacency. It used to be great but like so many other restaurants, it's all fun and games at first but after a couple years there's a massive slide in management for whatever reason. I have to speculate they got tired or lazy or sick or that enjoying the money became more important than impressing the customers, which is backwards because if you neglect your business, much less the customers, there's no more money to enjoy. Just sell it and let someone else use the space and stop disappointing people if nobody will step up and manage it. I always hope the restaurant will check their reviews but I'm pretty sure those who run this establishment will not. They just don't seem to care about anything. We've been twice and will not be back. There are plenty of people working as evidenced by those peeking out of the doors to the kitchen, but whatever is going on in the kitchen is more important than what is happening in the front of the house.Customers were having to go find someone to serve them, literally getting up from their seats to track someone down. Our own waitress apologized for being told she had the wrong table. Now for the food - I ordered the Reuben, which has a shamrock on the menu to indicate it is one of their specialties. The majority of it was inedible. It tasted good, what little there was to eat. The corned beef was the toughest I've ever eaten and there were large pieces of inedible gristle in it that I had to pull out of the sandwich, and my mouth. Last time it was a horrible philly sandwich that tasted like old roast beef. My son's hamburger was fine, but my husband was not happy with his chicken sandwich. The fries were barely warm. I did enjoy their wings. Apparently there are a large group of regulars who come in on Sunday who are drunk, extremely loud and obnoxious. The female staff has always been great, but we've had some loser guy employees wait on us. Not the healthiest menu either, but you'll get your money's worth. So, we fit there at 6pm. Waited by the front while staff looked at us. Waitress came over and took us to a table. Never said hello or anything. Never asked "table or booth." Just herded us over. Another waitress came over, introduced herself and said she was new. Wife asked about drink specials and waitress said, "I'm not sure, but I have them on my phone." She gave her phone to my wife to look at. Ordered drinks and had to ask for a "2 for 20" menu. She eventually came back (about 8 or 9 minutes) and we ordered appetizer. Never saw her again for another 10 minutes. I looked up at the front (where we stood for a time without being greeted) and there were 4 staff members standing. She came back. We asked about our appetizer. Nothing. Wife asked her to check on it. Couple minutes later she returned. "I think it hasn't dropped yet. They are pretty stressed back there." I immediately asked for the check. Told her to forget the appetizer, and we would pay for the drinks. We paid and left. It was 6:38. Seriously! 38 minutes and we never got a bite of food. Place was not THAT busy. Very disappointed! And the rudeness of the first waitress should have been a clue for us. Our waitress wasn't rude, just kind of ambivalent. Visit started off great. Wait was only 10 minutes. Server, Misty, was average. Was told the bar and the kitchen were backed up and that was appreciated. Then the drinks came. Margarita, not even close to being "good", no flavor, tasted like flavored water. Next, I ordered a Pineapple Express. Tasted like Lemon Lysol smells. Husband ordered Rum & Pineapple and tasted Fabulous. Seems that two ingredient drinks are easy to make properly. Maybe the bartender was new. Next came the food. Onion Rings..... THE BEST I've ever Tasted. It was wing night, so I got the wings.... Garlic Parm sauce. I am not particularly fond of salt, so I let the husband try it.... he loves salt, he couldn't even finish eating it. The Waterson, a SIGNATURE Beef O'Brady dish, is no longer available. Husband settled for the Prime Rib, he didn't even finish the sandwich. My daughter ordered Chicken Tenders and zucchini. The zucchini was not even edible. She loves the chicken tenders. BOB has really done downhill. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat. But this was just disappointing. We did let the waitress know a few of the issues we had. Very cheap place to eat, but food is mediocre.

The bartender was very nice, but gave my original take out order to another customer. She then realized she gave the wrong order to the customer, and called him on the phone to bring it back. He did not want to come back and kept the order. Then I guess they quick cook something up and got me out of there. When I got home 2 boxes were empty. I called and they said there was no way that could of happened. They ask me to bring the empty boxes back because they can't refund any money. We went there with about 12 members in our party for an impromptu lunch. WE DID NOT CALL AHEAD with the number of our party but I doubt it would have done any good whatsoever. It literally took 40 minutes just to get our drinks (which were from the fountain, not the bar). It took more than an hour to get our food. When we complained to the manager, his reply was NOT that he was sorry...he said, roughly quoted "If you had called ahead, this would not have been an issue. There is no way we can anticipate a party of this size. Next time, if you will call ahead I can staff my kitchen appropriately and it will go much more smoothly for you." He was very rude and all but said "THIS IS YOUR OWN FAULT!" There wasn't a single touch of an apology in anything he said. I said "So it's normal to wait 40 minutes for a diet soda?" He laughed and asked us to call ahead next time and then walked out. Sorry buddy, the food's not that great, and the service sucks...there won't be a next time. read more
