For years he was fine charging for a double dog one dog on the side, made them charge me as two hot dogs...then they didn't even give me the fries I was supposed to get and ordered. Everybody understands increased food costs, what we don't understand is being purposefully ripped off. BTW if he is reading this your example was dumb, the reason a six pack is cheaper then 6 separate cokes is because of increased labor costs to stock them, your food cost is exactly the same. Been going here 15-20 years. "Fast&Hot" has been their motto. And that's how you get it! Italian Beef,Sausage,Hot Dogs,Burger's,Sloppy Joe's,Onion rings etc. And they have daily specials for each day of the week. Reason for 4 stars. Once in a great while I'll get a "chewy beef". Last time we got food here, everything was a hot mess. We decided to give it one more chance before completely giving up, as it has been months since we have been here. Much to our surprise, they've done a complete 180! It's cleaner, new staff, friendly cashier, and no one coming in complaining of a wrong order! It's a bit of a drive for me, as I don't work nearby any longer, but I really like the burgers here. I have no idea how they get that taste but I've tasted it in another restaurant in Lombard. Best beef sandwich in Elgin. I also love the dogs and gyros (and the combos). Their dogs are Chicago Red Hots (not Vienna Beef). Never had the burgers; seems like an odd thing to order at a place like this. The cheese fries are an institution, despite not being 'fresh-cut' or having 'real' cheese. They use the nacho cheese dispenser. But really, 'real' cheese (e.g., cheddar) for cheese fries is never really as rewarding as you expect it to be. The places doing it that way are always disappointing, in my opinion. Ditto for the 'fresh-cut' thing. Unless supreme attention is paid to the resulting crispiness, fresh-cut fries are generally worse than frozen, in my opinion. read more

I grab a to-go order from Beef Villa probably once or twice a week. The food is always consistent and much better than competing fast food establishments. The best part of this place here is the specials. You can't beat $0.99 Hamburgers on Sunday nights. But thats about it. The Italian beef is alright, but I'm spoiled by the Portillo's and Al's so its tough to beat those. The hot dogs aren't anything special. The wieners are like your average size ballpark franks. I've had better at Costco. The gyros was disappointing. I saw the guy shaved off a few slices of gyro meat and put it in the microwave! I started my second rotation in Elgin and I drive by this place all the time. It's kind of at an awkward intersection, but I was intrigued enough to figure out how to pull in here and park. It's very small inside, but I wasn't planning on staying there for lunch anyway. The staff here was really nice and I'm always a big fan of that. I ordered a cheeseburger (good) and cheese fries (really good!). They soak those fries in cheese and offer you a fork with them (I'm pretty sure it was just nacho cheese, but really, I'm not that picky). Overall, a nice, cozy place to grab a quick bite to eat. Beef Villa is a very good place for beef and other delicious food! Their menu is very big and they have a huge variety of selections. All of the food here is really great! Perfectly prepared and served on time. Highly recommend! The time I visited this place I ordered Chicken Nuggets and Mac & Cheese. I also got some cheese fries for the side and a brownie for dessert. All of it was really good and delicious! The quality says it all! The portions are great and large. They also have a Kids' menu, which has Hot dogs, Corn dogs, and others. Such wonderful offers! Gyro was ok the meat definitely wasn't sliced fresh because the amount of moisture that had built up probably in a steam well. Frys ok. This is the second week in a row my husband has gone to pick up lunch for us. Both times our order was wrong. I don't know about you but I want what I ordered, nothing more, nothing less. Me and my boyfriend were in the area for some job errands and we decided to try something new! I LOVE the cute hotdog man sign haha, so this place stood out to me right away. My boyfriend gave the Chicago hotdogs a solid 8 so he was pretty pleased with them. I thought the cheddar poppers were pretty good too. You got to watch out for the hot juice that may seep out with every bite. The fries were okay and they give you a small side with every hotdog you get so that was nice.
