It takes a lot for me to award the fifth star for a steakhouse, but Beefmaster Steakhouse on North Main St in Weatherford, TX, sure comes close. It is easy to miss the fairly new restaurant that sits off the street from the least busy Main St in Weatherford. It is bordered by Town Creek at the back and McGratton Park to its north, but once you find it, you will not be disappointed. The menu boasts a wide variety of cuts of Wagyu beef, none of which have failed to impress so far. However, it is the other items available for selection that are obviously inspired. The two that are the most memorable for me were the jalapeno marinated bone-in pork chop and the West Texas Creole, a blackened catfish fillet smothered in jalapeno cream sauce. An honorable mention goes to the Steak Trimmings, 8 ounces of sirloin trim cooked to perfection. There is a garden out back growing fresh vegetables and they plan to expand with a stage and beer garden soon. Live music can be heard on certain nights of the week and cold drafts shared whenever you are there. All they need now is a dance floor to complete the scene. read more

Good food for the price. Order a chicken fried steak with salad, sweet potato fries, and unsweetened tea. All the food was really good, not overseasoned or greasy. The tea needed some work, it taste like there was dirt mixed in. We had a big party, so serviced needed help when getting food and tickets out. Each of us had a hamburger and mine had mushrooms and grilled onions. Yes it was very good. I also had some onion rings which were awesome. The service was exceptional. No rolls when we asked and then others got rolls but our waitress never offered any until we asked for some rolls at the end of our meal, rolls are good. we ordered the 72oz steak and at the end asked for a couple of boxes, that she brought and then we asked for a bag (after I gave her a 35% tip) and she never came back to our table with a bag or to say they did not have bags. PROs: This is a great steakhouse, definitely the best in town! Their steaks are so tender, they literally melt in your mouth, and the flavor is excellent. We have eaten here a few times since they opened and have been pleased each time. Their larger steaks designed for sharing, always yield us leftovers to enjoy again later at home, as these are some HUGE slabs of perfectly seasoned meat. The salad bar is a huge plus when not closed due to COVID guidelines, but either way, this place is a good choice for a filling meal. Side dishes are well prepared and taste great as well! This place is fairly new still, and provides a nice, clean, open and well maintained atmosphere. The outdoor dining area has a horseshoe pit available to keep you busy while awaiting your order or to visit after a good meal. They offer a nice kids menu and are very family friendly! CONS: This place is situated in such a location on North Main St., that I feel you have to be looking for it, to find it, and could be easily missed by potential customers who don't know it's exact location. The ribeye had great flavor and the service was good, very friendly. Unfortunately, this was our first visit and the dining experience was not great. The steak went back twice, first it was too rare and then it came back well. Third time was a charm. The restaurant is very casual with plastic plates and cafeteria style utensils and cups. The soup and salad bar is very standard. We ordered jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and they were probably pre-made and reheated, warm at best. Easy to pass if you aren't using a GPS, but worth the effort to find it. I wish the salad bar was open (stupid covid) because that would have put this place over the top for me. Decor is new and clean, open space, only tables, no booths, and a bar (the most important part) with a really cool outdoor patio space. We heard one of the servers mention live music, so we will be back for that. The food - I'm always hesitant on ordering vegetable sides with my steak because usually it's some canned green beans or over grilled squash. I ordered the green beans and my husband ordered the grilled zucchini, and both were cooked perfectly and very fresh, probably the best steak house vegetable sides I've ever had. Our steaks were cooked on point, and very yummy. The service was awesome, our waitress made us laugh and kept our drinks filled. Only con - the space is so open and with not much decor, and a metal roof, the echo in the room is pretty strong, so I had to yell at my husband so he could hear me. But his hearing isn't great in any setting, so I can't blame the place too much. My husband and I agreed that some cowhide rugs would look super cool in that space and probably help with the echo. My brother and sister in law took me here last night the food was wonderful. Service was fast and friendly they had a many selections on the menu. This place seems kind of hard to find. I think they should maker their sign a bit more prominent since the restaurant itself is not really visible from the street. That said, once we got there we were pleasantly surprised. Nice and clean with a super patio out back, which is where we had dinner. We had appetizers and mains and everything was good to go considering they were operating under the new rules that were in place since the COVID first wave had passed. It's hard to put a finger on why it's not getting 5-stars from me, but I would say that while Beefmaster is a good spot, it seems like it could be a great spot for Weatherford. Perhaps it's all the COVID stuff that is hurting everyone. They cannot really shine the way they may want to. I don't hold that against them and I would recommend Beefmaster as a place to try. We have been to this place a couple of times and it was good. However, last night was terrible! I'm not sure if this place has ran its course and is going downhill or what. First, the dinner rolls were different and VERY bad! We both ordered steak, one was pure mush (yuck!) and the other steak was hard! We are not going back for a while, if not ever again. This is our third time to visit. Today, both of our entrees (burger and crispy chicken sandwich) appeared to be frozen and not fresh. The onion rings and fries were good. My husband did enjoy the potato soup and salad bar. Unfortunately, as we were sitting, we observed a lady clean a table with a FLOOR broom and then proceeded to sweep the floor. Several minutes later, another lady came by with a wet rag and quickly wiped down the table (just a wet rag. No cleaner.). My go to here with the family is the KC steak sirloin by the person. It comes with steak grilled zucchini, salad and soup bar, and one side. I have always have some steak left for a snack the next day. Today though is just my son and I so I went for the Beefmaster's Burger. 1/2 lb homemade patty with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, jalapenos and mustard. Perfect just how I like it. Hadn't heard very good things about this place but wanted to try for ourselves. We started with a couple cocktails. They were great. My partner got a bloody mary made with some kind of phenomenal mix we'd never heard of. I got the jalapeno margarita. It had a kick but wasn't overpowering. Elea was our bartender. She really knew why she was talking about and gave us great service. The fried pickles were light, flaky and delicious. We both got steak. One blue rare and one medium rare. My husband and his family came in for the second time tonight. The restaurant it's self is very basic. No real decor or ambience. That's fine. The dining room is really big and gets very noisy. The food is very very good. I would say the best cut of steak in weatherford. Both times our meat was cooked perfectly. The salad bar is awesome! Small... but they do everything right! I love that they have a salad bar and it's a pretty good size bar. They offer two kinds of soup and they are both good. The smothered chicken breast with a choice of side is great. They give you a healthy side of mashed potatoes if you pick that as your side. It's worth getting the chicken breast because it comes with unlimited salad bar and soup and it's only $5 more. 2nd time here. First time was over a year ago when first moved in. Today kinda lacked what I had the first time. Greeter nice and such. Had Nicole for waitress. Took order and when brought out it was wrong, guess she didn't see what I ordered . Food was bland if at best. Had to use S & P which on CFS I don't use because it has gravy and such. Well it was bland at best. Had to use a knife to cut it which normally a fork will do. I have had a lot of CFS and fork is pretty much all it will take. Here not so much. Course it was really thick maybe that's why. Never got a refill of tea. She was to busy talking to female at bar which was about 10' away.
