Ok, date night in the big "W"..... That is Weatherford, Texas for those new to the area. Parking is on the square, so expect the unexpected! Most everyone gives this place 5 stars, and I would say Fire Oak absolutely earned them! No suspense here.... This restaurant is awesome! I unreservedly say 5 stars! My lovely bride and I went on a Saturday night. I made reservations several days in advance and I imagine it to be a wise choice. This place is on the expensive side, but worth every penny! The building is probably mid 1800's but they have partitioned the seating areas so that the sound does not echo off the original tin ceiling. What a beautiful dining experience in this place! My wife and I tried to think of anything that did not match the 5 star rating but we just couldn't. I am so happy we came here! Our waiter was Railen(?)..... Tall, blond hair, and thin. Seems like a good guy. Great waiter for sure. He recommended a couple of items that turned out to be pretty good. We ordered the ahi tuna to share, and it did not disappoint! I ordered a salad which was also excellent. We both ordered the sous vide filet. I hadn't tried this before, and I was pretty happy with it. It was cooked perfectly, so tender, and it tasted very good. I can see me trying this again. The side was macaroni- possibly the best macaroni ever. We ordered crème brûlée for dessert. Very creamy, very pretty. I am very happy we came here, and I highly recommend it! read more

Jaquelle is the best bartender by far since I have been coming here to Fire Oak Grill for years. Very friendly and accommodating. Celebrating my best friend's birthday and I have the most wonderful Salmon dish. It was obviously pan seared in butter. It had the most wonderful incrusted butter crispness to it. I enjoyed every bite and wanted to lick the plate. The dessert was excellent- Creme Brulee! Enough said Please try them. read more

Excellent steak. Cooked just right though my wife had to send hers back for a bit more time in the grill. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our reservation and our table wasn't quite ready, about 5 to 10 minutes. Even though they knew we were there if we hadn't of checked on the status of our table after waiting for a while not sure they would have come looking to tell us our table was ready. Regardless the experience overall was quite good. Comp bread was very tasty! Caesar salad was ok. The Fire Oak salad our dining companions ordered looked better. Really neat old building on the Weatherford square. Sides enough to share. No baked potatoes on the menu though. read more

This was a great find for my wife and me on a Friday night after flying in to DFW from San Luis Obispo, CA.. A great wine list with some of our California Central Coast favorites, we chose the Austin Hope Cab. The food was really spectacular, started with the bruschetta special that was brisket with goat cheese and tomato with a touch of cranberry, really unexpected and delicious. We shared the Fire Oak Salad, which was great, the balsamic vinaigrette was fabulous. My wife got the 6 oz. sous vide filet, which was so tender and perfectly done, while I got the 14 oz. ribeye which was also done perfectly, I love a rare steak in California, but have found in Texas, rare is a bit more rare that I would normally do, but the chef did an in-between rare and medium rare when I asked and it couldn't have been better. The seasoning was better than I've had on a steak ever while dining out. We usually don't get steaks dining out because we love how we do them at home, but this was a delight. We topped it off with their crème brûlée, which was a creamy masterpiece. I've been on a quest for the best crème brûlée for 30 years and this one is at the top of my list. We had a really enjoyable time chatting with staff and eventually the owner. Such nice folks. If you're near Weatherford, this is an experience you shouldn't pass up! read more

Found prices to be outrageous. I paid $74 for a ribeye that was no better quality than a Texas Roadhouse or an Outback steak house which is about a third of the price. Service not good as I kept having to call our waitress. Once I asked another waitress to get our waitress. She yells downstairs "Hey , get up here. " Wow!!! Who has steep stairs at a restaurant. Also both my wives steak and mine were marinated, I guess, in some kind of sauce that had a burnt taste. Thought I had eaten a chimney! I paid almost $200 for this on our 35th anniversary. My wife and I had reservations for Saturday night and were seated upstairs by a large group who were so loud we couldn't hear each other. The hostess advised there was nowhere to move us so finally our waitress moved us to the bar. The wine selection was good and the bacon-wrapped jalapenos were excellent however the ribeye steak was subpar at best, especially for $74.00. My wife ordered the beef tenderloin which was very good and I had buyer's remorse over my selection. If you're looking for a bar atmosphere with a great appetizer selection this is your place. For a more elegant dining experience and a better steak save your money and drive the 30 minutes to Bob's. read more

My husband and I have been there 2 weeks in a row. First time in the dining room and 2nd time in the bar area. Both times have been great. The server Deanna from week 1 even came to say hello to us on week 2. That speaks volumes! Anyway, bar servers, wait staff and in general food is delicious. I can't recommend this place enough! We love coming here for celebrations and I typically get the same thing each time...because it is so good! The Filet Mignon at Fir Oak is some of the best I have ever had... and the wedge salad - my lord! The servers have ALWAYS been friendly and helpful and have add to our time. The food is delicious. Took my girlfriend out for a date night here and we had a great time. We ordered a couple of drinks that were very well made and we thoroughly enjoyed. I normally don't order steak when I go out as I've been disappointed many times. Not here...it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. My girlfriend ordered the tacos...large and so flavorful. The atmosphere is great, the service team is just spectacular! As you walk into the restaurant to the time of leaving everyone seems to love to work there. Very kind and friendly. Now the food.. was really so good that words could not describe it. To start, was bread with garlic herb butter. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. This was all amazing but the Mac & cheese was the show piece! For dessert I had a strawberry cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream! Hmm! I can't say enough good things about this place. We were excited to try this Fire Oak in Weatherford, we drove a decent way to dine there for dinner. The evening we there they were out of the Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapeños, which was a disappointment since we were looking forward to trying them! Our steak was decent, the crab mac & cheese lacked greatly - it had very little crab in it. The bruschetta was meh...there was something in the sauce that was very off putting. The Creme Brulee however was the best thing we had. The waitress lacked the warm friendly vibe and seemed almost in a hurry to get our order and didn't at all pace our meal like you would expect from restaurant such as this. If only we could give 0 stars......The $74 ribeye tasted like it came from Walmart.....tough, grisly, and even worse.....burnt seasoning. The caeser salad was wilted, and lacked flavor. We do not understand the rave about the Mac n cheese..... it was flavorless and dry. The service was abysmal. We waited a hour before food was brought out. The place was mostly empty. If you love Mac n Cheese come here ! They have a 5 Cheese MAC n Cheese that can also come with crab or truffle to name 3. For starters we had a Bibb Wedge Salad and the Brushetta with a south western spin. The Brushetta was toast points with a black bean purée, roasted corn, chicken, bacon, queso cheese- and DELICIOUS. Great service and a beautiful atmosphere. The house salad was huge and colorful, the fish dish was beautifully presented, and the pineapple cobbler was adventurous. On the other hand, the $71 ribeye isn't worth the price. It tasted no better than a Prime Ribeye from Walmart. Note to Chef: for that price the meat should have a dramatic flare. Something like a Tomahawk Steak would be worth $71 or even $80. Not a plain old boring ribeye that can be purchased at any other restaurant in town.
