I love the Beer Barrel in Lima so I always want to go to the ones here. We have been to the Dublin one several times. It is definitely a place that you have to realize it's going to take a little longer. This experience was especially disappointing. It took a while to get greeted by the server, it took a while to get the server back to our table to order. We had several staff members that we interacted with that were more attentive than our server. The food took a little longer than average to get to us but was good Pizza and my son loved his kids cheese pizza. The full size pizza only had topping in the middle not all over. The other wait staff refilled our water and my husband had to stand up looking for our server to get a refill on his drink. I told the server at the beginning of our visit that we were going to get the s'mores desert. She brought us our bill and said "is there anything else I can get for you". I reminded her about the s'mores. It seemed like it took a while to it out and the fire thing was dirty and looked like it was just thrown together. We got this desert a year ago and it was much nicer looking. When we were done I couldn't find our server anywhere and she didn't have our check ready. Just seems like service and food quality are going down hill. My husband said "it always takes forever when we come here." We had previously tried the location on Roberts which we thought was worse service so we stopped going there. I guess we will have to try that location next time. My first time here. Parking was an issue due to the other stores and the fact that it's Friday night. We came here especially for the pizza. Rumor has it everyone needs to try it at least once. Well, this was my time and I'm glad I came. They did not disappoint. Now please understand, I used to live in NJ for a bit so I'm used to NY/NJ pizza. Where you fold the slice in half and watch the oil drip off. This was nothing like it. But it was still good in its own right. The difference is the dough and the water that is used. There was just 2 of us so Madison told us the 14 inch would be fine and sure enough she was right. After saying that I will come back to try out the rest of the menu. a group of 9 of us went to Beer Barrel for dinner, sat quickly. our nachos came out with about 3 pc of cheese, we sent them back and when they returned they were burnt. Had to ask for our salads, with that half of the groups food came out. reached to a manager inquiring about the rest of the food, (another waitress) a lame excuse that hot and cold food got mixed up??? then our waitress claimed we yellled at her, total bs. After 90 min we asked again for a mgr, who was working in the kitchen instead of running the restaurant, this guy blamed it on a IT issue that apparently only affected our table! he comped the 4 meals that did come out, and we left. The service here was very good. The food we ordered was tasty. My daughter enjoyed the spaghetti, especially the meatballs. Her husband got a salad, very fresh and I ordered a Ruben sandwich, no bread. I have had better and I have had worse. There was a tiny container of salad dressing for the salad and very little on my Ruben. We asked for more, got small containers, and was charged extra for each of them. We eat here about four times a year. Last night we met our daughter who lives in Columbus and ordered meatloaf dinner and two manicotti dinners. Both tasted "leftover". The manicotti in particular was obvious "nuked". The pasta was so dry on the edges it looked like a tortilla. Filling had a bad taste. The sauce was thick and sparse. Yuck. Staff did respond appropriately and asked about meal and how they could take care of things. Three staff addressed issue. I asked for discount and received it. This place has a lot of average reviews...maybe I'm easy to please, but I loved my food! Our server was chill and the wait time was normal considering covid. I ordered the cauliflower bowl with salmon. The salmon was fantastic! So soft and flaked apart beautifully. At first, I thought the bowl looked kind of small, but after mixing it, there was plenty of food! The avocado chunks were super tasty too. I was very pleased with my meal. The real winner of my dinner was the s'mores because I got to roast my own marshmallows!! A little stove was provided with a blue blob inside that looked like flubber. Lol. Our waitress lit it and we used wooden sticks to roast the marshmallows. It was super cute!! It's pretty big inside the restaurant and there's a few large TVs. Let's start with the good things. The service was really good, and so was the ambiance of the restaurant. Now onto the bad, I ordered the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo, which took at least an hour to come out. Granted I was with a large group at the time, but there was not many people there. The chicken was super chewy, and the taste of it was horrible. The noodles were undercooked, and the sauce tasted like they just took it out of a jar and nuked it in the microwave. I was looking forward to this opening, but also a little leery, since I was disappointed in the pizza at the Hilliard location. That was thin crust, and maybe was just a bad day, but I went with their original, thicker crust this time. I got the "Big Meatza" 10". Not the best pizza in the world, but pretty good, and a good value. I also had the fried green beans. Very, very good. Pretty much a spin on french fries- crispy, tasty, with a good Thai dipping sauce. Service was great. Drink refills right when I needed them, friendly and efficient service. They seemed overstaffed, which makes sense for the week they opened, and I came at an off time. Big place, lots of wood and windows. Plenty of seating options. It would be a good place to watch a game. I passed on drinks since I was on the way to work, but they had some interesting beer offerings, and a lot of mixed drinks. Glad there are more food options out this way. Wendy's and Tim's were getting old. Now if that Asian place would just open... But I'll be back here. I'll give the other pizzas a try, and they have wings and burgers, salads, subs, even chicken and noodles and some pasta dishes. Other than being extremely cold in the restaurant, the staff were exceptionally friendly. The service was spot on and the food was fabulous. Reuben sandwich with chips was the best I've had in quite a while! The meatloaf and mashed potatoes with brown gravy was also quite tasty! Beer Barrel has been one of my favorite places to eat for the past few years. The location in Plain City is my favorite Beer Barrel location (same shopping center as Costco). The restaurant is clean, visually appealing, and there is no shortage of TVs in case we don't want to miss the game, or simply run into a lull in conversation. Throughout the pandemic, we have opted for carry out or delivery via DoorDash. Ordering delivery directly from Beer Barrel's website/app will NEVER happen because of the ridiculous delivery fees Beer Barrel charges ($9.99 delivery charge + driver's tip to my home which is 4.2 miles away). I cannot say enough about Beer Barrel's French Onion Soup - the best I've ever had - simply amazing! Beer Barrel's Baby Back Ribs are insane! The Triple Pepper Burger is one of the absolute best burgers I've had and they are consistently outstanding! Beer Barrel also has great chicken wings, Au Gratin Potato Casserole (unbelievable - must try), and of course, the pizza's are very good. We usually get the Supreme EBA (everything but anchovies) on original crust. It is loaded with toppings; however, I do wish they would use more pizza sauce and put toppings closer to the edges of the crust. They charge for extra sauce and the pizza is usually a bit dry without it, and there is a good 1" to 1.5" ring around their original crust pizzas that doesn't have toppings and that area tends to be dry and a waste of money. Their pizza is not cheap, so I expect a little more for the price! read more

Overall the place is good, the low marks are for pizza. I ordered pepperoni, onions , green olives, banana peppers and that was the mess. The crust is good, but the pepperoni is covered with cheese and doesn't crisp in the oven leaving the pizza tasteless and overpowered with cheese. In addition to this, they put so much banana peppers that whole thing tastes like vinegar, this is not a burrito where you can put as much cheese as you want. Big cheese omelette what you serve is not a pizza, some crisp and crunch in pizza is a good think. Please research, otherwise I'm done with expensive tasteless cheese mud pie you have right now. Otherwise, service is friendly and good, would be nice to have a beer list instead of having to guess handles in the bar. Everybody was really nice...Especially explaining ingredients to me for someone who has allergies...But the food was disappointing...I ordered a cheeseburger and it came without cheese... I sent it back...And when it came back with the cheese the fries had been reheated in the microwave as well as they were really, really bad...And what killed me was that the mayonnaise that had also been in a cup for the fries was warm and tasted like it had gone in the microwave as well...Ugh...
