Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and sat at the bar. Bartender was less than enthusiastic to be there. My spicy margarita was sooo sweet and expensive for what I was served. We ordered the mushroom pepperoni pizza flat. I don't get the hype of this place. Pizza was under average and had alot of parts that weren't even covered with cheese or sauce let alone pepperoni or mushrooms. Very expensive lunch for a quick bite at the bar. Every time we try to go here, the wait is 45 min to an hour, and more than half the tables and seats are empty. We've attempted to on weekends and during the weekdays, and usually end up at the cheesecake factory or finding another restaurant closer to home. Really enjoyed our lunch here over the weekend. Came on a Sunday- the mall was pretty slow because of the weather and so was the restaurant. I came with my toddler. She had the cheese pizza and enjoyed it! I had the California club pizza. Just like childhood- it hasn't changed. I used to get this pizza 15 years ago when I came here as a teen. We started with the Sangria flight and it was very fruity and smooth. We then tried the spicy chicken dumplings and they were really tasty and not too spicy. Just right for me. We also shared the spinach artichoke dip with nachos. The nachos tasted like they were out of a bag and not warmed. The dip was good though. The drinks and starters were on the happy hour 1/2 price menu. We then had the tomato soup. It was the right temperature and tasty with croutons on top. We ordered the Hawaiian pizza. It looked better than it tasted. It could have used some cinnamon, dates, or almonds to add a little variety to the taste. The pizza was the least impressive of all of our dishes that we tried. We ended up taking some of the pizza home. We finished our meal with the butter cake served with Hagan Das vanilla ice cream. It was heavenly! The server was attentive to all of our needs. The restaurant was clean and had a low buzz of noise which was perfect for conversation with my hubby. This was the first time that we had been to this restaurant which was situated in the Polaris mall. This location is in a very, very busy mall so there was a bit of a wait. Hostess said we could get a table in 15, walked around 8ish minutes, and when we came back they had given away our table. Kind of a rough start to the meal but the rest of the staff we interacted with was kind and made sure we always had refills, napkins, etc. It's been years since I'd been to a California Pizza Kitchen, but I remember the food being better? Nothing was bad, but the pizza was not the star of the show. The California Egg rolls were unique and really delicious and honestly could be a meal on their own. The sangria flight was pretty good, though the first two flavors were basically the same. Very disappointed with this locations management...I called the store prior to arrival...per telephone call with apparent manager by the apparent restaurant manager I met at the door(idk if their managers honestly because they lack any knowledge) about shellfish allergy. My wife and I were planning on visiting the mall and decided to check this place out since we've never been here before. Not a bad pizza at all. The crust was really good, but it really felt like there was no sauce on the pizza. I asked my wife before I said that and she even asked do you taste any sauce? Went for family friendly lunch. Sanitizer was offered at checkin, tables were socially distanced, and you could pay on your phone. I ordered the lunch combo of tomato basil bisque and BBQ chicken pizza for $11. Both were delicious and the soup was the perfect temp. The kids menu had a lot of options. I was extremely happy was their portion size and price of $6. With limited seating, only two servers were working and seemed a little stretched. CPK is a chain, but it's definitely one of the better chains. You'll pretty much always get a really good, high quality meal here. You will pay for it, though. They used to have a location at Easton as well which closed. This location at Polaris is easy to find as it's right at one of the mall entrances, and there's a huge parking lot. They have a patio section for outside seating as well. Service is typically pretty good, although on this occasion the server seemed to really be rushing us out the door. We kept saying we wanted to take our time, but she kept coming back asking if we were ready to order. Then when we ordered dessert she said "So, you'd like that to go?" and seemed disappointed when we wanted to eat it there. The food, though, was excellent. Try the avocado club egg rolls. Delicious, crispy rolls chock full of bacon, cheese, and avocado. We opted for the kung pao spaghetti with chicken and the Sicilian thin crust pizza. Again, both were excellent. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente, and the dish was definitely spicy and chock full of peanuts. The pizza was crispy, and the meats were robust and hearty and complemented by the basil and oregano. For dessert we went for their seasonal strawberry shortcake dessert. Not bad.. lots of strawberries, but the cake seemed more like a scone than a shortcake. Still good, though. Tip: their key lime pie is quite good. Overall the food was excellent at CPK as always. I still have sticker shock sometimes at the prices, though. Entrees are easily $15+ (including pizzas). The dessert prices also seem crazy. At least $8 each PLUS $2 more if you want a scoop of ice cream. $2?? We do keep coming back, though.... It's just yummy food! read more

The pizza is not that great. For a personal sized pizza it's $15.99, OUCH!! Bread & dipping oil was brought out right away, the appetizer arrived 3 min after that and the pizza and kids meal took 18 min. I felt that since it was not busy in there that 18 min was too long. The bbq chicken pizza was really dry. The crust was not tasty and flavorless. There was maybe a half breast of chicken on the whole pizza. There was chopped cilantro sprinkled on it which in my opinion just ruined the pizza. We didn't realize it was included or we would have told them to leave that off. The pizza was not any good and I didn't enjoy eating it. The kids meal grilled chicken was a little on the dry side but had a nice grilled taste. The fruit was nice and included grape halves & pineapple slices. The chocolate milk was good. Short version: It's pizza. That's all I need to say. The end. Not as short version: Seeing as how this is located inside Polaris, we've stopped here for dinner a handful of times when chasing kids around and going to multiple stores has just drained me. They're cool with you parking your stroller behind the host's stand, or against the wall. Service has always been friendly here and even on Saturday evenings I've never had any issues with wait times. They have an app that you can order takeout with, and it has a rewards system built in. My server has always asked if I'm signed up and takes my number, but if they don't mention it be sure to (first sign up and then) tell them you're a member so you can get your points. I've only ever gotten the four cheese (or is it five cheese?) and tomato pizza because I'm predictably boring. The bacon and the sausage are both really good here so I'll usually ask for that added on as well. I usually don't pay much attention to the crusts of pizza, but I always notice that theirs is really good. All the non-pizza menu items sound good, but I've yet to branch out. They have "fancy" non-alcoholic mixed drinks that are always really good, I usually opt for whatever seasonal one they're featuring. I will absolutely be back and maybe one day I can report back that I tried something new! read more

We went here as a party of 6 on Monday, July 5 and they were extremely short staffed and busy. We decided to wait the 25 minutes we were advised for a table. It was a birthday celebration with family from out of town and we hadn't seen each other in over a year. It was also our first time eating out at an actual restaurant as a group after the pandemic restrictions lifted. We sat at the bar and the bartender, Serenity was AMAZING, she was hilarious and personable and she even came up with the perfect cocktail for one of our party with a specific craving they couldn't pin down. The best part is that she actually sat us at a table near the bar and waited on us herself. The food was delicious as ever, we had everything from pizzas to street corn to avocado egg rolls and cocktails and it was all perfect, hot and tasted terrific. Our sodas and cocktails were never empty, we were under excellent care. We got to enjoy our little reunion and it could not have been better. Even the table was perfect for a raucous party of six who all talked at the same time and shouted over each other. We were looking for a restaurant our daughter might actually eat at, after walking around the Columbus Zoo all day, and we decided on this CPK, as it was close by and not too busy at the time. I hadn't eaten at a CPK in years, so I figured we could give it a try. The teenage or young twenties host seemed pained to be there, both as he sat us and when we left, with his lackluster mumble of a greeting, but our server was really nice and attentive. And she was very accommodating with our time constraints. We ordered the Sonoma Grilled Chicken Flatbread with Brie, arugula, and grapes and the Sticky Asian Cauliflower for appetizers. The cauliflower was definitely the winner of the two. The Sonoma Flatbread needed something, salt probably, and something acidic like a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. The cauliflower was doused in this sweet and spicy glaze that made it pretty irresistible. We also got the classic Barbecue Chicken Pizza with pineapple, red onion, and cilantro, and the Veggie Pizza with goat cheese, mushrooms, broccolini, sun-dried tomatoes, and roasted corn for our entrees. They both were delicious. And it was a nice contrast of flavors and taste notes between the two of them. Also the crust was nice and chewy and cooked perfectly. I would get these both again. The only think I didn't care for was the key lime pie. It was very bitter, and I don't know why. It wasn't tart and sweet like a key lime pie should be, but bitter to the point of astringent. It reminded me of a citrus-scented cleaner, so I could only stomach one bite. I would give this CPK a 3 1/2 if I could. It was good enough to get me to try a location in the metro Detroit area. read more

After not visiting for almost 3 years, my daughter and I decided to have our weekly Saturday lunch date here. I visited before as a meat eater and ALWAYS ordered the Lettuce wraps but of course couldn't do so today. I opted for a cup of the Tomato Bisque (yes, I know I HATE tomatoes, but bisque doesn't disgust me). It was super creamy and my requested side of Parmesan cheese topped it off well. There were also a couple croutons which were a nice added crunch. My daughter started off with a half Caesar salad and it was definitely enough for 2 in our opinion. She said it tastes like a basic Caesar so no complaints there. Our server then delivered bread with olive oil and that was good too. Not the best because the bread was cold but it was brought out without us asking compared to prior visits when we actually had to request bread. For my meal i ordered the California Veggie pizza and it was loaded with yummy- ness!!! Broccolini, corn, onions, artichoke and sun dried tomatoes....sooooo good! The crust was cooked nicely and came out piping hot. My daughter got a pepperoni pizza and it looked really good. As far as the service goes, the host was super friendly and always had a smile on his face which I thought was adorable. He seemed like he truly enjoyed his job! Our server was fine. She made sure we always had what we needed and checked back a couple times after food was delivered but she Kindda seemed like her attention was elsewhere when she came to the table. She wasn't rude or anything , just seemed preoccupied. Not a huge deal. CPK hasn't really changed much in the last few years and goes to show why they are still in the mall as opposed to other restaurants that came and went. We decided last minute to eat lunch here after an Escape Room. I have a very uncommon allergy and my phones internet was not working, so I had to ask questions about specific ingredients. Serenity was the manager on duty and she went above and beyond to get me the answers I HAD to have or I would not have been able to order food. You'll always get a solid meal at CPK! We have been going to CPKs all over the country for years and used to always go to the one at Easton before they closed it - :( Ambiance Conveniently located at Polaris mall. Pretty simple, clean, modern interior. Tons of booth seating which is always appreciated but quite a few tables as well. Servers dressed in simple black shirts and jeans. They have a small patio area as well for warmer weather. It's fairly brightly lit inside, so you won't exactly have a dimly lit romantic meal. Service Generally very good. Check the OpenTable app/website where you can make a "priority seating" booking which isn't a reservation but I guess is sort of like the call ahead seating you'll find at Olive Garden and Longhorn. On this recent visit (Valentine's Day!) we did the priority seating, but there was no wait at all anyway. The hostess was very friendly, and the server was efficient but didn't really make any friendly small talk or chat. Not essential but sometimes nice. We ordered the pizza without green onions, but it arrived with them. She quickly fixed the situation and let us keep the mistake pizza anyway! Food Pizza is their main menu attraction (duh), but they have a selection of other dishes too including some good appetizers, salads, and pasta dishes. This time we had the special Valentine's Day menu. We started with spinach artichoke dip. Hot and creamy with chunks of avocado and crispy tortilla chips. Standard, good, not amazing. Then on to the Bolognese spaghetti which was excellent. Perfectly cooked pasta and wonderfully spiced bolognese sauce. This was truly an excellent dish reminiscent of the now discontinued tomato basil spaghettini they used to have here. We also had the Hawaiian pizza. This was excellent too. Hot and fresh with a chewy crust, good red sauce, and a wonderful mixture of the ham and sweet pineapples. It's not a pizza that will change your life, but it's good and way above Pizza Hut, etc. Then we had the key lime pie for dessert. Simple presentation on the plate with whipped cream from a spray can (we saw them spraying it on), but the pie itself was a good mix of sweet with the sour lime taste. Other things we like here include the avocado club egg rolls (wonderful crispy shell around hot bacon, cheese, and avocado), Thai chicken pizza (one of their best), and the salted caramel pudding. The special menu was a great deal with all those courses for $35. Normally CPK is not a bargain, though, especially some of their desserts which are very basic but command $7-$9 plus $2 more for one scoop of ice cream. Mojo Overall this isn't a life changing pizza, but it's definitely above average. There are lots of yummy non pizza things on the menu as well, and the service is typically consistently friendly. The food here was very mediocre for the price, 17 dollars for a small pizza is just not worth it to me! Took forever to be served after being seated. I would understand if it was during 5:00-6:00 pm to take a minute, but we came and ate at 3:15, the server was very rude and was commenting on my friends weight, and height. Did not appreciate that. The restaurant was full of kids who were very loud and annoying, this was way below my expectations. When it came time to pay the server commented about how much of a tip we left. I've been going to this location for a while and always had a great experience. I love the food and the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the Hispanic lady waitress was very judgmental and rude. It took her 10 minutes to get drinks, and she never offered us bread and oil. I had to ask her and by that time, we were almost done with our dinner. If you remember what CPK was like back in the 2010s, the food is still as good. This location's service is severely lacking, however. First, the server and probably the bartender had no idea what simple syrup is for sweetening a drink. For the tortilla soup we ordered, apparently there was no need to have any tortilla strips in it, and we had to ask her twice to finally get a paper to-go cup of tortilla strips after the soup was over half gone. Our server offered that a pizza we were interested in getting was big enough to share, but then when we ordered it to share and she brought it out, we were not given plates for each of us. Apparently we were supposed to share it on the large platter it was served on. Anything we ordered or needed was only provided after she addressed two other tables before she could even consider what we had ordered or needed that she failed to bring. I was treated me to an incredible meal last week at CPK Polaris. Each dish that arrived was better than the last. Our first two dishes were the bianco flatbread and the spicy buffalo cauliflower. What I loved about the cauliflower was that even after being breaded and soaked in buffalo sauce it still came out crispy. Next up was the avocado club egg rolls which were the kids absolute favorite. Served with a homemade buttermilk ranch and I'm not a huge ranch fan but could drown in this batch. There was also a ranchito sauce which was a more spicy ranch but I didn't find it any more spicy than the regular ranch. The salad course included one of their new powerbowls which was healthy and fresh. The veggies had crunch to them and was a perfect balance of being healthy but filling. A few of my favorite dishes came next. The cedar plank salmon which was served alongside succotash made for a perfect sweet + salty dish, the wild mushroom strozzapreti which was insanely flavorful and hearty and finally the wild mushroom pizza drizzled with truffle oil. The truffle oil is an add on but trust me and add it on. It really adds to the flavor of the pizza. I will say that my fear is that those that are not the biggest fans of mushrooms would skip the strozzapreti but don't. This dish really had my heart and was done so well. I cannot wait to go back for this dish alone. A sangria flight accompanied my meal + my favorite of the three that was included was the beehive {made with white wine, Cointreau, lavender and puree strawberry}. If you're looking for non-alcoholic, I would choose the cucumber reviver {pureed pineapple and cucumber with a hint of mint} sweet and refreshing. The strawberry mango cooler was also quite yummy and the kids favorite. The dish that was the highlight of the meal was the butter cake. 3 layers of cake merged perfectly together. The first layer is a thin layer of granulated toasted sugar, second layer is yellow cake and the third layer is cheesecake. Topped with vanilla ice cream and served warm, it melts in your mouth. Even if you're full - get this dish. It really completes the whole experience and is so worth the extra full belly. I really can't rave enough about the experience we had. Everything was perfection. From the food to the service. If you go at lunch, they have some really great lunch time combos like pizzas and salads and soups and sandwiches. read more

I've been to CPK a million times but this time I tried two new things and they were both amazing! The sweet and sour cauliflower was great! The breading on the outside was crispy and the cauliflower was not soggy which I highly appreciated. The star of the show was the butter cake. Omg the butter cake. I'm sure there is probably 500 calories per bite but Jesus every bite is worth it! It's big enough to share (if you have the heart to share with someone) and it is amazing with the ice cream it comes with. I can't wait to go back just for that! read more

Customer Service: The customer service here is on point. The woman who seated us was nice but I kind of hated that even as soon as this establishment opened we were piled into a crowded seating area. Our waiter was great, on top of refills and making sure we didn't need anything else. Quality/Quantity: The quality of the food looked great, A+ for presentation. However every5hing was blan. This is not the CPK that I remember. I was disappointed in the Tequila Chicken Pasta. My step-father was fine with his Thai Chicken Pizza but also said the sauce was watered down. I love CPK! I always have a great experience here. The spinach artichoke dip, tomato soup, BBQ chicken chopped salad, Sante Fe Pizza are some of my favorites. I find the food, recipes very consistent. I also find the polaris location a great place to have a cozy meal and glass of wine, I love the environment even though it's in a mall.
