Go elsewhere. I got a keg for a Super Bowl party & was over changed, but I didn't think to look until I was suspicious of the guy's resistance to giving me a $30 keg rental/refundable holding charge. Not only was he resistant to give me back A SMALL HOLDING RETURN, but when he had no choice but to give me the money back he wanted to do it in cash... I obliged and he handed me 2 $10 bills. I looked at him and said "where's the other $10?" And he eventually gave it to me. ASK FOR A RECEIPT IF YOU BUY FROM HERE - THEY TOOK ALL OF THE MONEY IN MY CHECKING ACCOUNT. I live around the corner from Beer City and was regular customer there. I always noticed that they would take my card but not have me sign a receipt or enter my pin and they did not give a receipt unless I asked for one. Then one day I bought a six pack of white claw to bring to a friend's birthday. I was in a rush so I didn't ask for a receipt. The next day I was on a train when I checked my email and saw 5 notifications of overdraft from my bank. BEER CITY CHARGED ME $1,214.98 FOR A SIX PACK OF WHITE CLAW. This was more than I had in my checking account and soon I didn't have anything in my savings either. I called them and they said they would reverse the charges but I didn't get my money back until FIVE DAYS LATER. Every time I spoke to them on the phone they were so extremely casual about the situation and unapologetic. I had to borrow money from friends just to buy food and take the bus. Their consolation to me? They returned the money I would've paid for the six pack. Never mind a six pack costs about the same as a single overdraft fee, of which I had 5 because of their negligence. I don't even understand how something like this can happen - it's not like they just added an extra zero to the charge by mistake. Is there no oversight?? This whole experience showed me that Beer City does not care at all about their customers. I am never going there again, and if you choose to go, I would HIGHLY recommend you ask for a receipt because clearly this situation is not a "big deal" to the managers of Beer City. read more

I love beer city. It is the strangest place I have ever purchased beer from. Need a case of Lions head? Got it. Kenzinger? Got it. Bag of pork rinds? Got it. How about a creepy flasher-esque trench coat? Got it. Ceramic ducks? Got em. Need a new du-rag? Gotcha covered. Metal champagne flutes? Got em. Off brand cheese dip? Mhmm. This is the finest beer distributor I have ever been to because they have a lot of beers. They have so many cases of beer! And so many of them are so cheap! They also have lots of fancier beers which is very nice. My favorite part about Beer City is that on Christmas I came in to buy a case of beers and the nice man behind the counter gave me the only Christmas present I got this year! It was a plastic "Slice-N-Serve" knife. I have never used it and will probably never use it, but it was the nicest gesture and I will never buy cases of beers from any place except Beer City. read more

This place is NUTTY but it's my local beer distributor so I've got to represent. The owners are really nice, and we want to convince them to get a punch card...every time you get something dry cleaned you get a punch, five punches get you a free case! I doubt they'll do it. But I can dream. Great beer selection but can tend to be a little pricey. read more

I joke that I bought a house in Fishtown so I could be near this place. Raj, the owner, always has a good selection of beers in his walk-in fridge. The prices are reasonable and there is plenty of specialty and local beers to choose from. I even special ordered a case of an obscure winter ale, and he gave me a very fair price and got it here within the week. Bonus - he runs the dry cleaners next door, too, so you can get suds with your laundry. read more

This place is a good time. Unless you're behind someone buying 5 packs of Newps and paying in change. Which is like every other time. Then it's not so fun. Usually you can get in and get out, and once they know you, they don't bother with your ID, which saves me time, because I don't want to be standing in there for more than a minute, tops. One time the lady who works there told me I need to pray more. She said "You remember to eat, you remember to pray." Then I went home and instead of praying I drank 30 beers and played Modern Warfare 2. read more

This place is an experience to be had. In my household it is kindly referred to as Stinky's because it smells bad in there. I believe it has been closed down for selling to minors at least ten times in the past three years and sometimes a minor will stand outside and request that you buy beer for him/her. The cases are kind of retarded expensive and the selection is eh but you can walk to it from my house so that earns it a star. You can also take your dry cleaning there as it is a combination dry cleaner/beer distributor so add a star for that. The final star is for the amazing name. Oh Stinky's. read more

Strange little place with so much to offer. Beer + random Indian trinkets + staff that will stare at your ID until it is expired = the most fun you'll have buying a case. Usually have ridiculous specials on beer (i.e. cases of Bud Lite with Lime for $9). Located just off of 95, where Aramingo meets Girard. read more

It's pretty much the latest beer distributor open around. While it's mostly macro brews, there are some decent craft options. The prices are average. Even when a blizzard shut down the whole city, beer city was open for business. It's not my first choice, but it's saved me a few times. Usually open until 9pm. Once they thought my ID was fake, questioned me heartily, and that was annoying. read more

Cases and kegs open 7 days a week

Tried for no stars. What ripoff artists! Bought a case of skunked beer and man behind counter put me on the phone with his manager who asked me to contact the distributor for a refund. I hung up on manager and would not leave store without refund and got it. Clerk tried to lecture me after handing me refund and I bolted. Expect same treatment and same condition of beer. Just because they swept the floor doesn't mean these people are any less dirty than the last management. read more
