I've been coming to this Piñon location for trivia nights about 6 months now. It's a super cool spot for grabbing drinks with friends and playing DJ Trivia! This location is nicely sized with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also allow dogs, which is kinda cool. I should have found out if it's 21+ only but I haven't asked nor have I stopped in with my kids. I will update my review when I find out. The selection of alcoholic beverages here is unmatched. They have a ton of rotating taps, some with things I've never seen on tap anywhere else. They also have a great selection of bottles and cans that you can take to go or drink in house. I also really appreciate their selection of NA options, including hop water for a low calorie NA choice. Nice! Great vibes and friendly service here at Piñon. Also good, but today I went Satan, lol. My buddy got two of the Stickman Brewing IPAs - Actually, I was done after my first beer and a whole night of drinking, but he insisted on getting a second. As a good friend, I could not let him drink alone, lol. Atmosphere - Still love the buildout, what a great space. Decent size location, enjoy both the indoor and outdoor spaces. Starting at Zephyr's Wine Bar, then to The Cheese Board, then here. Open 7 days a week from noon till 10pm; Yelp's hours differ slightly. Service - 5 stars. Friendly, welcoming, small talk, jokes, etc. Specials and HH available, see website. $1 off drafts and wells. Price - $8 a beer + tax + tip. Came out to approximately $40, the price for good beer. Nice bar located in So Reno with a good selection of beers ( local too, not all) with classics such as Coors and Stella! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with fire pits. Most Fridays there is live music and 14 June they has the best band ever as this group of 6@5 got the house energized with people dancing and just enjoying the classic and original songs by Michael Régio Band! I really enjoyed this place! The bar tender was great, personable and funny but not hovery or distant--a perfect balance. I ordered a flight and had a variety of interesting beers. They have a wide and diverse selection, and some coolers things that aren't on tap. This place is right across from Reno Ice so we went on our way to/from the ice rink. I no longer live in this part of town, but if I did, I would visit here so often! Huge, beautiful indoor and outdoor space. So many beer, cider, and even a few wine options on tap. Tons of unique beers, alcoholic seltzers, and non-alcoholic choices in the fridges. Friendly bartenders and lots of seating options. I went to a private party here on an afternoon that the bar was closed to the public, and it was an amazing space to host a drinks party for 70 or so people. There's only a few parking spots directly in front of the location, but the parking lot shared by all the businesses in this new plaza is spacious. I'm a member of the run club that meets here at 11 am every 3rd Saturday of the month for a 3 mile group run. Come join us! read more

Great place to hang out for some tasty cocktails and a massive selection of micros. The owner was super chill and went above and beyond, that's how you make a business successful! We went for a nonprofit fundraiser and it couldn't have went better, cheers to the staff for making it the best it could be! As seen from the other Yelper's pics, they have a great selection of drafts, including some wine and there is a cooler with some other canned or bottled selections. I love 'big' dark beers and they had Dragons Milk on tap, that's something you don't get everyday. They do cocktails here as well, their seasonal menu was good for this time of year. I had the dirty santa, wife had a holiday themed lemon drop. Both were so good we ordered a second even though we only planned on having 1 drink before dinner. I absolutely love this place! During the warmer months, you'll find it open and airy, with lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and events happening all the time! During the colder months, you can come in and bring in food or order food from one of the other awesome businesses (longboards, cheese board, etc.) and enjoy their extensive list of various beers, ciders and wines. There's also some refrigerators where you can grab a drink to enjoy there or take with you. We just came for their DJ Trivia and had the best time! Even though they serve mostly alcohol, I would definitely say that the overall vibe is totally family friendly, and a must for anyone looking for a good time! read more

A great place to hang out and drink a beer. Has lots of seating inside and outside and is dog friendly! Lots of events going on too like live music and trivia. There are a few restaurants near by to order food, heard food trucks show up but when I was their on a Saturday, no food trucks showed up. I ended up ordering a sandwich and charcuterie from The Cheeseboard. Next time I will probably bring food. read more

I love this location on Wedge Parkway in South Reno. The plaza it's in has a ton of new restaurants, bars and shopping so it's an excellent place to go to hang out. This location is pretty large and there is a lot of outdoor seating. It's near the ice skating rink/library/sports fields area. Parents - drop off your kids at practice and come have a drink! They also host trivia on Monday nights! There are larger tables available that are good for groups. When we were there the AC inside wasn't working so it was quite warm, but everyone was still in good spirits. Similar to the other Pinion, they do not serve food inside but you can bring in outside food. They of course have a ton of beers on tap, there is something for everyone! They also have several fridges of canned/bottled beer that you can try or take home with you. read more

Honestly if you are looking to try new beers then this is your place! I love that it's located in South Reno because it gives you more options other than downtown. I love that you can try not only local beers but also other smaller breweries. With about 30 drinks on tap, you're bound to find something that peaks your interest. I am a cider fan so I found a yummy cider from the East Coast which I typically wouldn't have tried since I hadn't seen it but this gave me the opportunity to try it! Service was good, they gave good recommendations and this establishment allows pups to come visit! We saw quite a bit of adorable doggies enjoying themselves. This is a great place in south Reno to hang out with friends. Great service at the bar, even on a busy night. They have a wide variety of beers, ciders and hard kombucha. They are dog friendly. With a lovely patio for you and your 4-legged friend to hang out. I was here for a fundraising event for a local rescue for senior dogs. I think it speaks highly of a local business who not only opens their doors for an event, but gives a portion of their proceeds to the charity themselves. They even made special cocktails for the event! Win/win to me! read more

This is such a great local spot! Last night we attended a fundraiser they hosted and it was amazing! The tap house venue is beautiful inside and out and it is very dog-friendly! There is indoor and outdoor seating and a very large bar area with plenty of TV's for sports fans. I met both of the owners and they were super friendly and the nicest couple you could imagine! The two bartenders were both wonderful as well! The place was packed and yet the service was amazing. They were attentive and friendly and gave beer/drink suggestions and their service was fast. There is a large selection of beers and ciders to please everyone. They also had the most delicious peanut butter and jelly shots and glasses for the event! I only wish we lived closer because this would make a great place to hangout regularly. read more

Nice addition to South Reno, LOTS of great beer choices on tap and 2 coolers full of more varieties MORE BEER sold in singles, wine and nonalcoholic beverages!..sadly, for me anyway, no food, nada. Similar to other beer establishments you'll need to "order out & retrieve" from nearby restaurants which I hear will be opening up soon. We left after one delicious beer to go eat somewhere. Interior has a nice good size bar and plenty of table seating. Looking forward to warmer days ahead when they can open their garage type door to the outside seating area and enjoy the Reno Foothills view! Located in the new strip mall on Wedge Pkwy across from Reno Ice Arena they are one of the first occupants so parking is OK for now but will be a challenge once all of the tenants get established and everyone using the one entrance/exit access. Good place. Good times. Good people. Pinion has a great vibe. Rollup doors open with a nice August breeze and people chilling on the back patio. They have a great selection of local and west coast beers on tap and a couple large coolers full of some great canned beers too. Glad this place is here in my hood. I will be there often. read more

Piñon Bottle has certainly been growing the brand around the area, and it is great to see another craft joint pop up way down in the southern part of town. Having visited their other two stores many times before, in fact they are some of my regular go-to's for pints, I can say they remain a fantastic spots to enjoy a round or two. This new taproom is on Wedge Parkway, right across the street from the Ice Arena, in a brand new shopping center. Easy to find, easy to park at, just watch the cross traffic coming in and out. Walking in, it immediately feels familiar, with much of the same cool aesthetics and vibes of their other locations. Same setup as before, a few dozen taps of assorted beers, wines, and so on, with products ranging from national brands, to local favorites, to other craft brews from around the country. Plus, as usual, their fridge cases are loaded with all sorts of canned options you could either partake of here or buy to-go. The service here was quite friendly and prompt. And one aspect I particularly like about this spot is their outdoor patio areas. Though currently unfinished and currently being the dead of winter, I have no doubt that come summertime, this will be a simply phenomenal spot to sit out on during the evening and look out over the south valleys while you enjoy your beverage. All told, I am really happy to see Piñon continue to grow, and bringing some libations to a new part of the city. Cheers, all! read more

What a great addition to South Reno! Especially since they are one of the only dog friendly bars/breweries in this part of town. The Midtown Pinon is extremely dog friendly and I'm so glad this location is no different. My Aussie loves coming here, he's always welcome both inside/outside and they even bring out a water bowl for him. He became friends with a huge St. Bernard/Malamute mix while we were here most recently! Pinon does not have food but there are nearby restaurants that you can order from and then bring your food here. We did that with pizza and wings from Longboards which is just a few doors down! I love that Pinon has such a wide selection of beers, there's something for everyone. I got the Pigeon Head Pilsner this time. They have several events at this location, including weekly trivia. The patio is awesome to hang out on when it's warm outside. I also love that it's right across from Reno Ice, my husband plays ice hockey there and this is a nice place to grab a drink before or after. We are big Pinon fans and will continue to support them at both locations! read more

This place is the bomb!! They have a great selection of beers on tap and bunches of drinks in cans for take away. The inside and outside space is welcoming and comfortable. It's super easy to meet people there and we have had lots of fun conversations with new friends. They also encourage private parties as well as having trivia nights and live bands. My friend & I went here for a fundraiser to support a local animal rescue & we were very impressed! The ambience is very welcoming, there is lots of room to sit, along with a lovely outdoor patio & fire pits. There are a lot of beers, ciders & kombucha on tap to choose from along with large refrigerators with canned options as well.
