They've got a great reward on your birthday. When you spend $25 at Beffa's, you get a $10 credit. It was my friend's BD and we went to Beffa's to celebrate. I was picking up the tab, but we used her rewards to save a few bucks in today's economy. To toast my BFF's birthday, I had one of the many craft beers Beffa's has on tap and the majority of them are local. With it being my friends birthday, she had a glass of Prosecco. Cheers! We both went with one of the smash burgers for our lunches. The birthday lady went with a Frisco and I chose the Pub. The Frisco was a single patty with white American cheese, Swiss cheese and 1000 island dressing on sourdough. My Pub was also a single patty with "pub" cheddar, bacon, pickle and sautéed onion on a brioche bun. I loved the crispy bacon and sautéed onions, it really made the burger. We literally live 5 minutes from here so I'm not sure why we haven't tried it! We have pub passes from 2024 and are trying to get through as many as possible before the end of the year and this was on the list so we decided to give it a try. It's more of a divey spot, very casual. The service was fantastic all night long though, we sat at the bar and it did not disappoint. They have some great beer and wine options, and from what we could tell, made some pretty great cocktails. Their whiskey selection was also great. Their fries are amazing and crispy. The burger was good but the patty was a little dry for my liking. My husband really enjoyed the sandwich. For convenience, I think we would definitely stop in here again. First time here at what, evidently, is a beloved St. Louis bar/restaurant. Loved it! We were there at happy hour (they even have happy hour on Saturdays until 8pm!), and they have outstanding drink deals. The craft cocktails were $7. I had a very generous Manhattan. The food isn't anything over the moon, but it's solid. I had the Pub Smash burger and mashed potatoes. I devoured it all (without shame ). I'm a cheapskate and thought the prices were great. I come here at least once a month for trivia. Their prices and vibes are so good. The owners, bartenders, and waiters are all so nice! They do not have a sign on the bar so look out for their big parking lot behind their building. They have trivia that starts at 6:30pm and happy hour from 4-7pm. Finally a spot with trivia that starts early and happy hour that runs late! They have other cool events like music bingo and karaoke. Highly recommend coming here to pregame for a downtown event or dropping in after a sporting event or concert! My go to order is the crispy chicken wrap with hot honey and a side of fries. Both have great flavor and generous portions. I have tried the frisco smash but it is a little smaller and lacks the 1000 island sauce. Easy parking! Another stop on our beer passport today. Had absolutely no idea this place even existed. Apparently they are known for not having a sign, but it has been in business since 1899! Still family owned by the 4th generation from Switzerland and we had some great service while we were there. Pretty good beer menu and a full bar. They look to be a very popular place for watching the STL FC soccer matches. Known for their smash burgers but when I go back for food I will be trying the Orange Chicken Bowl! Went here for a quick meet up with a friend that came into town who was driving cross country. They were so nice and very attentive. We just hadn't seen each other in over 10 years so we were so caught up in conversation since we only had 40 minutes. The place was kind of bare but it was 11:30am in the middle of the week. Just went to trivia here (once a month on Wednesdays ) and had such a good time! They have a great variety of food with plenty of healthy options + fries are out of this world. A hidden GEM! Came with a friend to get a bite to eat and maybe a cocktail before going to see Shakespeare in the Streets. The food was GREAT, the service was AWESOME, and the cocktails were DELICIOUS! The exterior of the building is VERY unassuming, but it's SO nice once you get inside. We've been meaning to come to this place for quite a while, I keep passing it while going downtown and it looks cute. We were not disappointed when we checked in for this weeks burger week. The staff was really friendly and very well dressed. There was lots of natural light and open seating around the restaurant. The Burger Week deal was a cheeseburger with toasted raviolis on top, such a St. Louis icon! We shared some sides and also grabbed some beers as well. I also think they have a happy hour until 6 o'clock, but we arrived right afterwards and weren't able to take it advantage of it. The service was really good, they weren't too busy when we were there so the bar tenders and servers were really attentive, checking on us frequently. The food was really good, i ordered the chicken and waffles. It comes with bacon and your choice of honey, maple syrup, or chipotle honey. The waffle was very fluffy and the chicken was fried very well. It wasn't overly seasoned but was seasoned well. The drink I had was the Reese's cold brew, which was chocolatey with a nice wintertime cream. The ambiance was pretty nice, we went around the holidays so they were playing Christmas music (the best Christmas songs) and had Christmas lights along the ceiling. We were visiting from out of town and the decor not only gave Christmas but also showed a good bit of St Louis pride. Overall, I had a good experience, it was affordable, had good service, good decor and ambiance, as well as good food. I think one thing they could improve on is probably organization. I loved the smash burger with crispy, pub chips. The wedge salad was a large portion, very fresh, and tasty. I loved the chicken wings and thought the sauce had the prefect level of heat. Omg... and the reuben rolls! The rolls were essentially three large, cheesy egg rolls filled with corned beef and Swiss cheese. Invited a former coworker to have lunch so we could catch up, and walking in it felt like a lot of business people lunch here. There are two entrances to Beffa's Bar and Restaurant, one near the parking lot and on on Olive. Both get you to the same place, but as a first timer, I was a little confused which door to use. I'm a smart cookie though and figured it out. The menu at Beffa's Bar and Restaurant is fairly small. Understandable for a joint still finding its footing in the St. Louis foodie scene. I selected the pub burger which was a burger, bacon and sunny-side up egg served on a pretzel bun. Also ordered a side of fries, which was an additional $4 but felt like their own meal because the serving size was so generous. My friend selected the double smash burger. It looked fine. Nothing stand out. Beffa's Bar and Restaurant got the job done without being flashy or taking too many risks. Here's my beefa with Beffa's. The pricing did not mirror the meal. MY pub burger was $15 and my fries were $4. Maybe that's not a lot to the finance people coming in from Wells-Fargo, but to me it was a little pricey for what I got. I tried to be understanding as they are a newly re-opened business and they're probably trying to recoup. Would love to see a lower priced lunch menu in the future. As for the atmosphere at Beffa's Bar and Restaurant, it was also a trade confused. I know this is a historic business and they may be a tad controlled by confines. The bathrooms felt like my Catholic grade school cinderblock bathrooms. There's an odd cafeteria style bar in the kitchen. Again, I'm sure that's a carryover from generations past.
