Mozzarella sticks
Beth K.

This place is awesome! The minute you walk in you see warmly greeted by the staff. The wings and sides are really good. What's great is that you get the full wing ( drumstick and flat ) . The fries, onion ring, and mozzarella sticks were amazing. Not sure if it was beacuase we were sitting outside the tips of the buffalo wings were a bit cold, but otherwise everything was delicious , I loved the Thai chili wings. It was very causal and friendly environment with options for indoor and outdoor dining.

Awesome service as soon as I walked in. The bartender greeted me immediately and was super helpful while I was ordering. I ordered a size salad and a burger with no bun. The burger was OK, it was like premium, frozen beef not a fresh patty, it was just ok. I wouldn't get it again. However, the salad stole the show. It was loaded with cheese, onion, egg, cucumber, tomato, and a raspberry vinaigrette. The ambience is like bar and grill. They have arcade games and they had sports playing on all the TVs. I would definitely come back and try something else off the menu.

Decent food and great customer service. I didn't taste anything that "stood out" to me. The chicken was good without any sauce (that's a plus) but nothing spectacular. Fries were seasoned exceptionally well.

Birthday Party in the Game Room

Food, Service, Overall Good Vibe! This neighborhood bar and grill is a hidden gem in the DeBaliviere neighborhood (near Forest Park and Wash U) in St. Louis! We already loved this place but now it's our favorite after the top-notch treatment we received when hosting our son's birthday party there! If you are looking for a feel-good neighborhood dive-bar feel with amazing food and the best staff, Mack's is the spot for you! There's a small finish room and bar, with a larger bar and game room on the other side. For those who enjoy cigars. There is still another space with a bar you can go enjoy your stogie (they don't sell cigars so be sure to bring your own). Have a hankering for something sweet, step outside and right around the corner is Mack's Delicious, serving ice cream and other decadent desserts! Five stars isn't enough!

Solid place that's low key to have a drink. Outside of that, the food is so processed and just blah.

Ask the Community - Mack's Bar & Grill

How is parking?

I have found that it's best to park in the smaller lot that sits up on a hill. It is located across from the side of the Bar & Grill, which is in front of his Ice Cream shop on Belt, right between Pershing and the alley.

I love that fact that they offer craft cocktails. The bar area is intimate and cozy. Since we just left from practically next door and enjoyed a plethora of cocktails. I couldn't drink any more nor did I want to. I follow them on IG to see what's the latest happenings and cocktail creations. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door with smiling faces. As soon as I walked in the door I was so excited for this game room because it's not typical. It's clean and intimate, like an upscale parlor. The bar is inviting and cute. The games are beyond reasonable. We love ski ball and it's located in the center of the game room against the wall with several attached, so you have to be crammed next to other patrons. Ski ball is only $0.50 a game and if you score high enough it automatically resets to give you another game. Where can you play ski ball this cheap. They also have pin ball games, arcade games, board games and more. We played several games of Connect Four-----CLASSIC. They have comedy night and karaoke in addition to gaming. We absolutely love this spot, can't wait to return.

Here are a few trivia night tips: 1. Arrive EARLY - trivia starts at 7 and you will not find a table if you show up later than 6:45 2. Try to grab a table near a speaker - it gets loud in there, but it's easier to hear the trivia questions if you're near a speaker 3. Grab a drink before trivia starts because there are only short breaks in between trivia rounds and the bar is packed on Wednesdays. Trivia is free to participate, but it is expected that you purchase a drink to play 4. Bring your own set of pens if you can! It's helpful to the trivia staff so they don't have to wrangle loose pens at the end of the night 5. Trivia is more fun with groups of 4+. The winning teams usually have 6-10 people 6. There are 5 total rounds of trivia with 10 questions each. For the 10th question, they play a music clip and you have to guess the name of the band/artist. As far as the place itself, ITAP has high top tables, a long bar, a couple of couches, and a nice patio area. The service is always as good as it can be when it's busy on trivia night. Expect to wait at the bar for a little while to place your order! There's a large selection of beers on tap & cans/bottles. For the non-beer drinkers, there's a fair selection of seltzers and canned cocktails as well. They don't serve food, but you can bring in your own food or snacks.

We were just about to order the toasted ravioli which are locally noteworthy here. Except that in the introduction and telling about the place, our waitress informed us that Blueberry Hill is also owned by the same people who own Pin Up Bowl across the street. We had been there earlier in the week for a work party and the toasted ravioli there are the same ones that arrive by the same delivery here. So we skipped those. We ordered drinks and found some nice options. I had a tin of a local light beer and that was quite tasty. Looking for something different, we went with the fried cheese balls. Sadly, not that great. Battered and fried, they were not very flavorful and no sharpness to the cheese. Peel off the batter and they look like just the same cheese cubes you can get at the supermarket. So I'd say skip these too. Otherwise, Blueberry Hill is cool. The memorabilia on the walls, the fun games in the next room and don't skip the Duck Room. It's a neat place and maybe on my next visit, something more substantial to eat with our drinks. [Review 439 of 2026 - 508 in Missouri - 25622 overall]

I don't remember what I had on my most recent visit. It may have been only a lemonade; I wasn't feeling well after an ice cream float at Fitz's across the street (lol @ my dietary choices). Blueberry Hill is locally iconic to the point that the place feels borderline touristy on a busy weekend afternoon. However, if you come in the evening during the week, it's much quieter and low-key, and I prefer that vibe. After you order, if it isn't too busy, try to spend a few minutes looking at the walls of photos of celebrities who have visited Blueberry Hill. (At least, I think they've all visited and it isn't a mixture of those folks & photos from founder Joe Edwards' private collection. Even if it were the latter, it still would be fun to look at the photos.)

There is some limited outdoor seating on the sidewalk and indoor seating. Our group enjoyed delicious appetizers, and there were limited happy hour specials from their cocktail menu. I wanted wine and must say that they have really great wine - I enjoyed both the Pinot Noir and the Chardonnay. Also they had the most adorable bathroom with framed high school photos of celebrities (St. Louis is the most high school fixated city in America, IYKYK). The service was friendly but a bit uneven, considering how empty it was when we first arrived. There were some long waits for drinks, and a couple of mix-ups. I believe the main source of confusion was that one big check had been started, but with people coming and going at different times, it had to be split into separate checks on the back side so people could pay before leaving. I do recommend them for happy hour and plan to return.
