I was kinda in a rush so couldn't stay longer than the 30 min original appt so left after waiting for 15 min or so. Krysti texted me a bit later saying I could come then or could reschedule. She took me on a Saturday and made up for the confusion. She was so kind and attentive. She explained everything and gave options. I appreciated her input and ideas. She added drop sleeves to change my strapless into my dream dress, bowing to make it fit perfectly, extra lift/padding in the top, & a bustle. All affordable & speedy!! Initially meeting with Krysti went really well. It seemed I was in good hands with my wedding dress alterations. However, after my second fitting Krysti had to re-sew two bustles. She said she could make the fix while I was there, so I didn't try the dress on again until my wedding day. When the time came to put my dress on, Krysti had sewn the top layer of my dress to the second layer, so the train wouldn't lay flat. We ended up having to cut the two bustles out of my dress and the whole night the dress was dragging. In addition, she tightened the sides of my dress so tight that the clasps in the back could barely stay closed, they ended up coming undone at the end of the night. I will post pictures if Yelp will let me. Obviously, Krysti has great reviews on here. I'm just not sure why my experience didn't go well. read more

Krysti was easy to speak with and extremely timely. Her location is quaint and a nice drive out into the country. She made me feel relaxed when it came to my alterations. It needed to be shortened, the lining in the top needed to be fixed/flatted, the dress needed to be taken in, and the bustle needed to be fixed. My dress stayed exactly how it looked before (which was my biggest fear!) it was just a little shorter, a little tighter, and a little smoother! :) She also provided tips on how to prepare it prior to my wedding day to get it to look its best. read more

Visited Kristi twice for consult on dress. Quoted me a prices at the first visit which seamed reasonable but and when I returned to pick-up finished alterations she tried to charge me more money for the same amount of work which is dishonest. Also, For a "professional" this was terrible worksmanship that she did not at least use the same color of thread as the fabric on the dress. White thread on a pink dress. Level of care and detail was not there. Expensive for amount of time and work. This includes work on two dress she had worked on for my friends. For my dress, Kristi cut the pink satin straps and sewed them inside the dress with white thread which if I did this myself would have been 2-minutes worth of work she was trying to charge me for $30, which she initially quoted me $15. I was pretty upset she did not at least use a color thread similar to the fabric. The straps were still long and twisted. Also, the eyelet she charged me to fix (after she cut the original eyelet off) was not aligned to the hook. She also absent-mindly cut off loose thread that was suppose to keep the zipper down. She did not fix this after she cut it off infront of me so it flapped and I had to fix it myself when I got home. For the hem of the skirt, she freehand cut the tool skirt but when I got home I had to recut the tool fabric again myself as it was not straight and jagged. The pink satin layers of the skirt were also hemmed with white thread, disappointing. read more

I wore a tight crepe dress which could show any imperfection and the fit is absolutely perfect after krystis work. She added a French bussel, took the dress in everywhere, shortened the length, and found a creative way to tighten the chest since shortening the straps would have messed up the dramatic low back. Ladies, take your wedding dress here! Krysti worked last minute magic with my dress! I was lucky that overall it didn't need many alterations, but my beautiful dress did have one big downside I tried to ignore but couldn't--the shoulder straps felt like they were trying to cut me to the bone! Seriously, it was awful. My shoulders were red instantly, it HURT a lot, and I really think that with how sharp and jagged the seam felt (shocking considering the softness of the fabric) that I would actually bleed by the end of the night. Noooooo thank you. I took my dress back to Krysti maybe two weeks before my day to talk about it again, and what she did not only made my dress SO much more comfortable, it actually looked so much better! The straps had some of that see through gauze-like material where from a distance you should only see the leaves/floral pattern. Krysti cut it away completely in the front without comprising the support of the dress. It made the neckline much prettier, and it took away that awful razor sharp seam. Best of all, she didn't it while I was there! I didn't have to wait or come back. Added to this was a quick turnaround turn for my first round of alterations (the only round beside the adjustment mentioned above) and someone who I could speak to easily and who could easily understand and talk with me, and the experience was complete. Krysti saved the wedding dress! We had taken the dress to another alterations shop two months previous when the bride went for her final fitting the dress did not fit properly at all and was a mess. We called Behind the Seams eleven days before the wedding with our tale of woe and Krysti agreed to take a look at the dress to see if she could correct. I bought my dress from The White Dress in Portland, and in two easy visits, Krysti was able to turn this dress into MORE than I ever could have dreamed of! I wanted to have the straps tightened, as well as change the overall look of the top part of the dress. I found my wedding dress at "Adorned in Grace" and fell in love with it. However, it needed "something" that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Krysti was recommended as an excellent seamstress, so I took my dress to her with my fingers crossed. I'm horrible with the creative vision that some people possess, but luckily she was there to help. I knew I wanted a vintage feel, and loved the look of lace. With her suggestions, my dress underwent a total transformation. We added lace above the neckline, cap sleeves, and a lace back that had buttons down the middle. She altered it, and shortened it to a perfect tea length as well. To tie it all together, she added a waistline embellishment and matching hair piece. She even incorporated the lace into these! My dress was literally a new creation that was exactly what I had hoped for. I had a mini freak out when we couldn't find anything that would work for the bridesmaids dresses. She offered to make those as well! I picked the pattern and fabric and she created their dresses from scratch. This way, I was able to pick the perfect colors to complement our theme.
