Fir dress purchased. Ended up being dance dress on beach.
Stephanie G.

Literally, the day before My flight to Maui for my wedding in 8 days, I stopped in to perhaps get a different belt. I ended up getting an entire new dress and a new belt. Originally I spent 39 on the pink and white dress that I ended up using as my dance on the beach dress. I saw this dress on the rack and just had to try it on. For the moment I put it on. It felt like the dress that was made for me. The staff and the experience were flawless and the dress was exactly what I hope for. I guess I should say dresses.

The dresses I picked out were gorgeous but one of the ladies asked me if i was being forced to get married and it through off the whole vibe haha. I also didn't love any of the dresses they brought to me and wished they asked if i wanted help beforehand. This is a good place just had a couple concerns

Really a great experience here. They have a wonderful mission to help the Women of Portland and it was so nice to be able to find the perfect dress while also giving to such a great cause. They have a wide selection of options in all sizes and helpful volunteers to find you the right size and perfect gown! Couldn't recommend more!

An absolutely amazing experience! We came here after other consignment stores didn't have quite the selection I was looking for. There were so many high-end gowns here to try on in a variety of sizes. Prices were phenomenal (from 99-500), they had veils ready to try on (and buy for cheap), and the staff (who volunteers without pay mind you) were so friendly and helpful! I knew exactly what kinds of dresses I was interested in and my size, but perhaps if you don't know, it might be overwhelming so bring family/friends or ask a staff member to help you comb the racks. I personally loved the laid-back atmosphere of combing the racks and changing into the dresses myself (no awkward dressing room small talk with a consultant like some higher end places). And the cherry on top is that this business supports local women and sustainability in our clothing market! I happily purchased the dress of my dreams!

Very welcoming shop, super sweet and accommodating staff. Very clean facility, beautiful selection of dresses and they are clean and well kept. They really make you feel like a bride.

I LOVE this place. I love the volunteers working there and I love their mission. I did not end up getting a dress there but I wish I could've because what the money goes to is such an incredible thing to get to contribute to (the fight against sex trafficking). I will probably end up donating my dress here so some other girl can go in and get so excited to find the perfect dress at a cheap price for a good cause! Even though it is COVID, they were SO helpful. I had a private appointment that they made time for outside of what they had available that day because I was only in Portland for that morning. I had a full hour. I could bring 3 people with me and they gave me a bag of clips to go around and mark what dresses to try. I learned that even though I'm normally a 4, the size 6 wedding dresses are what fit better because they run so small. The lady there helped me get all jacked up to see different veils and she was so kind throughout the whole process. They had an area with a stand and mirrors to look at the dress. Their selection isn't huge (because it's all donation), especially they didn't have any veils I liked. And it is harder to find a dress because they have all been altered, but I still found one I liked a lot and put on hold for $25. Even though I didn't end up getting it because I found one at Brides for a Cause, I'm so glad I could contribute some money to their project!

I bought my dress here for my wedding and was blown away. There were many selections and styles avaiable, they also have designer selections. The staff are so helpful and so nice. I bought my dress as is and it fit like a glove, no alterations needed. But! If you need alterations they have someone here who is very helpful and available in clackamas as well. You really can't beat the price of the dresses. Everything we looked at was reasonably priced. I paid $200.00 for my dress and people's jaws literally dropped when they found out the price and how well it fit and the quality. My sister in law just got engaged and we were so blown away we came back! And she found her perfect dress here too! Again, helpful staff and the lady who does alterations was so helpful, as my sister in law needed a jeweled belt added to her dress and a few other alterations. Highly recommend coming here. Their mission and cause is so important, you don't leave feeling guilty that you just spent a bunch of money on a dress you will wear once. You're money is going to a good cause and you will leave with a great dress for your special day. Here is a photo from my wedding with the dress I bought from here!

Wonderful experience! We were a walk in appointment on a Saturday and the staff had no problem make space for us and helping us out. Were very friendly about us being a queer couple both trying on dresses. VERY reasonably priced! Walked away with a stunning dress for $300 and can feel good about where the money goes- to fight sex trafficking! Had a very large variety of plus size dresses.

LOVED my Annasul Y dress from Adorned... and I didn't feel too bad wading into Horsetail falls with it! Photo credit: Hazelwood Photography

We went in on Halloween day due to my son deciding last minute he wanted/ needed a suit for his Halloween costume. Hands down Bailey was & is the best. She was knowledgeable, helpful, kind, & patient beyond measure. my son didn't have a good idea of what he wanted but I knew it would have to be comfortable, good quality, & to his style. He's quite discerning about his clothes, especially his formal attire. Bailey pieced together suit pants, tuxedo shirt, blazer, vest, & a tie that my son not only loved, felt confident in, but was also comfortable. My son tried on so many things & we were in the store for what felt like hours (it was under 45 minutes thanks to how knowledgeable Bailey is) but Bailey never made me feel rushed or bothersome. Her no pressure, calm, & kind sales approach is why we left happy & will return again & again. My son looked epic on Halloween & at the opera! I can't say enough good things about this store. Bailey definitely deserves all the credit.

We had a change of plans and needed a kids suit for my son to be the ring bearer in our friend's wedding. When we called to ask about pricing they said kids suits are around $80, this apparently only applies to little kids, think 1-6YO suits not big kid suits. Thinking it was affordable we decided to add a suit on the order for my 9YO which ended up costing us $167, it would have been an extra $30 for shoes that were not available to rent, we were told we would have to purchase, so we ended up getting dress shoes at goodwill for $7.99. No where in store or online do they have any transparency on pricing, but also so much so that I heard multiple people refer to the suit rental payment as a "deposit" not a down payment which implies a partial refund upon return in good condition as it is considered a good faith payment to ensure future services. We were given the impression that since it was a deposit we would be receiving some of our funds back. My fiancee went to return the suits and tried to reason with them that we never would have rented a suit for him at this price point and hoped we could at least receive partial refund. If you have the option shop for a kids suit elsewhere or get something tailored from goodwill. The Mr.Formal total will put you in the $200 range for shoes and a basic black suit which was the same price for all the adult groomsmen in the wedding. My parents rented their suits from here and other family over the years and I used to recommend them to everyone, including our friend's wedding on Sunday. Not worth the money and will not be recommending them again.

It was incredibly disorganized and we had to dig through fabric books to find something similar to what he was looking for in terms of color. Tiger was nice, but VERY new to this. We were hoping for a little more guidance/expertise, but his style didn't quite align. He didn't ask any of the right questions and we had a significantly better experience at Indochino in terms of measuring. The cut on the suit is pretty bad. After alterations, it was still slightly off. We ended up taking it elsewhere to get the right fit. It took a long time time to get the suit, shirt, waistcoat, and tie. They didn't even tell us when it was ready for pick up - we had to call and ask. The first shirt that arrived was entirely wrong (and like three inches too short) so they had to make a new one. We ended up ordering his shirt from Proper Cloth instead (which turned out to be awesome). Overall, it's fine. But if we could do it all over again - we would definitely go somewhere else.

I ended up with a lovely sky-blue crepe tank dress with flounced, rhinestone-adorned tiers. When I walked in and saw how much formalwear she had in there, my first thought was, "Oh, no, there's going to be nothing but conservative, matronly, stiff, MOB dresses." That was clearly not the case. When I told Joy what I was looking for (formal but fun and sort of sassy) she immediately pulled out a fantastic selection of dresses and I had the best time trying them on. She even brought out shoes so I could get the full effect. It turned out to be a really fun experience and Joy was terrific. In response to another reviewer who felt the level of service was determined by how the shoppers are dressed -- I was in a T-shirt and capris when I went in, and I got terrific service from Joy herself, so thumbs up from me on that score, for sure. Thanks to Joy, I'm going to feel confident and fantastic at my daughter's wedding. If you need special-occasion wear, I highly recommend this shop.

I waited behind a single person getting checked out who was chatting with the cashier for 10 minutes about politics, life, sports, etc, after which they said "nice to meet you", (I thought they had been long time friends). The cashier finally got to me and I said I had an appt and he said oh then I'll take you to the other worker because I have to help these other people. The other worker said "what time is your appt" and I said 12:40. He said, with a brash tone, "well it's 12:25 so you can wait 15 minutes while I help this other guy". This other guy - who CAME IN AFTER ME AND DIDN'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. I was obviously like no, that's not how this works. I not only showed up before the other guy, I also had the foresight to make an actual appointment, and just because I'm 15 minutes early you're going to punish me, and be a complete jerk about it? The other guy behind me said it was fine, I should go first, so I did. The guy helping me then took my measurements and filled out a slip, gave it to me, and said to take it to the store in Chicago next weekend and they'll have my order ready for me. I literally said "are you sure this is all I have to do?", because it seemed too easy. And he literally said "yes." Next weekend I call the store in Chicago and they have NO ORDER IN MY NAME WHATSOEVER. The guy never put my order in. Fortunately the lady was very helpful and she got me fitted quickly and got a tux rental ready for me on the spot and it all worked out, but my entire trip to this store in clackamas was a complete waste of time, and I'm pretty sure that this vindictive guy intended on screwing me over. I suppose the moral is to show up for your appointment exactly at the appt time, even though that would mean you then would have to wait past your appt time because they'd be currently helping other people. In other words, WHAT THE F IS THE POINT OF MAKING AN APPOINTMENT?!?!?

I bought a suit and had it tailored. The buying experience was punctuated with me splitting time with a sales associate who was running between various customers. They failed to answer questions and failed to act on requests that would have led to up sales. The tailoring was okay, not great. I would have made some changes, but the service was so bad I didn't want to bother. To clarify when I came to pick up the tailored suit the frumpy potato behind the counter was offended I asked to try it on before taking the garment. Thai is the first time in my life I have bought a suit where the associate did not review the fit with me. I tried to find someone to explain a problem I had with the suit, but it was clear no one who works here is the least bit interested in service. The associate actually asked I was ready "yet." I asked their thoughts on a pocket square and they pointed across the store and said, "You can find them over there." Um, excuse me? The suit was badly wrinkled as if it had been in a dumpster and I asked if I could at least get it steamed. The associate exhaled and said they "guessed" they would see what they could do. They asked again if I was ready to go and I pointed out I had socks and a belt to pay for. After the transaction they offered to put the suit in plastic. And no, they did not ever steam the wrinkles out. They literally never actually faced me, made eye contact tact, or actually engage. If you are the manager of this business here are my suggestions after decades of experience as a customer. 1. Ensure your staff is trained and understands customer service. Your staff is untrained. Both people I dealt with could have easily sold me multiples of what I spent, but because it was clear I was bothering them I didn't spend. 2. Don't have people in the floor who are a dumpster fire. The person I dealt with today looked frumpy and unkempt. They should like they put an effort into their appearance. Also teach the to engage with customers. They present as if they don't care. 3. Train your staff to work through the fitting process. It matters.

After doing some research on my own, I found Chelsea at ReThread Alterations in Newberg, Oregon. I live on the Oregon Coast, so it was quite a drive, but it ended up being one of the best decisions I made during wedding planning. From my very first appointment, Chelsea was incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. She made me feel comfortable right away and took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted to change about my dress. Her bubbly personality instantly put me at ease, while her confidence and expertise reassured me that my dress was in the best hands. Because my wedding was only about a month and a half away from my first fitting, I was a little nervous about the timeline. On top of that, trusting someone to alter such an important and expensive dress is intimidating. Chelsea never made me feel worried. She was organized, confident, and communicated clearly throughout the entire process. At my second fitting, I put my dress on and it fit like an absolute glove. Every alteration was exactly what I had envisioned. It was perfect. I couldn't have been happier with the final result. The alteration costs were more than I initially expected, but after seeing the finished product, I can honestly say it was worth every penny. You're not just paying for alterations--you're paying for years of skill, talent, craftsmanship, and peace of mind. Chelsea's work exceeded my expectations, and I truly believe she earned every dollar. I would wholeheartedly recommend Chelsea to any bride, bridesmaid, or anyone looking for a talented, trustworthy, and experienced seamstress. They didn't have his size in the jacket he wanted so he needed to wait for a special order to the store. He picked it up a few weeks later and came back a second time for tailoring. He said he felt rushed, as the associates working complained about how busy they were, and hurried him through the process. This is his first suit, and he didn't understand how things should properly fit him. They didn't bother to help, just asking "does it fit?" and then moving on. His jacket didn't fit, actually, but he didn't know that, and they didn't look twice at him. He asked for the pants to be hemmed and the seat to be let out. Two weeks later, he picks up his suit. The pants rip immediately down the back, and it's apparent the jacket doesn't fit still. The pants weren't hemmed to the length he asked for either. Back we go to the store for him to explain. He turns over his jacket and pants after the tailor comes to look him and makes some recommendations. My fiancée is a bigger man, but was sold a slim fit suit. In asking to make the seat bigger, the tailor made a body shaming comment about his size and the cut of the suit. Today, we go to pick up the suit again. The jacket fits, but the pants have ripped again, and worse now, just from trying them on. We went back immediately but the tailor had finished early and left already. The associates said to come back in the morning and see if the tailor could squeeze us in. This is Thursday night, and we leave for our wedding Saturday morning. We're both disappointed in the poor treatment he received throughout the tailoring process, as well as the quality of the work done. If we can't get the pants fixed tomorrow he might be wearing an untailored pair off the rack. Hopefully this will be our last visit to the store this lifetime - will not ever be going back.
