Sarena was my stylist during my visit, and she was absolutely wonderful--so kind, attentive, and helpful. I came in thinking I wanted one specific style but ended up falling in love with something completely different. Sarena really took the time to listen to what I was looking for and helped me find the perfect dress. Thanks to her, I found the gown I'll be wearing on my wedding day! The dress I chose was a sample gown, about 40% off the retail price, and it was still in excellent condition. Each gown is stored in a plastic bag with clear labels indicating whether it's a sample, previously worn, or brand new. They have a great selection of high-quality gowns at really reasonable prices! One small note--the layout of the room for general appointments is a bit different from other bridal boutiques I've visited. Depending on where your guests are sitting, they might not have the best view of your dress unless you turn around fully, since the mirror is in the corner. That said, once you've found your dress, they bring you to a larger space with a full-length mirror where everyone can see clearly. It's not a big issue at all, but if you're planning to bring a larger group, I'd recommend booking the boutique! read more

I had a very successful and wonderful experience buying my wedding dress with Blue Sky Bridal. In April 2022 they were in the process of moving locations and offered a sample sale on Sundays in April. We went the second Sunday of the sale and there was a lot of people in line when the doors opened. I am a plus size bride and had no problem finding my dress that day. In fact, I bought two! The sample sale was amazing for my low budget and I am forever grateful that I was able to walk out with two dresses and a vail for $750. And I'm glad I did, because I ended up going with the second dress I purchased. It was a chaotic experience, since it was a sample sale, but it was truly exciting. I had an AMAZING experience at Blue Sky Bridal. The stylists I worked with (Polly & Madison) were incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. The store has a fantastic selection of dresses, and it's easy to find what you're looking for with the store's organization and the pictures/info they provide on each garment bag. I went twice, once with a friend to look at their main selection (fabulous) and once on my own to look at their special 'Clear the Racks' sale. The sale had an awesome selection, and the stylist, Madison, was super helpful and offered to take pictures for me since I was on my own. I ended up finding my dress in the sale section and couldn't be happier! Polly was the stylist who helped me in my first appointment and was also incredibly helpful, welcoming, and kind! Compared to the one other place I went - where I felt like the person was forcing very expensive dresses on me that we're my style - the person who helped me at Blue Sky actually listened to what I was looking for, saw the ones I enjoyed on the racks, and helped me find more in similar but slightly varying styles. Had an awesome experience here shopping for my wedding dress. The sales ladies hyped me up so much and the energy was incredible. Major pros to shopping here: 1. Speed. You walk out with the dress you bought. So if you have a short time frame this is a great solution rather that placing a dress on order waiting weeks for it to arrive and then taking it to the Tailor. 2. Size/fit. I got to actually try on my size dresses. Other places often only have like a 16 or 6 sample size and you can't really see how it would actually fit if your a different size. Actually seeing a dress fit me totally changed the experience. Also the store has sizes ranging from 00-28 to try on. 3. Price, obviously buying a dress here your gonna save a couple hundred right off the bat. Most of the dresses are sample dresses too so they haven't been worn at a wedding actually, just tried on at the store by other brides. 4. Eco- friendly, buying used vs ordering new- always good for the planet! 5.Instagram/online: They have a very active Instagram presence so you can see a lot of the dresses they have in store there or online. Wow, I am so thankful that I stumbled upon this place! My family all lives in Santa Barbara and I chose to go to my dress appointment solo, which honestly I was a little worried about. But Kali, the sweetest person ever, happened to be working and helped me find the perfect dress. She was also just the most supportive friend I could have asked for while looking for a wedding dress. I loved how Blue Sky carries these gorgeous, designer wedding dresses that are more affordable than their original prices, being consignment. I did not feel pressured at all and felt that Kali was so knowledgeable about what alterations I'd need done and their cost range. This boutique has a wonderful selection--and is just beautiful. I had fun looking through all of their gorgeous gowns and trying around five of them on. They are very COVID aware. I was the only bride in the salon for the majority of my Sunday morning appointment, we wore masks the whole time, washed our hands upon arrival, and kept social distance. I felt COVID-safe. After a long day of watching my neice try on wedding dresses at different shops around town, we arrived here. From the moment we walked in, I knew this would be a different experience from the many places we had visited. It felt more intimate and personable. We were sat in a room while my niece picked out different dresses with the aid of the lovely bridal assistant. Once they gathered a hand full of dresses, they returned to the room we were waiting in. My niece tried on the first dress and it was the one. Everyone shed a few tears, including the bridal attendant. She was funny and helpful. Perfect! I was assisted by Hope but every staff member I interacted with was great. Hope was knowledgeable and so supportive. Giving 1 star for the dresses. Beautiful selection (that I saw) but 0/10 for the service. They had a last minute availability for me to come in and I was so appreciative of that. I even made accommodations for my child to go to a sitter. The beautiful, tall, slender gal at the front let us in and quickly informed me that my budget was too low. Not a problem, the budget is adjustable- but her persistence on the fact that I was 2 sizes larger than I actually am was very inappropriate. When I insisted on trying on a dress that was ACTUALLY my size, I had to go back and forth with her THREE TIMES to say that I understood the size was smaller than she thought I was, however I still wanted to try it. She then said, "Okay, well if it doesn't zip up or button I will not force it." Girl, really? I won't lie, I enjoyed the moment she zipped it up with room to spare. I am unsure if it was that we were 7 minutes late (we got the appointment 15 minutes before the start time and had to make it through Portland traffic), my initial low budget suggestion, or perhaps she was just having an off day- but that was an experience that could very seriously hurt feelings of a bride with sensitivity to the subject. I also did not appreciate the rolling eyes and general off putting attitude. I came up to Portland a couple weeks ago and decided to check out Blue Sky Bridal while I was in the midst of my dress hunting. Although I did not end up making a purchase at Blue Sky Bridal, I did have a pleasant experience overall. I would like to give a huge shout-out to Elizabeth Lyons-Best who helped me pick out 5 different styles of dresses in the size 0-2 range to try on during my 1-hour appointment on a busy Saturday. This is quite an impressive selection for an Asian girl like me with a really small frame. Every time I tried on a dress, I had to call for her assistance to clip up the extra fabric to help cinch the waist area and to shorten the straps so I could visualize how the dress would look on me if it's well-fitted. I knew it was a lot of work and I really appreciated her assistance throughout this process. Even though masks are no longer required for fully vaccinated individuals at the time of my visit (on 7/24/21), all staff members kept their masks on and that was very reassuring to me. I appreciate their sense of professionalism to help make this a safe experience for all guests. read more

As soon as you walk in, there's a musky moldy smell. They separate the dresses by sizes and they expect you to look through them. I spent some time telling them what I was looking for, but the stylist did not pick out any recommendations for me. I highly recommend scheduling a Book the Boutique appointment, especially for your first dress search experience. I tried on dresses of various designs and styles. The shop has a wide selection of dresses, all of them felt very nice to touch and try on. The stylists were so friendly and helpful. They definitely helped ease my anxiety of finding the right dress. They catered to me by making suggestions for alterations and styling for each dress I tried on, as I had a particular look I was going for. I booked an appointment on Mon 1/15/2024 and arrived exactly on time. I went with my sister, and last minute she had to bring her kid with her. Upon walking up the steps to the building, my niece in excitement ran up as she couldn't wait to see her auntie try on some bridal dresses. The staff in seeing a kid turned cold and immediately stated rudely that there was a no kid policy. My heart sank as I saw my niece's joy turn into shame. Before I had a minute to gather my surroundings as it was a trek to even get there on time due to the snowy conditions, the masked sales associate behind the counter kept repeating "if you read the policy when you signed the agreement, if you read the policy we clearly state..." and was EXTREMELY uppity and condescending about it. Ok I get it's a policy, we weren't planning on bringing a kid but life happens. They told me to rebook, but the way the staff handled this situation left such a bad taste in my mouth I knew I wouldn't be returning. We ended up going to Anthropologie and got a last minute walk-in appointment with a phenomenal sales associate. They were so welcoming and so good with my niece and even gave her colouring pencils to play with. I tried on 3 dresses and found the one. I spent $1795 on it. In reading this company's super defensive response to negative reviews, many of which are also based on customer service, I feel like it was a blessing in disguise and that I had dodged a bullet by not supporting this business. read more

Tldr: 10/10 highly recommend! Blue Skye brides really DO have more fun! If you are looking for a wedding dress, I really cannot recommend this boutique highly enough. I chose to "rent the boutique" which means I had the entire boutique to myself and my guests for 90 minutes after hours, and dedicated 1:1 attention from their associate, Kali. The entire experience was incredibly fun! Kali lent us a tripod so that my sister could hook up her phone and video call our parents so that they could be part of the experience as well, despite being states away. Kali asked me a few questions about my budget and style preferences and helped me pull some dresses. While I tried them on, she continued to ask for feedback and pull more dresses for me - one of which was the beautiful "this is the one!" dress I took home! After I made my choice, she helped my sister and I celebrate by taking our photo and gifting us a bottle of champagne. This was truly an amazing experience, and one that I couldn't have possibly imagined especially in the middle of a pandemic. While there were a few more rules (such as having to keep the mask on at all times, including when trying on the dresses), it did not at all hamper the fun of trying on the dresses and the beauty of the look. read more

The shop itself is clean and the selection is fine for a twice loved bridal shop. I went as a plus one in the bridal party as the MOH. I cannot express how deeply dissatisfied my party was by the service we received. The lady was a couple minutes late to letting us in, and then immediately ushered us to wash our hands like dirty children. I understand why clean hands are important of course, but the way it was handled felt unprofessional to the entire party. She did not introduce herself, we never got her name. She did not begin our appointment until everyone was seated and only then did she start talking to the bride and by then we were more than 15 minutes into our hour long appointment. She allowed the bride to select five dresses, and then did not assist her in dressing which is completely acceptable, aside from the fact that I did not feel welcome to assist her either. Once we finished trying on that round of dresses I went with her to help select the next round. The bride picked out three dresses before the consultant cut her off in the middle of grabbing a fourth and told her that due to there being about fifteen minutes left "they didn't have time for anymore." Once we tried those on we were practically ushered out the door. Overall I would say skip this shop and go to Brides With a Cause. It was an entirely better experience with better prices as well. I made an appointment day of online, since I was in the area. I didn't come with an entourage and I made a 30 minute appointment for a veil since I already purchased my dress. I showed up 11 minutes early since I didn't want to miss my appointment window. I was welcomed in enough by the group of women in the front. Then one associate took me under her wing. She wasn't particularly warm or friendly and was pretty short with me when veil shopping. She wanted to see my dress so I tried to pull open a picture but didn't have cell service (old building) so I was going to see if a dress in store had the same colors. I could tell she didn't want me to look at any dresses so she whisked me away quickly. I was able to pull up a pic from my phone and she pulled out one veil option based on my dress. We agreed that I would come back once I could bring my dress in to match the ivory veil she showed me but I was just so uncomfortable in the store that I won't be coming back. Her previous appointment had cancelled and it seemed like she got stuck with me so it wasn't a fun experience. She helped me so she gets stars for that. Another group of women walked in as I was leaving and there was gushing and excitement from the staff.
