I've been wanting to write this review for a while especially since I first discovered Sol through Yelp. The review I read said something like Grace is amazing with curly hair. I am delighted to share that this is an understatement. I've been going to Grace for the last one and a half years now. During this time, Grace has cut my hair in a variety of styles each of which highlighted my curls so beautifully that I've gotten the most compliments on my hair of my life. I am so grateful to have found Grace! (Also, I do want to mention that during my visits I've seen the other stylists do such beautiful work on people's hair.) Sol Soon really has the most talented team I've encountered. (And I have tried many salons throughout my life, which is common for a curly-haired person, I believe, haha.) Anyway, to conclude this long review, I feel tempted to share stories of all the compliments I've gotten and how gorgeous I've felt since I started getting my hair cut by Grace--but I think my point is better made by just saying the following. A haircut that perfectly complements one's personal style really does wonders for self-esteem. Before going to Sol I would get my hair cut rarely. Now, with how pretty my hair looks on the day of the cut as well as after, getting a haircut has truly become my favorite self care activity.

The salon is clean, bright, airy, comfortable, and has a laid-back vibe. The music is always great, the staff is extremely friendly, and there are refreshments available. The restrooms are clean and in great condition. I love the plants throughout the salon and the personal touches such as the neon "Be Excellent to Each Other" sign. My hairstylist, Dina, gives me the best cut and color of my life. Every time I leave I know that my hair looks the best it can, and my color is gorgeous. My color also consistently fades out in a way that looks intentional between coloring, and remains vibrant for many weeks. I've never been happier with my hair. I've also seen other stylists for blowouts between visits and every stylist has been great. Karla cut my niece's hair and was wonderful with her. You can book online, and you can text with the receptionist if you have to change your appointment which is great. The only downside is that there's no dedicated parking, which isn't their fault and I've never had a problem. Just be careful if you go on a street sweeping day.

I'd been getting the same high fade for a decade and wanted to try the longer wave thing everyone's doing. The first barber I asked for it butchered it, mostly because he'd never done a long cut in his life. Gianni took one look, diagnosed what was actually going on up there, and got me to a halfway cut. A couple months later, the cut grew in as he planned and he took me from 80 to 100%, right in time for my vow renewal. His profile calls him the brushback king and I couldn't agree more. Fair warning: he's meticulous, so plan on real time in the chair. You get what you pay for! Also book ahead. At least a month, in my experience. Gianni's popular and I've never once seen anyone get off the waitlist. The shop itself is worth the trip on its own. Great furniture, plants everywhere, and a back patio you can sit on if you're early or just want to hang. Vibes and the place is always clean. Their systems are top notch too. Plenty of notice before your appointment, everything organized, they offer you a drink when you sit down, and they use good products from the wash through the styling. The host is always so nice, everyone there is personable, and the music's great. One heads up: no parking lot. Unfortunately the stylist we booked cancelled last min and I was driving around Inglewood to find a spot for my mom to get her hair done, this was the first place that popped up on yelp. We called and they were able to take her!! I was SO HAPPY! My mom hadn't had a weave in about 10 yrs and had been natural- she requested a short full weave which is INSANELY difficult to do.
