Unfortunately this location closed down and yelp, maps, and google say they're still open. Came a few weeks ago and no staff available. Today I was hoping I'd catch someone there but their spot at the food court was completely cleared out. I've been coming to them since they were a food truck. If you like them, this is a good spot to try. The beignets are covered--no drenched-- in powdered sugar and fluffy and pillowy. Not incredibly big. Also, dips are extra--I splurged and got a Nutella, which I don't regret because it felt like it needed it. Made to order coffee and beignets. The beignets come out hot and moist. On the dense side, not the fluffy side. They were very fulfilling. We love dipping the beignets into the coffee. The coffee was surprisingly delicious and we enjoyed that it was made fresh too. The reason why I docked a star is because the cleanliness could be improved. There were receipts, sugar, and other stuff dropped on the pick up counter. There was multiple staff members in this stall, so there should be someone to clean it up. read more

Years ago I would stop by Beignet Box when it was just a food truck rolling around LA so when I saw that they were installing a physical location into the Topanga Social, I was so excited. And I'm happy that the beignets are just as fresh and tasty as I remember. It's really a unique sweet fried treat you can't find at a lot of places in Los Angeles. Always order the regular beignets. The 'bites' are a nice idea, but they just don't taste the same. They're more crispy because they cook faster. 2 or so 'bites' equals one regular sized. I will say, however, because this is located in the Topanga Social, it has a bit of an increased price. It's a treat both in a taste & price if you ask me. It's not expensive, but $8 for 3 beignets is a bit steep in my opinion. However, knowing that every order is made fresh does help soften the financial blow. Another thing to keep in mind is that while most stalls in the Social have you order via any of the tablets around the area, Beignet Box requires you to order at their stand. I'm not sure the logic for that, but if you were hoping to order from a few different businesses, this one will have to be done in person & not part of a larger order on the screens. Employees here are fine. They're not overly friendly, but they will greet you and do their best to get your order in and cooked as quickly as possible. Expect maybe a few minutes from when you order to when you get your order. In all, Beignet Box continues to be a nice sweet treat for me. I'm so glad I don't need to wait for their truck to be somewhere near me. I appreciate that any time I am at my favorite local mall I can stop by for some hot fried dough covered in delicious powdered sugar. read more

Nope. Don't do it. I stopped by for a sweet treat while waiting for a friend to arrive and ordered the beignet bites and a lemonade. The lemonade wasn't even filled to the top- it was filled up like 3/4 of the way. If you ran out of lemonade just say that lol. The beignets are not great. The beignets were a pleasant surprise. They came out nice and warm without being burning hot, with a light crisp on the outside and a soft inside. The sweetness was just right and the powdered sugar was well balanced. If you need a point of reference, I'd compare them to the ones at Disneyland, but honestly a bit better in terms of texture and sweetness. I've had better in New Orleans, of course, but these were still pretty good overall and worth recommending. They came out quickly, which was great with kids and the whole family enjoyed them. I paired mine with a cup of coffee from a different spot, and it worked perfectly. The ambiance helps too: it's in Topanga Social, which is a slightly more upscale food court in the mall, so you get a nicer environment than a typical food court while you snack. This store used to be on Ventura Blvd and then moved to inside Topanga Village and now it's in Topanga Social inside Westfield Topanga Mall. The store is a little smaller compared to before but maybe that was the goal. We stopped by here today to get some dessert after eating at a restrauant nearby in the mall. They did not have a line here so we were able to put in our order right away. We just got boxes of Beignet and it didn't take long to come out. I visited this location for the first time couple of weeks ago and I ordered the three count beignets. I told the guy I was from NOLA and that I know a good beignet his sarcastic response was "and I'm from Africa.) I didn't respond to him but to myself thought that was rude. Anyway, I left with my order and headed out to my car but before reaching my car I decided to take a bite of one and boy was I disappointed! First of all the beignet was undercooked, it was not hot, hot like it had just come out of the grease AND it had an old grease taste to it which is disgusting and disappointing all by itself. I immediately went back in to let them know of my disgruntlement and to request a refund. I explained to the guy the issues and he took offense saying he had just fried it. I didn't see him put it in the oil. Immediately after paying I saw him sifting the powdered sugar that's it. I had even inquired when he was handing me my order. I also told him of the old grease taste yet he didn't say anything. I told the young lady at the register I wanted a refund and he said we can't give you a refund. I asked why? I wasn't satisfied with the answer given so I asked who at Topanga Social can I speak to, to help facilitate my refund and it was shortly after that I was told the manager can. Luckily for me the young lady spotted him he was just walking up back from a break and he initiated the refund. Boy oh Boy what a bad experience! Mind you about a year ago I had visited their former location at The Village and was very pleased with what I received and I even bought some for the housekeeping lady who works at the Village and she too enjoyed them. Would I go back to this location NO! For your customers experiencing beignets for the first time it should be a great experience and NEVER should they be served what I was served. I'm pretty sure the owner would want every customer to experience the authentic deliciousness of a NOLA beignet. read more
