The cronet and the beignets are both really good, but I prefer the cronet. Get the chocolate and raspberry sauce and ask for light powdered sugar. Don't get the chai latte, it was horrible! The cronet was good enough to make up for it. read more

Thank the Lord that we have amazing beignets in Michigan and that this is a food truck and not an established shop anywhere near me. Beignets 2 Go offers beignets that rival Cafe du Monde with added creative twists that represent Detroit and the foodie culture. The beignets are puffy, light yet rich treats offered hot and fast. The owners have perfected the beignets light texture and rich, sugary sweetness that seems almost impossible. However, don't let the lure of the beignet steer you away from the the cronet (a deep fried, beignet style croissant). The first bite literally melted in my mouth. The flakiness of the croissant mixed with the beignet preparation is entirely too much to explain. It is like a pillow... at first bite it is flaky and fluffy but as you bit in, there is a moist density creating the perfect balance. For some it may be too sweet but that texture experience is definitely worth it. My only tip is to improve on the chicory coffee. The only thing better than a heavenly dessert is a perfectly paired coffee to bring me back to reality yet Beignets 2 Go coffee seemed just so-so. This is probably best since I needed a reminder that I wasn't transported to another heavenly dimension. read more

The beignets were a great surprise on a saturday morning at eastern market! The beignets were crispy on the outside and warm soft pillowy goodness on the inside. We chose the bacon variety. I'm a lover of sweets so imagine my delight when I heard there was a great food truck dishing up beignets in the metro area. I just missed it one day on the WSU campus. Finally, I grew tired of waiting so I headed to Eastern Market to get me some delicious fried dough. After waiting in the long line, I bit into the pillowy mound, anticipating the crisp exterior and the airy, chewy interior. I was disappointed. The inside was much more dense and chewy than a proper beignet and I believed the excessive amount of powdered sugar was an attempt to compensate for an otherwise mediocre dough. These are probably good to those who aren't very familiar with authentic beignets, but for those who are, caveat emptor. read more

Got the bacon beignets from this food truck when it was at Eastern Market and YUMMMM! We received 4 medium sized balls of fried, doughy goodness sprinkled with a generous portion of bacon crumbles and powdered sugar. I thought it was a bit steep at $7 but we definitely did not regret the purchase! Beware of the lines though, they get a bit confusing! read more

I tried the traditional begets and the raspberry/chocolate cornet. Both were delicious. A bit of a wait, but I would gladly wait for the freshly made beignets any day. Even in the rain. Food was fine... But I will never support this food truck after the horrible customer service. I ordered the raspberry and chocolate beignets and all I wanted was a fork. When my significant other went to ask for a plastic fork they literally wouldn't give him one saying they only give them out if you order bacon on it. We had to ask three times untill finally they gave us a fork. I payed 6 dollars for fried dough and powdered sugar and they wouldn't give me a 10 cent fork?!?! The young man at the window was very rude and started talking about culturally you don't use a fork. I wanted to cut them up to share and there was nowhere to sit so yes I needed a freaking fork. The last time when I had such good beignets was when I visited New Orlean's Cafe Du Monde. The beignets taste so soft/fresh that melted in my mouth. Right amount of sugar powder were sprinkle on my beignets to make it just right. 4 traditional Beignets for $4. reasonable price. On paçzki day this year, I got up early to wait in the line at New Palace to get a couple dozen fried dough balls for my co-workers. It was around 8, and the line was already wrapped around the corner. Half a block away, was the beignet truck. I had seen this truck parked near my house, but never open for business. No line. I had just enough cash to get a couple "beignet-skis" their traditional doughnut topped with warm raspberry jam. SO GOOD. We went to New Orleans 2 months ago and we had our beignets and au lait and their beignets are squares in shapes and taste a little bit like sweet cream cheese danish, these beignets are donut like packzis and not as sweet as new orleans' beignets.
