    Round 1

I haven't been to a Chinese buffet in at least 10-15 years. My family does not like them, so when I had the chance to go by myself, I chose Beijing Gourmet. I arrived promptly at opening (11 am) to get first crack at hot, fresh variety of food. I was not disappointed. There are three bars of hot food, a long bar of desserts and sauces, a Mongolian grill bar and sushi bar, all included, the service was great, I never came back to the table to old food plates, and they kept my drink full. I paid $15.93 + tip for the buffet and drink which is an excellent deal in my opinion. The decor and feel are pretty traditional Chinese restaurant ambiance. My favorites were the dim sum, sushi, dumplings, and broccoli beef. Now that I know it includes Mongolian grill, I may be able to convince my husband to come next time!

My husband and I ate here a few months ago and didn't like the food much. I think last time we got there a little late, so the food might have sat out too long. This time, I came at 12 noon and without Dan who never liked Chinese buffets. I thought I might like it better without his influence. I did like it a little better, but not a lot. 2 1/2 stars would be more accurate. This time the soups were good. I tried a little bit of both the hot and sour and egg drop. The egg rolls and cream cheese won tons were better, but they didn't make it all the way up to good. I think maybe they had been out too long. Egg rolls and cream cheese wontons are my favorite part of Chinese buffets. I liked the hot mustard which I used to dip the egg roll in. The dishes with breaded chicken just did not work out. There was way too much breading and with some dishes, it was cooked so hard it was difficult to eat without a knife. A knife would have been useful for a number of dishes. The fried chicken strips and fried wings were greasy. They were both fried hard but there was still grease. Most of the food lacked flavor, had too much grease, and was cooked so hard it was difficult to eat. The ambiance and service were good. The food was better than my previous visit. I have hope it can become good. They're almost there. Perhaps if they didn't bring out so much food at a time, it would be stay fresh. The food I liked were the soups, steamed rice, rice noodles, vegetables in the stir fries, mushroom dishes, orange slices, and a very opaque orange jello. I was surprised I liked that jello dish so much because I'm not a jello fan. This was so opaque that I was curious. I don't know what was in it besides orange juice, but it was delicious and refreshing. Better but not there, yet.

Love it here!! We're always happy with our fast seating!! Service is quick and friendly. There's a lot to choose from and it's hot and fresh. They have a create your own Mongolian Grill and options to build are fantastic!! There's a family feel here no matter where you're seated. The atmosphere is very comfortable and we enjoy coming here!!

Pretty decent Chinese buffet spot featuring a Mongolian BBQ/noodle station and sushi. Most of their selections are quite good. One gripe is that I didn't see or couldn't find an ice cream / soft serve location. Standard Chinese buffet interior. Service was excellent however, and I got constant drink refills without having to ask. Definitely recommended!

I decided to try this for lunch. The food was good. They have some selections the other buffets do not have like dim sum, Mongolian Grill which I liked. now the service was something terrible the waitress. I don't even know who my person was I never saw her? I had to flag someone down to get a water and a straw, but the biggest issue I had was when I made my bowl and took it to the Mongolian grill. There was no one around. I waited and waited and the guy wasn't there. Finally he comes out from the back and then he tells me you had to put your bowl here, well there was no sign no information and guess what he wasn't there, so how was I supposed to know. Then as I'm eating my other food I look up at several people I'm trying to do the Mongolian grill but every time the guy is not there every time he makes something and he disappears into the back. what he's doing in the back I don't know, but he never stayed out there and multiple people would be looking around like what do I do? This is just unacceptable. The Buffet food was nothing exciting but everything was good I don't know if I would go back there are other buffets in town especially the one in Bixby that are just on a different level.

One of the better buffet options and they have a Mongolian BBQ option that's included with the price.

A buffet so you have to get the food when it's fresh. They have several types of seafood. Good value for the money.

You can get all the common dishes here but you can also get some unusual dishes that are very authentic. My grandson once ordered jelly fish. You can't get that at very many local restaurants. Another thing I like is that they have a couple of large round tables with lazy Susans. Our extended family sat at one of those tables once. It was fun putting the things we wanted to share on the lazy Susan and being able to spin it around and try what we wanted. It made for fun conversation talking about the different dishes. That was when our grandson ordered jellyfish. The restaurant is fairly small but the large tables make the restaurant good for groups. I think this would be an excellent place for a Yelp event. They have a lunch menu but you have to ask for it. It includes some of the popular Asian dishes for $9:95. They have smaller portions that come with a choice of soup or egg roll. Danny and I asked to see the lunch menu, but decided to order off the main menu. We split Crispy Tofu with garlic sauce and egg rolls. I liked the presentation of the egg rolls. They were cut diagonally and arranged nicely on the plate. The tofu dish was quite tasty. Next time, I plan to get Mei Fun. I have had it here before and loved the variety of flavors. The service wasn't terrible but it wasn't wonderful. We got our food in a timely manner, but we felt rushed to order and she didn't check to see if we needed anything or refill our water glasses. Service here has been excellent in the past. I am glad we came back to Chengdu and were reminded of how much we like it. We will be back soon.

We had a small group and were able to get a table right away. Our table had a lazy susan in the center which is great for groups. The service was efficient and our food came out quickly. Our waitress did check on us periodically and did refill drinks. The portion size of the food was good and a little salty. I enjoyed the green beans but they had a little bit of a lemony flavor that had a weird after taste. I think the Kung Pao could have used a little more heat. The price for the food was decent.

When I moved out of Tulsa in 2015, I made sure to eat there every single time I visited town (which is at least once a year). Unfortunately, on my last recent visit, the food had sharply declined in quality. Others had told me it had declined the last year or so, but obviously I had to try it myself. They clearly changed the lo mein recipe A LOT. It used to be my favorite lo mein on the planet, now it's so painfully average you could get the same lo mein anywhere else. The vegetables and tofu also weren't as flavorful, not was the kung pao chicken. The sesame chicken was still pretty good, as were the egg rolls. I'm BEGGING you all to please bring back the old lo mein recipe and go back to what you were doing before. There's a reason you survived in that cursed strip mall for so long while so many other businesses failed. Your old recipes competed with Flushing Queens (NYC, best Chinatown in the country) and now your food is average.
