Best little donut stand at Reading Terminal Market! It might actually be the only one... but alas that is because they shut everyone else down. There is a huge selection, from staples like Boston Cream and Jelly etc. to fun and innovative flavors like Salted Caramel and Maple Bacon. We grabbed a half dozen and ate them over a period of three days. They are super light and crisp fried cakes and tasted so very fresh. There was a bit of line to wait, but the whole place was rockin' on the Saturday that we had visited. The staff was nice, and patient while we asked a couple questions and made our selection. Don't even hesitate to give this place a try!
I love me some delicious donuts. I ordered a half dozen donuts for $10.75. What a great idea this was. I have no idea what all I ordered, but I got 3 classic ones that you can get mostly anywhere, and then I got 3 wild ones at the choice of the worker there helping me out. I have to say, I really just prefer classic chocolate icing, or caramel icing regular donuts. The crazy ones with all the toppings and fillings are just weird to me. Krispy Kreme remains as always the GOAT of all donut shops, but I do like trying new spots. Certainly worth stopping by if you're craving a donut.
A classic spot in Reading Terminal Market, this is an Amish bakery that is known for their donuts. I got the bacon maple donut and wow, this is not just an ordinary donut. This is a delicious, soft, cream filled donut shaped like a regular donut, so it was quite a nice surprise when I took my first bite. It was so sweet but also so addicting that I had to really stop myself from eating it so I could enjoy it in another sitting (in hindsight, I should have ordered 2 donuts). It was great value - about $2 for a donut, so this is a worthwhile visit whether for breakfast or a dessert.

As an Allergy Friendly Foodie, I can't indulge the way I used to due to my dietary restrictions, but that doesn't stop me from recognizing a great spot like Beiler's. This donut shop inside Reading Terminal Market is iconic for a reason. The quality, freshness, and consistency are exactly what you hope for when you're treating yourself or someone else. Even though I can't enjoy them personally anymore, I still make it a point to stop in and pick them up for my son--and every time, they deliver. I also love that they think beyond just people--offering doggy donuts is such a thoughtful touch. For anyone without dietary restrictions, this is absolutely a must-visit. It's one of those classic places that represents what Reading Terminal Market is all about: tradition, quality, and that special treat you remember. Even if you can't eat them, it's still a place worth supporting--and sharing the joy with someone else.
Pretty solid! Tried a plain glaze and it was very soft and airy and the line moved quickly. Seems like they may be known for bacon donut?
Food: Some of the worst doughnuts I've ever tried. Don't waste your money and calories on this spot. Federal Donuts or even Dunkin Donuts is better than this place. Service: Staff weren't that friendly and welcoming. Ambiance: This is a food stand located in Reading Terminal Market. The place seemed popular with a constant long line, but I was highly disappointed. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place and won't be returning.
Beiler's is amazing. A lot of different options for donuts. I got the peanut butter crème and peanut butter chocolate, both were to die for. The crème was smooth and fluffy, went well with the soft dough of the pastry. Service was fast. The queue moved at a fair pace and it was worth the wait. It's busy and loud inside Reading Terminal Market but that adds to the fast pace vibe of Beiler's.
These are said to be Philadelphia's most famous donuts! This is an Amish bakery that insists on making products by hand daily. Maple Bacon: Sounds intimidating, but it's the staff's top recommendation. The bacon was diced and just a small topping, not very prominent; the main ingredient was maple cream, rich and smooth, not too sweet, but very fragrant and flavorful. Glazed: A simple, classic donut, just syrup drizzled on top. Personally, I found it rather ordinary. Make sure to go early! They open at 8 am, and shortly after 9 they were almost sold out.
Ordered: Strawberry Creme Donut (~$2): filled with a homemade crème made with strawberry and drizzled with white icing Blueberry Fritter (~$2): donut with blueberries & cinnamon folded in and covered with glaze Aya's take: It seems like I can't come to Philly without checking out Reading Terminal Market, let alone Beiler's Bakery. We got the Strawberry Creme Donut & Blueberry Fritter. The Strawberry Creme Donut was sweet, soft, and filled with strawberry creme. The strawberry flavor was too subtle which seems to be a common occurrence with their filled donuts. The Blueberry Fritter was more cake-like, hard exterior and soft interior, and you can actually taste the blueberry. Decent but again, I expected more!
6/10 on these. Sorry Philadelphia. Stan's and Do-Rite in Chicago still get the prize My order: Assorted Doughnuts filled and frosted. The cake style: Missing? The crunchy exterior and tender interior that occurs when donuts are deep fried properly with minimal quality ingredients. These were a bit sad; flat on height and flavor. 5/10 Raised: These had the texture of Dunkin' Missing the lift- flat as if filled too soon after frying. And I believe they were rolled too thin. I wanted to love them, especially since I believe that they are hand cut. I'm so sorry Philadelphia. The price was affordable at $29.75/ dozen but I would rather pay a bit more for quality fillings. Fritters- great cinnamon flavor but absolutely no fruit in sight.
The pastries are fresh and delicious. I got the chai latte which was very amazing. Great ambiance. Great customer service. Highly recommend.
Yelp Review 2025 #232: Located inside Reading Terminal Market, Beiler's Bakery serves some of the best doughnuts in Philly. They are family-owned and they still handmake their doughnuts fresh at each location they have. I came here in the afternoon. Some of their doughnuts were already sold out. Nutella Creme: I've had Nutella doughnuts that doesn't taste much like Nutella because people add on other ingredients. Beiler's doesn't do that. The filling is thick and rich Nutella. The doughnut is soft and fluffy. 5/5 Harvest Apple: I really wanted an Apple fritter but they were sold out. This was the next bed thing. It has real apple and a nice filling. 4/5 Pumpkin: Since I came here in the fall, I had to try their pumpkin doughnut. However, it's not for me. 3/5 Service was quick, nothing remarkable. You grab and pay for your doughnuts and find somewhere to sit so you can enjoy them. The whole market is casual.
What do you do when you have some time between meetings and a hankering for a pastry? You try Beiler's for the first time. I didn't go for a doughnut though I very much look forward to getting into one of those super soon. I strolled up to the literal sea of muffins and knew I had found what I was looking for. Me: "what muffin is the best muffin?" Team member: "Oh, butter rum." Me: "sold." And she was 100% CORRECT! This was a life changing muffin - super soft and crumbly in the best way. One of those take a bite, say "oh my god" audibly, look around, then nod kind of moments in life. Great prices, easy to order, and a TON of great options if you're looking for sweets to bring to a gathering or something special for your home. I cannot wait to return frequently and this will always be a stop for me when in reading terminal. read more
5/5 delicious donuts! They have so many flavors to choose from, too! I especially loved the vanilla sprinkle, the glazed and the apple fritter. The texture was fluffy. The icing ratio was perfect. We split a box of 6 donuts amongst 5 people. The stand is in Reading Terminal, and make note that they are not open Sundays. You will wait in a line, but it moves quickly. It seems like they are always busy. I recommend that you try these donuts. I wish I had bought more! read more
There are actually a few different sides to Beiler's at Reading Terminal Market. I visited the bakery and the donut areas. They are really well-stocked full of delicious-looking baked goods such as pastries, breads, donuts, cookies, scones, and pies. Tons of variety in flavor and sizes, and it's consistently busy. Service is super quick though - definitely worth checking out! read more
I was in town for a convention and EVERYONE had one of these donuts! So I finally found them and got two glazed donuts of my own. DELICIOUS! They reminded me of a small cake donut, but none the less I loved it! I'm so happy I was able to try this place. Disclaimer: they always have a line but it moves fast! These donuts were fantastic. Got 4 donuts for my road trip home and they did not disappoint. Key lime, Coconut, Caramel Apple and an Apple Cider. I haven't been to The Terminal in 10 years and Beiler's didn't disappoint!! Very yummy read more

Beliers pretty much never dissapoints. Donuts always fresh. Only problem is thinking you know what you want and then when you get to the front of the line realize you don't have any idea how overwhelming the selection becomes. Can't recall each one that I had this time around but all were great except the apple caramel which may have just been a taste preference. Overall great place. $10 for a 1/2 dozen wasn't bad for the quality. Line is usually wrapped around the corner but we caught it when it slowed down just a pace. read more

I only stopped by for a couple of donuts, but was pleasantly surprised. The first one was a banana cream donut, which I think was a yeast donut (it wasn't cake anyway). I'm usually not a huge fan of that type, but this was really good and absolutely stuffed with the cream. The other donut I had was the pumpkin cake. Also very good. I really don't know how else to describe this except that they are noticeably different than what you'd get at most bakeries. I'm just assuming from it being in the Amish section that they don't do shortcuts of using premade mixes, at least it didn't seem that way. Either way, good stuff. Totally worth a visit read more

Beiler's Bakery located at Reading Terminal Market is a must go to if you're a donut lover and in Philly. I wish I could try all 30 of their donuts but the first donut that I tried got me addicted to for every day that I was in Philly. The salty caramel donut is a yeast donut with cream centered filling with a caramel layer of paint on top and sprinkled with salt freckles is my version of crack. Boom!! Apple fritter, caramel apple, Boston creme, dream creme, key lime, Nutella creme are also a few that looked good. Donuts here are a bargain for $1.75 each! read more

What an AWSOME bakery In Philly!! At the terminal indoor market. I have made several trips to Philly just to go to the market and I have had a whole day of strolling each vendor ! It's a hustle and a bussel but a great afternoon. Just like most places you have your favorites and Beiler's is mine. Long lineup for this shop. You get to see that they deep fry their doughnuts on the spot further raising my expectations. Lots of flavors to choose from, got sourdough and an apple fritter. Both were a bit too dry for my liking. The sourdough was not as buttery as I'd like. Fritter was better, but it the inside was not as moist as I'd like. read more

These donuts slap. At first I thought the donut was a bit too doughy but then I ate the entire thing and I was sad it was gone. I tried a chocolate frosted and an Apple fritter and both were superb. read more
Beilers is a must visit! I visited them at the reading Terminal market and they had a line wrapped around their booth. The line does move fairly fast so dont let that deter you. They make delicious doughnuts and they always come out fresh. I got their glazed, old fashioned, and apple fritter. Apple fritter was my favorite! Very delicious and stuffed with an applesauce substance. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their doughnuts they all look very delicious! read more
Some of the best donuts I have ever tasted they are so soft and fresh you can taste the fresh ingredients and they even had a doggie donut that my picky chihuahua actually loved!!! Can't wait to get back here to try some new flavors. read more
This was recommended as THE donut spot to visit at Terminal Reading Market. So many choices here as far as donuts go. While you wait on the long line that moves pretty quickly, you can see the bakers making the donuts and all of the various toppings and fillings they offer. I have never seen a variety on that scale. Pros: -Great prices, especially for a place that has so many fun flavors -Solid chocolate glazed yeast donut -Signing up for the email list will snag you a free donut! Cons: -Donut dough was slightly old tasting (still good, just not fresh) and sadly no Boston Cream left around near closing time (5-6pm) on a Friday. I love donuts and these were one of the best I've had. I love the sugar crusting off as you take a bite and the cdrama and frosting used must all be wiped to an air light consistency. Even the frosting tasted like a soft mousse. Though you would expect a don't with that much sugar to be overly sweet, they weren't. Tasted like an upgraded KK donut that was softer, lighter, and not as sweet. I tried the fruity pebbles, sportiness, key lime, make bacon, and apple diet. They were all delicious. This is a must try when in Philly... the line alone tells you how good the donuts are... there's literally a line from open to close! We got donuts everyday we were visiting. read more
Definitely one of my favorite places to grab doughnuts! The line is always super long on weekends since this place is so popular but don't be discouraged - the line moves quickly. Weekdays are a bit better. I like the salty caramel, oreo, Boston cream, apple/blueberry fritters, and blueberry cake doughnuts best but honestly, they're all good! This place is hit or miss but the hits are WORTH IT! I got a good variety to see how it is and the quality and flavor is wide ranging from delicious perfection to blehhhhh. Hits are the maple bacon, the original glaze and the strawberry filled donuts. Skip the French cruller which was so dry it felt like a totally different bakery made it and the similarly dry blueberry. The Boston cream donut was good but just okay. read more

Wow. I'm currently eating a smashedass coconut cake slice at 1243am that's as large as my head. Got it at like 3pm for the $3 deal they had (for old cakes that didn't sell before?) And it's amazing. It's not overly sweet, the frosting isn't like sugar, and it's incredibly moist. just enough coconut flavor! This is such a find. I'm going back and buying like ten slices for the plane ride home. SOOO much variety: chocolate cakes, peach cakes, cheesecake, bread, pies.. and then when they don't sell past a certain time, there's a major discount. Thank you for existing. We got here about 10 am Saturday morning and the line wasn't bad and moved quickly. There was a great selection of donuts. The cake (pumpkin, apple fritter, etc) were delicious. The Nutella was also really good. I do feel like the other traditional styles fell kind of flat. Definitely a must do @ Reading Market. read more

Um if you have a budget please stay away from This place. I wanted some of everything. I had apple pie, Cinnamon rolls, apple dumplings as well. Everything was AMAZING! I'll for sure make sure i stop pass here every time I'm in reading terminal from now on. read more
this place is a must visit when visiting philly. we came here twice in two days and i'm not even a fan of yeast donuts... but the salty caramel donut here is the best yeast donut i've had and one of the best donuts i've had period. they need to sell that salty caramel topping by a jar, it's addictive. we also had the lemon cream donut and the apple fritter, and both were delicious, but the salty caramel is the must have. the donuts were also inexpensive and the people were quick and efficient. if you sign up for their newsletter on their site you also get a free donut! read more

Do they have gluten free options?
Not that I've seen on the donut side, but they do have gf treats on the other side (where the cakes, cookies, pies, breads, etc are). The gf options are closer to the door, where they make the cinnamon rolls.
Do they make banana pudding?

We went around the same time that you're saying and I thought the same thing. However when we got there the line was massive and they were still pumping out more Donuts fresh right out of the oven.
