We were headed to a show at BACCA down the block and did a google search for a local restaurant. Knowing nothing about this spot, we made a reservation and took a chance. Wow were we glad we did! Great food and a great vibe at this Irish pub. I've had some of their burgers, shepherds, pie, the adult grilled cheese. All very good. My only recommendation would be additional specials or seasonal menus. Just so that there are more options. You know the place is legit when the owner walks around and asks how your meal was -- which I think my plate that I had licked clean was a good indicator that I liked the food! read more

Fun Fun fun. Curtis the dancing waiter was just attentive enough. The baked clams were as good as they get. My wifes stuffed flounder was fresh and delicious. My prime rib grilled cheese didnt have enough cheese and was too salty but had perfect french fries and the black and tans were great. Rich nutella cheesecake topped it off. A solid 3 stars but the fact that it signifies Wellwood aves resurgence got them the bumap. Get drunk and eat great food at Belfast. Went the other day for lunch, I believe they just opened a few days ago. Some work going on inside but they tried to keep it low. Took a minute to locate the hostess, everyone seemed nice and friendly. Place is clean with very nice decor. We sat at a table but the bar looks very inviting. Decent prices, sandwich was good, fries were very plain and not warm when they reached the table. Waitress was friendly but needs to learn what a half and half is, and a Black and Tan. I'll be back at some point, it's got to be tough for them the first few weeks. A good addition to Lindenhurst, good luck. read more

The food was ok but my wife and I were taking 1/2 our meals home for our daughters when one of the servers spilled our full beer all over our food , then they asked if I still wanted to wrap it up and take it home soaked with beer ,at that point I said just throw it out ,we had to them order food for our daughters with no breaks in price after they just ruined our meals (2) ,I tried to take care of this issue privately just to be told by the manager that they would be more careful next time to which I replied there won't be a next time ,the person said they would speak to management which was more then a week ago ,I took that as they really don't care , I messaged them March 9th with no response after the original response, everyone i talked to about this couldn't believe it ,they didn't even offer to replace the full beer they spilled ,I didn't want to post this seeing how it's a new business but after getting no response and brushed aside they left me no choice read more

This Sunday we decided to checkout the new Belfast pub in the town of Lindenhurst . The staff & manager were friendly & pleasant. We sat outside in their dining area which was so nice,cozy & warm. The food was pub style & good if you like pub food. The drinks were good too. The only thing we had a gripe about was they charge for extra refills for soda at $3. a glass which we weren't aware of til we got our bill. The glasses were so small & mostly ice! Our other gripe was when we paid cash to avoid the credit card fee the waitress returned with our change bills only! Where was our change? It just the point. I mean if they are doing a fundraising with all the coins they collect we should be aware of that not to round off to just bills. What's the sense of paying cash if they are keeping your coins ! My return to Belfast for a second chance proved interesting. This time a chance to sit for dinner. I was surprised to be seated in the extended covered enclosed out door area during a chilly rainy evening. Though 2 heaters are turned on it wasn't enough to warm the area. One couple moved their table against the heater just to warm up. The food was very good. Classic Bavarian pretzel oversized with not enough dipping sauce available though. I had the vegetable sandwich on a toasted garlic bread that was very good! My guest the Shepherds pie. Her comment "good but the peas seemed still frozen as if just poured out of the frozen bag". The interesting part is dobro the downpouring rain we noticed a back exit leading to the parking lot. We asked our server if we could exit that way and she declined. Luckily a very nice gentleman (maybe the owner) walked through and we asked him and he agreed we could be spared the freezing rain by exiting through the forbidden door. Being in extremely 'pedestrian' Lindenhurst, the wife & I figured-eh, another run of the mill Lindenhurst establishment. Wow...were we mistaken. Waiting at the bar for a seating, the service was wonderful. The bartender was right on the money if/when a refill was required. We then were seated and the waiter was clear, concise, and friendly. We did not wait long for the dinner, and that's where it gets better. I had a braised short rib that , was exquisite. Last one that even compared to this one was @ a dinner party @ Bartletts Farm on Nantucket in 2011! One of the partners -Bob, came to chat with us...nice gentleman, and we expressed our complete surprise at the overall experience and tenor of his operation. This is a newer spot in town and my wife and I wanted to take the kids to have dinner. The food was absolutely delicious we had the potato soup for an app. For the main course we had the big bubba (chicken) and the smoking molly (pastrami) sandwiches both of them are so so so good..... however the only reason I wouldn't give this place 5 stars at the moment is the service although good it was a tad slower then I would have liked.. We wanted to like it but it was a big miss. Two burgers, two burned buns. Horrible charcoal taste. Meat was weird. Not a good blend. Fries were so salty we couldn't even enjoy them. Ordered the pretzel, which we thought came with cheese?? ... it did not. That's a very expensive plain pretzel. Not sure if it was just too busy but it's probably a one and done for us. read more

I called last Friday to try to make a reservation for 2 people for Saturday because the previous weekend it seems so packed. I was told that they don't take reservations but for 2 people it would be no problem, with maybe a 20 - 30 minute wait. We went on Saturday and were told the wait was an hour and a half. They said they couldn't take reservations, which of course they certainly can; they simply decided not to do so. In any event, I should never have been told a 20-30 minute wait. Stopped here for a quick bite to eat after a long day. Had heard so many great reviews from a lot of people, so we cancelled our reservation at our favorite steakhouse to try here since it was local and we were exhausted. We were originally sat in the catering room area but there was a large, very loud party. It didn't bother us too much, but the waiter offered to move us to a high top in the bar area so we went for it. Our waitress came over to get us drinks right away, and another waitress had to interrupt her for assistance with something. They were both so apologetic and kind about it, so it didn't bother us one bit. She returned shortly again to get our food order and when we asked for her personal preference she was quick with her response and it was clear she was being honest, and her recommendations were GREAT! The DJ started shortly after we were sat so it was a little loud, but in all fairness we sat down at 9pm on a Friday so that's to be expected and the music selection was awesome. You could see that the patrons were really enjoying themselves. The kicker for me was the staff though, they were having a BLAST and I loved every second of watching them do their job, interact with patrons and co workers all while dancing and signing as they went from table to table. Having worked in the bar restaurant industry for many years, it was such a pleasure to see the enthusiasm the employees have, which makes it apparent this is a great establishment to work at. They all had smiles on their faces and made the entire meal fun and exciting. The food was really good. I always over order and ALWAYS end up full after apps. This was the case here as usual but I was actually disappointed because my entree was delicious and I literally could only take a few bites before I would have exploded. We got the sampler for apps so we could try a little bit of everything, and everything was really good. I got the chicken sandwich which was so good I took my leftovers home which I never do. And my fiancé got the Ruben which he enjoyed a lot as well. Guinness was crisp and refreshing. The establishment itself was really nice and I absolutely love what they did to the place, and I love the really cute outside tented area. Only (slightly) negative thing I could possibly say was that it did get a little hot. But I think that's because they had the doors open to the tent area and any A/C was probably going right out. They did have fans which definitely helped. And plus when I drink beer, I tend to overheat so I could have very well just been me. Overall it was awesome and we will definitely be back and I think this is a AWESOME addition to the up and coming Lindenhurst village !!! read more

Today we had a gathering of 18 people for a retirement party and everyone that attended raved about the food, the atmosphere, and the service!!!! The staff and servers were so attentive and the food was delicious. I cannot say enough good things about this place. They went above and beyond for our engagement and we are all beyond grateful. Had heard good things, was just surprised to see that most of their seating was outdoors on the street next to a very loud train that went by several times during our meal. Our server was completely indifferent. Could really care less about our experience at all. My son got the chicken sandwich which he enjoyed, muscles were just OK. Dessert for $10 was minuscule for sharing we each gotten maybe two bites of cheesecake. On to the bigger factor, I noticed that every staff member was in a mask. I asked the service staff whether they had to wear a mask being vaccinated, They said regardless of their vaccination status they had to wear a mask. Although I saw the owner of the restaurant walking around touching tables and having conversations with customers with absolutely no mask on! I asked our server if that frustrates her and she said to me "you have no idea". Explained her in difference when serving us. Not sure that I'll be back to give them my money again. I would definitely do not recommend. Waitress was amazing tipped her extra. They extra tax you, if you use a credit card and that was not explained (they should have waitress tell you right off the bat so instead of 8.65% you pay additional 3.5 % , the rules for happy hour discounts are not explained and should be said when waitress sits you but they don't!! She told us we couldnt get them because we were seated outside, 4 ft from where we could get the happy hour discounts, And -other tables were blown away as well when we questioned it. We were told you dont get the Happy hour discount if the appetizer is not the chefs choice ; how ridiculous!!! we were charged extra for where we were seated!! When it came to happy hour drinks special we werent given the special because hostess ASSUMED we were there for dinner when we said we were there for happy hour specials! Highly disappointed. My family and I happened to be in the area so we stopped in for dinner. We were greeted by one of the owners and the hostess, who were very nice, and we were seated right away. The waitress came right over took our drink orders. She went over specials and gave us some time to look over the menu. We started off with the bulldog sampler, fried ravioli, mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, onion rings and crackle bites. The sampler was so good, the crackle bites(corned beef, kraut, and cheese fried) were amazing! We all had ordered something different, my daughter had the honey bbq ribs with fries, my son had the steak sandwich with bacon jam and cheese, my husband had the Rock(burger with tequila marinated pineapple, chipotle honey bourbon bbq sauce and Gruyère cheese), I had the smoking Molly (hot pastrami, with spicy coleslaw, pepper jack on grilled rye bread) with sweet potato fries that came with melted marshmallow for dipping, Every meal was delicious!My kids said it was one of their top ten restaurants. Very nice decor & atmosphere. The street next to restaurant was closed down on both sides of Wellwood ave this night and tables were set up with live band playing. It was a very lively scene and beautiful night. We had reservations and were seated quickly. The service was friendly and attentive. However, the food was quite lacking. I don't think the menu offerings were worthy of the category of gastro pub and the dishes that we did have were average at best. Our appetizers - double baked chicken wings were not crispy and nothing special as far as flavor. The shrimp app looked quite spiced, but was bland and shrimp were small. Main courses - my steak was way over cooked. I asked for medium rare and got medium well to well done. Steak was small, grey in color, flavorless and had no char whatsoever. The chef does not know how to cook steak or was indifferent. It was decent cut of strip steak, but was ruined unfortunately. My wife's salmon dish was bland as well and the filet was very very small. Seemed as though it was simply broiled and plated with no seasoning. The side dish of spinach was way over salted. Our other guest ordered a sandwich which he said he enjoyed. A manager did stop by table to ask how everything was. We mentioned the over salted spinach, but none of the other issues as we felt it was not worth enumerating them because so much was lacking and under par. read more
