Not a big park, but it is wonderfully shaded! It has a nice enough play structure with an end for tots and a part that's more "big kid" friendly. The ground of the play structure area is wood chips. There are public restrooms, and there's a small parking lot. When I got to the park and there were no spots left in the lot, I was able to easily find street parking a block away (and in the shade!). There are picnic tables and lots of grassy area. The best part of this park is that it has shade galore! Yes I get very excited about shaded parks. Mom life!

Google around and found this park in Los Gatos . Although it js a short hiking trail , it has good elevation for short exercise . The trail is well maintain and easy to walk , or even run . Please note : no water station or toilet that I am aware of , dog friendly walking path

Finally checked out this place after a friend recommended it. I could see how this is only known to LG residents because it is nestled in a exclusive neighborhood. You'll drive by what looks like a tv set neighborhood to drive into the park. Limited spots but it wasn't too busy on a Saturday morning around 9:30 am. If you are out of shape, start on your right. The trail entrance on the left is a steep beginning. We felt the trail was too short so we went all the way around twice for a total of almost 6 miles. What I loved is that there were not a lot of people. I am that person that hikes with a mask and follows all COVID protocols so I appreciated less hikers Compared to other busy areas. Recommend it!

A charming, well-maintained little park in a nice, quiet neighborhood, complete with a playground for the kiddos and flat, grassy area for hanging out, picnicking or maybe tossing a ball around with friends or your kids! There are also picnic tables, a group area you can reserve (signs tell you how to do so), and restrooms that were surprisingly much cleaner than one would expect for a park! Our favorite part of Belgatos Park is the access to a few great trails that are part of Santa Rosa Open Space. These trails are open from 7am to sunset, and are open for hiking, mountain biking, trail running, and even horseback riding. Dogs are allowed on the trails too, but must be kept on a leash. The trails are really well-maintained as well, and within minutes can whisk you away into the hills where you feel like you're far, far away from the city! We did get a great view all the way towards downtown San Jose on a recent clear morning, and with all the rain we got over the past few months, everything was super green and the birds were singing!

This was a great place to start a hike. Located in Los Gatos, this park is in the middle of two open space preserves: Santa Rosa Open Space and Heintz Open Space. Belgatos is the start of two major hiking trails: Ridge Trail which is about .3 miles, which takes you into Santa Rosa Open Space and Santa Rosa Trail which is about .4 miles and connects you to Valley View Trail that leads you into Heintz Open Space. Valley View Trail is about a mile long. If you do both trails as out and backs, it makes a great 3.4 mile hike. If you have kids, stick to the playground. They have swings and wonderful things for kids to climb and play on.

Getting lost after visiting a nearby crafts fair brought me to this great park! I was beyond exited to this gem! Belgatos to me means 'beautiful cats'. I did not see any cat or mountain lion but surely I watched not to step over any snake on my way up...I have to say I was dressed with nice shoes and a dress, not in a hiking mode at all. However, this park is just the beginning of a series of trails where I saw people going up mountain biking and other excursionists dressed with proper attire. I was just there wandering, so it is great that the discovery of a new park for me has open the possibilities of new trails to hike hopefully soon. The parking lot is not huge, but I found a spot right away. Looks like this park -a park per kids and for picnics - is mostly used by the neighbors, so it has a cozy feeling to it. There were some ladies signing and playing guitar, friends picnicking in some of the tables and some kids playing, but not crowded at all and super pleasant. They have bathrooms and also a big photographic map with indications of all trails you can take from that park.

This is a nice park tucked in a Los Gatos neighborhood. It has a small playground and a few short hiking trails with beautiful oak trees and views of the South Bay. It has a small parking lot, about 10 spots. We went on a Friday afternoon and there were just a few people there. Be aware - when we went we were warned by another hiker that there were two juvenile mountain lions spotted right before we got there only a few hundred feet from the playground. Of course this can happen anywhere in our area but it is good to be aware!

There's a couple of trails you can go on. If you're a full circle kind of person (where you don't want to walk the same trail 2x [there and back], then I would recommend the Pink Line then walking through a little of the residential area and then taking the yellow line. Beware, the pink line is a little steep, but if you take it slow, it's fine. The Yellow line is called "Yellow" for a reason, there is only yellow "grass' that surrounds the trail. It's a nice area to hike because there's not that many people that come to this spot and the people that you'll meet along the way during your hike are super friendly. You won't be seeing any "cool" wildlife here other than the occasional bird, squirrel, or lizard. It's an okay place to take pictures, but there's not THAT much to photograph because it's mainly yellow grassland. ~~Parking: Free, but there's limited spots. I would say that you'd have to get there before 10 AM if you want to get a spot, because it starts filling up after that ~~Tips: If you think you'll get hungry, bring food! It's a park too so there's a table in the shade that you can eat at or you can have a picnic on the large grass area.

I am thankful to live in this area where there are so many trails that are not congested. This is a nice fairly hidden trail that starts next to a children's park. It is pretty steep when you start but evens out after the first stretch. It is interconnected with the other LG trails and you can choose the distance you want to go. You get some nice views of the South Bay from here.

This is a fantastic little park! The playground has swings, slides and even a climbing wall. The bathrooms were clean and there is even one of those cool water bottle refill stations. There is a nice grassy area perfect for picnicking. There is a nice hiking trail but it's a little confusing the map is about half a mile into the hike. The hike is hilly but we saw even little ones walking it however it is not stroller friendly I repeat NOT STROLLER FRIENDLY. Overall it's a perfect park to spend the afternoon hiking and playing.

This review is more for the hiking trails than for the kid's park. Kid's park looks great. As for the hike.....If. you. want. to. sweat. your. ass.off. and. talk. in. between. gasps. like. this. hike. at.this. park! The BF and I have recently decided to hike at least 2-3 times a week and checked this park out. We have only taken one trail so far, but boy, was it a tough one! It starts off fairly easy, and then all of a sudden you are walking up some pretty steep hills! I guess we took a wrong turn somewhere though and ended up on the hill by all the residential homes...which is actually no longer in the park, but we decided to just loop around the neighborhood and back into the park. It was kind of cool though, because other than the beauty of nature all around us, we also got to take in the beauty of all the gorgeous million dollar homes too! We will definitely be back, although I don't see this becoming one of our favorite spots. only because I think there are other trails that are much more scenic and calming.

The park is fine and there are bathrooms, but every time I go there, I'm attacked by flies or hornets. So many bugs.
