Beefteki Platter with fries & rice

Greek on Cary is yummy & decently priced. I've only been during lunch and it's never been super crowded during that time. Staff is always friendly. I usually get a platter because it's the perfect amount/variety of food. MY favorite so far is the Beefteki Platter - SUPER flavorful!

Great food. The chicken souvlaki pita was tasty and became even better with extra tzatziki sauce. The tiropita and dolmades are also good. We ended the meal with greek coffee paired with the pistachio and walnut baklavas. The pistachio one was the favorite but both were very good. The coffee nicely offset the sweetness. Service was a little slow but that was remedied by going to the front counter and another waitress was quick to help.

My husband and I were visiting some friends over the weekend, since it wasn't planned we didn't made any dinner reservations, by the time we were done exploring Richmond's Downtown Vintage shops and getting hungrier, we decided to grab dinner at some restaurant that will seat the 4 of us without a reservation. We read falafels, pitas and hummus, perfect for a slightly gloomy weather! This place has a stunning interior! Definitely those murals are a showstopper! The actual restaurant gives you a perfect mix of "authentic Greek family restaurant" with the looks of a more modern European bistro. We shared the Spread Sampler and the Dolmades. The sampler had: Hummus (chickpeas blended with sesame seed butter and oil), Crazy Feta (whipped feta cheese, with cherry peppers and olive oil), Tzatziki (Greek yogurt, garlic, dill and cucumber) paired with pitas and cucumber slices; every dip was generous portioned, the four of us enjoyed lots of each! Their crazy feta dip and their tzatziki were our favorites! The quality of their Greek yogurt and their feta cheese is spectacular! The dolmades had the right marinated and didn't taste "old" or rancid like in other Greek spots I've had food before. Everyone ordered a different platter with their own side options (all the platters come with 2 options of sides and small portion of pita and tzatziki). I ordered the shrimp platter with salad and stewed green beans; the salad was more like a non spicy pico de gallo with some chopped lettuce (I was happy with it!), these are the best seasoned stewed green beans I've had in so long! Also the chunk of feta cheese on top was spot on! The shrimp was perfectly marinated and grilled. My husband had the lamb gyro and our friends had the falafel platter and shrimp platter as well. They got fries and rice, I tried some of the fries and were pretty good (not dripping in oil or browned). Solid spot if you are visiting Richmond! I really want to come back, because I regret not ordering their flaming halloumi cheese they served to table next to us!!!!

    Large Mixed Platter

I got the large mixed platter ($36) to share and it came with lamb gyro, chicken gyro, chicken souvlaki, beefteki, shrimp souvlaki and two sides (rice and green beans). This allowed us to try a bit of everything which was nice however I was let down with the overall flavor of most of it. The chicken and lamb gyro was seasoned good but quite dry while the chicken souvlaki was moist but lacked flavor. The beefteki and the shrimp were the only highlight of the meal. There was a lot of food more than enough to feed two people and probably perfect for three. The staff was nice but the service lacked . They only came to take our order and bring it out (about 10 mins), however after that they never came to check up on us or refill our drinks. Overall I thought the food was quite underwhelming and a bit disappointing, maybe it would've tasted much better wrapped in a pita bread vs it being on a platter. Food (50%): 6.0 Staff/service(25%): 6.0 Value(25%): 7.5 Overall: 6.4/10

Super cute and affordable with good quality ingredients. Very underrated in RVA, I think it's such a staple it gets overlooked unfortunately.

Running errands in Cary Town and we stopped into Greek on Cary for the first time. There was a wait at 2pm which to me is always a great sign. We were greeted promptly and opted to order takeout. My husband ordered a lamb gyro platter and I had the Chicken Souvlaki Pita. The food was prepared quickly but even the short wait had our stomach's growling because everything smelled so good. When we got home we devoured our food. It was excellent. I think it may be the best Tzatziki I have ever had. I wish I had a giant bowl of it. Highly recommend- can't wait to go back!

Iniside was nice! When you enter the store there is a place for takeout then you get seated on the other side of the restaurant. Gives me the impression that it's very popular with takeout! It gives a very modern vibe and was pretty well lit. Food was good, but did not wow me! I did love the pita though, and I wouldn't mind getting the lamb again if I happened to go! Service was wonderful!

If they aren't part of the decor, it was a treat nonetheless. We stepped inside from the rain with a parking spot very near the door. I snapped a pic on the way in to capture it's essence. We risked another walk-in with no reservations, and we snagged two prime end seats on the communal table. There were two open seats at the bar as well; might come in handy some other rainy Thursday night. The server, Murphy M., judging by the receipt, who helped my partner and I with our order, was a gracious host and incredibly well-practiced. It was a master class in serving, made effortless by him. He could not have been more accommodating, as we saw him appear inevitably at the exact right moments. Our server offered us bread and oil before the appetizer. The bread here is made fresh daily. It was so soft, I could not tell the difference from store bought. The food was exquisitely well prepared, the chefs and kitchen staff are immensely skilled. The appetizer was presented to us within a relatively short amount of time. We had time for a short discussion before the it arrived. The Tiropita was described as "four pieces of heaven." Accurate. The phyllo was thin and crisp, and the feta was creamy and delicious. I was careful not to bite too hard and ruin my pants. I had the Kotopoulo, which is a feta-brined oven-baked chicken with lemon and herbs served with lemon potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection. The cooked potatoes were exactly as I like them, soft yet held their shape. It was an excellent meal, if a bit unwieldy (it's like half a rotisserie chicken, basically). My partner had the Hilopites, an egg noodle dish with giant beans, pine nuts, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and feta, in a creamy, savory sauce that I couldn't begin to describe with mere words. The meals were both stunning, made unclear by my disastrous photography. All that being said, I did not really enjoy my meal as I was expecting. Maybe it's me, maybe it's today, or maybe the flavors simply weren't what I am accustomed to with the dozens of Greek restaurants from my past. I'm uncertain, and that's okay sometimes. Either way, it was a fantastic experience, and I will dine here again.
