My mom and I stopped by Greek on Cary and had an enjoyable experience! I had gone previously and this was her first time but we both ordered the lamb and beef gyro. The flavor was there and the serving size was pretty generous. Definitely left satisfied and could've probably went for another one given my large appetite. We stopped in here for lunch yesterday while we checked out Cary town. I'm so glad that we did because their food was amazing. We had a large group of 7 and they were able to accommodate us even during their lunch rush. I had the lamb gyro with a side of lemon pepper fries and a side Greek salad. The entire meal down to the pita was delish. I had an extra side of their tzatziki and it was the best I've had. It was not too garlicky and was just the right texture. My husband and I were visiting some friends over the weekend, since it wasn't planned we didn't made any dinner reservations, by the time we were done exploring Richmond's Downtown Vintage shops and getting hungrier, we decided to grab dinner at some restaurant that will seat the 4 of us without a reservation. We read falafels, pitas and hummus, perfect for a slightly gloomy weather! This place has a stunning interior! Definitely those murals are a showstopper! The actual restaurant gives you a perfect mix of "authentic Greek family restaurant" with the looks of a more modern European bistro. We shared the Spread Sampler and the Dolmades. The sampler had: Hummus (chickpeas blended with sesame seed butter and oil), Crazy Feta (whipped feta cheese, with cherry peppers and olive oil), Tzatziki (Greek yogurt, garlic, dill and cucumber) paired with pitas and cucumber slices; every dip was generous portioned, the four of us enjoyed lots of each! Their crazy feta dip and their tzatziki were our favorites! The quality of their Greek yogurt and their feta cheese is spectacular! The dolmades had the right marinated and didn't taste "old" or rancid like in other Greek spots I've had food before. Everyone ordered a different platter with their own side options (all the platters come with 2 options of sides and small portion of pita and tzatziki). I ordered the shrimp platter with salad and stewed green beans; the salad was more like a non spicy pico de gallo with some chopped lettuce (I was happy with it!), these are the best seasoned stewed green beans I've had in so long! Also the chunk of feta cheese on top was spot on! The shrimp was perfectly marinated and grilled. My husband had the lamb gyro and our friends had the falafel platter and shrimp platter as well. They got fries and rice, I tried some of the fries and were pretty good (not dripping in oil or browned). Solid spot if you are visiting Richmond! Most unprofessional food experience of my life! We were seated at 1:15pm. and finally left at 2:06pm. without any food! The waitress and owner displayed the most unprofessional attitude/outburst I have ever experienced! After watching 2 other patrons that were seated after us getting their food (At 1:40pm.) we inquired as to the status of our simple meal (2 grilled pitas/1 veggie &1-beef). The first reason was the kitchen was backed up which we understood given it was busy but after inquiring again at about 1:50pm. We were eventually given a BS excuse that the veggie prep and cooking takes much longer than beef and was the reason for the delay. I have been in the food industry and know this was a complete lie to cover for either the order being dropped out of POS system or never submitted. My advice is in the future is to be honest and not confrontational when you make a mistake. We were never offered anything to accommodate for the long wait. All we received was an overly emotional/gaslighting waitress! I can't comment on the food since we never got to taste it but I caution anyone who orders a veggie pita..the wait time is over 50 minutes! read more

I got the large mixed platter ($36) to share and it came with lamb gyro, chicken gyro, chicken souvlaki, beefteki, shrimp souvlaki and two sides (rice and green beans). This allowed us to try a bit of everything which was nice however I was let down with the overall flavor of most of it. The chicken and lamb gyro was seasoned good but quite dry while the chicken souvlaki was moist but lacked flavor. The beefteki and the shrimp were the only highlight of the meal. There was a lot of food more than enough to feed two people and probably perfect for three. The staff was nice but the service lacked . They only came to take our order and bring it out (about 10 mins), however after that they never came to check up on us or refill our drinks. Running errands in Cary Town and we stopped into Greek on Cary for the first time. There was a wait at 2pm which to me is always a great sign. We were greeted promptly and opted to order takeout. The sampler was delicious and a great way to try what we wanted. The tatziki sauce was out of this world and the falafel were second favs. The calamari was tender and delicious and I love fried peppers with mine. Chicken gyro pita and falafel gyro pita: My friend loved her falafel pita. I loved the bread they used for these gyros. The chicken was tasty too. Dolmades: I'm picky with these since I grew up with them. While they didn't quite reach what I love and am used to, they were still pretty tasty. Horiatiki Salad: My friend loves this salad because she finds lettuce to be a waste of space. It's all the tasty stuff that goes in a salad without the actual lettuce. I liked it a lot. Fries: A bit plain so we added some other spices, but the way the potato was prepared was very good. Saganaki: You probably don't want to get saganaki as takeout unless you eat it immediately, because it was a little rubbery. Ignoring that, it was very tasty. I cannot say enough great things about this place. I am a flight attendant and first found myself here in October. I just looked up "food near me" and randomly picked this place. The tables feature rattan chairs. The wait staff are warm and welcoming. Zoe is very nice and personable and can converse about various subjects. The food is amazing. I like the soup and salad and combo. You get a bowl of chicken orzo soup and a small Greek salad. The only improvement I would suggest is to put less lemon in the soup. It obscures the flavor. Steve and I like the chicken gyro and I am a big fan of souvlaki especially chicken and shrimp. My Steve enjoys side dishes especially the sweet potato fries.
