Yelp, First time at this location. I'm not sold yet. Food tastes bland, generic, and tasteless. It needs to be a little more savory. The other location does a better job with flavor. We got the chicken Alfredo and fried green beans. Green beans are good. Pasta not so much. I'm impressed with location and service, so I definitely will return.

Small restaurant with a bit of a rustic atmosphere. Wife and I got the raviolis for an appetizer, the Sicilian pizza, and the brownie for dessert. All the food was excellent, especially the Pizza. The service was a bit underwhelming but in their defense, it was a holiday and the place was still packed at 3 when we left. Only bad was the wait time to get a seat but again, it was Mother's Day so we can give some grace on that.

Great addition to Gardendale! We've been in need of a place where you can get a good slice of pizza. Great sandwiches, salads, and Italian favorites. I will be back!

Came into town for work and this resturant was right next to my hotel. I ordered the Lasagna and it was superb! They have a large assortment of beers and the place was packed. Friendly staff and owners were cool. Come check it out.

Great food and Service !! Ask for Melody !! It's a cheerfully busy restaurant that provides great vibes to its customers!!

The event was advertised online with pre purchased tickets to start at 3. We showed up at 3 and were told that it actually started at 4. No problem, we had a drink inside and enjoyed the vibe. When we tried to cash out, it was a little difficult. There were extra people helping but they ignored me and my friend and walked away after clearing the men at the bar. When the bartender cashed us out, she charged us for the event that we'd purchase tickets for online and that was an ordeal trying to get a credit. As of the morning after, my bank account has a charge and no credit. All in all, I have 4 transactions (all charges) from them when there should be 2. The apps were a nice touch to the event and people seemed to be having fun.

I plan to comeback to checkout the inside ambiance and likely grab a snack as well.

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by shelves of wines, charcuterie boards, and gourmet accompaniments, making it a fun place to browse before your meal. Unfortunately, my first impression of the service wasn't the strongest. When I approached the host stand, I was greeted with, "What do you want?" While it may have been an off moment or simply a poor choice of words, it didn't feel particularly welcoming. Since I was standing at the host stand in the dining area, I assumed it would be clear that I was there to eat. I was also initially directed toward the bar, despite it being nearly full and located in a busy area where staff were constantly moving through. Since I was dining solo and wanted a more relaxed experience, I asked about patio seating instead, and thankfully that was available. Once seated, my experience improved considerably. My server struck the perfect balance between being attentive and giving me space to enjoy my meal. Since it was my first visit, I had several questions about the menu, and he was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely happy to offer recommendations. I decided to order one of the daily specials along with a build-your-own charcuterie board and a Kir Royale to drink. The Heirloom Tomato Salad was an excellent choice. It was fresh, vibrant, and had a flavor profile that set it apart from the many tomato salads I've had before. It's the kind of seasonal special I'd happily order again. For my charcuterie board, I selected Soppressata, Prosciutto, and Gin & Juice for the meats, along with Campo de Montalbán and Midnight Moon cheeses. Everything paired beautifully with the accompanying bread, nuts, and garnishes. Each bite felt thoughtfully curated, and it made for a leisurely meal that encouraged slowing down and savoring each combination. The Kir Royale was equally enjoyable--light, bubbly, and refreshing. It complemented the charcuterie perfectly and is an easy recommendation if you're looking for a celebratory cocktail. One of my favorite parts of the visit was the patio. It was the perfect place to enjoy Birmingham's beautiful weather while people-watching and taking in the neighborhood. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it easy to linger over the meal. Before leaving, I had one more interaction with the hostess that left me a bit puzzled. Since I was dining alone, I took my belongings with me when I went to the restroom after letting my server know where I was headed and asking him to bring my check. As I walked back, the hostess commented, "I thought you had gone." While she may not have intended anything by it, the remark came across as though she assumed I had left without paying, which made for another awkward interaction. I settled my bill at the front counter without issue, but it reinforced my initial impression of the hospitality at the host stand. Overall, I'd rate Red or White an **8/10**. The food, drinks, patio, and service from my server made for a very enjoyable experience, and I would absolutely return for another charcuterie board and cocktail. The only thing holding this visit back from earning a higher rating was my experience with the hostess. Hospitality begins the moment a guest walks through the door, and small interactions can have a lasting impact. Even so, the quality of the food and atmosphere makes this a spot I'd happily visit again.

If you know me, you know that if there's burrata on the menu, I'm ordering it. Bettola's is one of the most unique I've ever had. It's almost soupy, and it's scrumptious. Music was light and atmosphere was inviting. Staff was polite and attentive. We tried, the suggested, Mentone AL tomato salad to start. For dinner we chose the pepperoni and filetto pizzas. They serve a classic Neapolitan style wood fired pizza. Pizza was a good personal size. Crisp crust with nice leopard spotting. Chewy inside with good gluten development. Middle was a little soggy, but typical for Neapolitan style. Toppings were fresh and flavorful. Chocolate Budino was light and fluffy with a hint of salt. The roasted hazelnuts gave it a nice crunch. The house made whipped creme was firm and smooth. Excellent meal! No complaints. Highly recommend.
