For what it is It's better than what I expected! My son wanted to go here for his birthday so we took him. I got a bacon double cheeseburger which was pretty good. My husband got a steak and cheese sandwich and my son got patty melt I think. Everything was good BUT everything is carbs . There is nothing as a side but hashbrowns. For someone without dietary restrictions it's a pretty cheap and good option. For those like myself well it just doesn't cut it. It's not how I eat usually and not how I want to eat. It was purely for my son * My husband is ok with it and used to go frequently in the morning but He works. When a person works you need breakfast on the go and charging extra well it's just not right! Just because it's extra work I guess?? Strange way to do business. I don't have high hopes for places like this but it was better than expected! The server was polite and nice. He also checked on us a time or two. He was also nice to everybody. This is not the norm for most businesses nowadays. Many like I found out yesterday don't want to have friendly customer service. So it's a nice surprise !! So for what it is it's really at the top of what it can be for what it is. So would I go again ? If my son wants to go but otherwise no because I do have dietary restrictions ! Heather was greeting and seating as we sat. She's asking if she can get us coffee or anything. Great service. Not your normal, Waffle House. There is a feel about this place. if you want to say ambience OK? Don't know who is running the jukebox it went from Johnny Cash( Jackson) to the Commodores. And it all worked. My first time coming to this location was on a Saturday afternoon. It's a little challenging to get in and out of. I picked a seat at a table that needed to be cleaned off but the staff took care of it right away. April my server was attentive. My food came out fast and fresh! Don't go at night and don't expect your online order to be ready at the time the website tells you. And don't expect anyone to approach you at the register to see why you are standing there. And sure don't expect your order to be ready 20 minutes after the website said your order would be ready. And don't expect to get any apologies from the worker who only spoke to you after you made sure to get their attention 20 minutes after standing at the register. Yes they were busy but good grief talk to people when they are standing at the register. And when I tell you my online order, alreay paid for, was supposed to be ready twenty minutes ago, don't just tell me yall are busy. Get a manager and just give me my money back. Had I not left sick as a dog after my meal, I wouldn't have bothered to leave this review. One breath away from a hospital visit because of food poisoning. The tattooed man with the backwards cap who prepped the majority of my meal spent more time picking his nose and playing with the juke box than he did anything else. A lackadaisical approach by an individual or even the whole team is easy to forget if everything else is up to par, but to be so cavalier with the health of others cannot be overlooked or ignored. This is probably the nicest Waffle House I've ever been to! The restaurant is newly built, so that helps. When I've gone, I've been able to find a table immediately. This location is definitely one of the cleaner ones I've been to. I've always been very satisified with the food. Waffle House food is one of life's greatest guilty pleasures...it's so bad for you with all the grease and butter....but it tastes sooooo good. I'll gladly suffer a mild heart attack for a Chicken Melt and hashbrowns scattered, covered, smothered, and chunked. I also like that they offer cherry and vanilla flavors for the soft drinks....love me some vanilla coke!! We came to eat lunch with my daughter and she's 13. We sat at the bar and were pleasantly eating, even though they had not cleaned the area when we sat down. It was dirty and sticky. Anyways a gentleman came up to pay and candidly apologized about"the grits" Apparently there had been a large lump in them but the server replaced them and gave him a discount. The server proceeded to argue with the customer very loudly for the entire restaurant to hear. He told her that if you bring out food that you your self would not eat then you shouldn't bring it out. Overall, I had a great experience during my first dine in at this location. I ventured in on a Saturday morning around 8:45 am and was able to grab the last available booth. Our waitress promptly greeted us and took our orders. Our food was to our table in about 10 minutes and cooked to order. I like that this WH still uses the waffle iron with the "Waffle House" logo stamped in the middle of the waffle. The establishment was very clean and I noticed an employee cleaning booths as soon as guests left so as to be ready for new guests. I am removing a star because, a few days prior, I attempted to place a to-go order via phone. I called FIVE times over 7 or so minutes and no one ever answered the phone. I would have been more understanding if, when I passed by, I saw that the restaurant was packed... however, I did not see that the restaurant was even remotely packed. read more

Went around 7pm on Monday night. The waiter walked up and first thing he says was "hey we are busy so I'll get to you when I can". After about 20 minutes he comes back to take our order. The food comes up quick but is thrown together. Eggs falling off the plate and grease everywhere. When trying to pay the cashier does not even acknowledge any of us and is talking with her friend. There were non employees behind the counter that were dancing around and distracting the staff. Needs some management to step in. This is the most incompetent waffle house I have ever been to! We are staying at a nearby campground and on 3 seperate occasions I ordered a dish with egg whites only and you would think I am speaking a foreign language for what they end up giving me. We got the orders to go and my husband did not check the orders before leaving so he is in trouble too ... LOL ... but my god how hard is it to do egg whites only??? They are idiots! The last time we ordered my husband said it was a bunch of teenagers working and most of the work they were doing was checking their phones and laughing. My husband even had to wait while they played around to get his food. Also we ordered Waffles and got NO syrup! Hubs caught that and went back in before driving off and the girl said "i thought you said you didn't want anything else when you ordered"...? ... My husband said that he didn't realize that he had to specifically order SYRUP to which the girl said "well tonight you do" and laughed. He got the syrup and went back to the car to then see we got no silverware! Even though we specifically asked for silverware. So... Yup... He had to go back in to get silverware AND napkins! What a ridiculous place! If you are ever in Helena alabama and want waffle house go to a different location. This was on June 5th at dinnertime. Solid Waffle House location. The cook this evening promptly prepared the meals. He brought our food fresh from the griddle as each item came up which was nice. Most cooks set the dishes to the side and wait for the sever to get them. Our orders were correct and well prepared. Son got some philly cheese steak melt which looked awesome. He inhaled it before I could steal a bite. I had large order of hash browns well done w cheese onion and ham. I was very happy with my order. Daughter was starving went waffle sausage and cheese egg. She didn't come close to finishing it but definitely put a dent in it. It was exactly what she wanted. Son and I chipped in. The waffle was crisp, not burned and their sausage and cheese eggs are always good. Our server seemed new to serving. She didn't really check on us and we had to flag her down for refills when they weren't busy, but her personality and friendliness made up for it. Our past couple trips to our regular WH have been really disappointing so this may become our new go to location. It's closer to our house too. read more

Decided to give it another try, since I've always had magnificent experiences here up until recently. I go in again, I'm greeted, but the girl who greeted me is sitting down, on her phone, no face mask on, no hairnet, no gloves. She doesn't even get up to take my order. Then another lady comes from the back, carrying dishes, and says "why didn't you tell me someone was here?" . This lady, going by D.M or "Mama Des" on her name tag, took my order, and looked to actually cleaning stuff up. The other woman, I couldn't get her name, short/stocky figure her area was disgusting. I didn't want her to cook my food at all and I watched her like a hawk. Looking at the receipt I didn't even know Waffle House added 10% to the bill for servers for to go orders. That seems pretty ridiculous to charge that since we're in a pandemic, and even know you can dine in, you're more at risk if you do. Especially for someone like me who is immunosuppressant. I didn't leave a tip, because of the ridiculous to go service charge in the pandemic, and also the lady preparing my food didn't deserve one. I walked in on July 1, 2021 at 9:30 pm with my two children. There were four employees sitting around when we walked in the doors. We were told we had to leave and wait for the third shift to come in. No one was in the restaurant. I am guessing they must have run everyone else out because they did not want to have to serve or feed anyone else. It was highly disappointing for a place that claims to be open 24 hours. I am a HUGE Waffle House fan and was excited about this Helena location opening. Unfortunately it pains me to say that this location is the absolute worst I've ever been to. I've come about 8 times since they've opened and my order has been right ONCE. Majority of those orders there were almost no customers inside and the order was still wrong or sloppily made. I've made pickup orders and got there to be told they didn't have what I ordered!!! The staff seems aloof literally all the time, slow, lazy and unfriendly. Unprofessional in front of guests etc. I'm severely disappointed. Why open a location if it's going to be ran like this???? Only giving one star because I have to give it something. Went in tonight at 6:40 PM. Just left at 7:03 PM. No one acknowledged us nor offered to clean any of the 3 dirty tables so we could sit.
