Most painful ever!! I'm happy I was under the influence, otherwise I wouldn't made it. I go to this one now that I'm on the Westbank. This is my only bad experience since I've been waxing. It's never hurt me, not even my first time. She must be new. She need a lot of training. She puts the wax on one side at a time (which prolongs it) The bed was too close to the wall, so my legs had no room to properly do the butterfly position. She would not lot let the wax dry. She would put the wax on, pat it 2-3 times then try to rip it off while it was still in the gel form. She wax the same place 5-6 times. I was catching the Holy Ghost in that at room. I was sweating from the fear of the next rip. She did not have the fan on! I needed it to stay dry from the panic. I could write a novel. 1st time I never gave a tip!!! read more

My sister in law recommended Bella to me and I'm so glad she did. I drive down Manhattan Blvd all the time and never knew it was located here. (If you can't find it, the salon is in the Fountain Park area and next to Allstate). I didn't know this before, but they also have two other locations in Metairie and Baton Rouge. It's very cute, spacious and clean inside, and the staff are all so friendly - and quick, which I love. I mean, $35 for a Brazilian is unheard of, and they really do an amazing job. They use hard wax, which pulls at the hair and not your skin, so no soft wax or cloth strips. They also don't push all their waxing and exfoliating products on you like other salons because they don't sell any of it here. It's strictly waxing only. She does not get everything & her technique is horrible, she put small strips of wax and she misses the pull every time so she has to keep going back to get a good grip on the wax. For my following appt they gave me a girl whose name started with an H, she was horrible! She left wax on me and didn't clean up well. I think Bella Brazilian deserves 5 stars just for their price. I mean $35 for a Brazilian (+tip)?? Crazy! I found Bella through my sister and groupon, which you should really get (I think it's $25 for a Brazilian + underarm) but you can only use it for your first time. The first girl I got was the same one I always requested, but she left. Now I just go with whoever because I've found I got a good experience with almost everyone. It's so clean and fast, and I love that you can make appointments online. It's cool that they're franchising, so I go to the wank location when I'm in town and to the BR one when I go to school. As for the pain, I have a high pain threshold so Idk. But if anything, it's just slightly uncomfortable. The estheticians make you feel comfortable though and also very relaxed. Some will play music to calm you and others will try to start a light conversation, which may or may not be weird to you. If you've never gotten waxed, I'd definitely say give it a try. I think I've found my permanent wax spot! I've finally found it!! My appointment was set for 9:30am, so I arrived fifteen minutes prior. I was greeted by the receptionist as soon as I walked in. Her vibe was radiant and she was very kind! I immediately felt welcomed! As I sat waiting, I admired the chic decor of the main area. White, pink, and rhinestone. Very feminine and stylish! Whitley Opdahl is by far the BEST waxer I've had! She instantly made me feel comfortable and relaxed. My wax was both smooth and hilarious, because our conversations had us laughing! She was very precise and detailed. There wasn't a single hair left once she was done! She's literally amazing! I hope I get her for next month's appointment. The person who calls to confirm the appointments is extremely rude and would not allow me to make another appointment without a credit card on file and when I refused to leave a card she blocked me from making future appointments.
