I have been going to this location for maybe 1.5 years for brazillian and more recentky under arm waxes. Both Morgan and Grace are fantastic. Neither sell you hard on products or services (but the lalicious exfoliant is truly amazing and I do purchase it there). Online booking's super easy and there's free parking out back. I first tried another waxing chain for a brazillian and while my cerologist was perfectly nice, the service was painful and she left wax behind. They use a corporate website to book which is deceiving and then won't try and work with you for small changes and then take your money and a whole lot of Nos. This was my first time visiting Waxing in the City after moving to the Cambridge area and I had a great experience. I was a little nervous with COVID but this location did a great job of making sure they were being as clean as possible and cleaning in between clients. Upon arriving they were hand sanitizers at the front door and the staff was constantly wiping down the entrance door as well as the iPad used to check clients in. Everyone also was wearing masks in the waiting area. Rayna did a great job on my brows and made me feel so comfortable within minutes of meeting her. We were chatting like old friends. She took her time and it definitely paid off. The only reason for giving this 4/5 is the price tag. It is on the expensive side for just a simple eyebrow waxing job and you can get similar services elsewhere but the experience was so great that I will be back! read more

For starters I've been coming to waxing the city since a year and half or so and have had great experiences so far. Bianca has been truly amazing and convinced me to actually get through my first Brazilian was! I thank her for having introduced me to the idea of it, in fact, being painless! :) On the contrary, my recent experience here with Morgan was unpleasant. In all honesty, I was about ten mins late to the appointment. I was given a very not-so-warm welcome and upon notifying that it would be the second time I'd get a Brazilian, I was made uncomfortable to proceed with the full service. I was led to the decision of not proceeding with full service, instead opt for a modified one and given absolutely no time to make my decision. almost felt like Morgan was in a hurry to leave, disinterested in providing the service and doing me a favor. I will absolutely not be returning for any service with Morgan. I think I'm putting myself through enough hardships & variables -- covid 19 precautions, long commute etc, to have put up with your attitude which was completely condemnable. read more

Initially, I had an issue with my first appointment and Natalya called me to explain the situation and offer discounted services. Natalya understood how important it was to value her customer's time. Due to this, I choose to give this place another chance. I recently had my brow, underarm, and Brazilian appointment and it was a good experience. The location was easy to find & very close to the Porter T square station (under 10 mins walk). The studio was very clean & staff followed Covid-19 protocol. The products they applied before and after the service smelled so good and I ended up buying some for myself. I will come back here again to try other services! read more

I don't even want to rate Waxing the City - but since Yelp forces you to give a star amount, I had to. This is more of a PSA: They will not wear masks if you ask them to. Apparently they don't have masks even available for employees. I'm not saying the default should be that everyone has to wear a mask with every customer, but if someone requests the staff person to wear one, they should comply and not make any kind of deal of it. I wore a mask, but since any facial waxing or other face service is so face-to-face, with the staff person's face literally hanging over yours, it's not as good as if both people were wearing masks. I am trying to not get sick before my wedding because there's a lot of money on the line, but I feel very badly for immunocompromised people who have to deal with this kind of thing daily. I guess they have to call in advance and find out which service providers will agree to wear a mask, which seems so unnecessary to put that burden on the customer when it is so easy to just have a box of masks for employees for the occasional customer who asks that the employee wear one. I have been going to Waxing the City for many years but won't be going back, because this practice seems unreasonable and they don't seem to put their customers first. read more

Rayna was great. She made me feel comfortable during my brazilian wax and it was very quick. This was my first time at Waxing the City and I really liked it. She put this aloe cleanser with natural numbing agents on my before and it made the wax way less painful.
