Our dinner here was fantastic! The service was very friendly, the atmosphere was quiet and calm, and the food was delicious! The complimentary rolls were light and tasty. I had the Italian Combo and it was perfect. The sauce was flavorful and I really enjoyed all the cheese! Best of all, the prices were very reasonable (especially when compared to a place like Olive Garden). Three stars because the front of the house people are very nice and try to be accommodating, also the food is of decent quality and reasonably priced. BUT - let's start with the garlic knots, more like garlic Not's. Not even a hint of garlic. In fact the food in general has no flavor. We have been three times and learned that if we request garlic and basil they will use seasoning but only if you ask for it. Personally I'm tired of working that hard. We had decided tonite, our third visit, that we were done and then we stopped to use the restrooms before we left and that sealed the deal. Messy, bad smelling and no hooks for purses in the ladies, I mean how hard is it to add a hook in the women's stalls? This place has been an Italian restaurant for many years. It was recently taken over by new owners about 2 years ago. And WOW - this place is so much better! They cook all their dishes with fresh garlic! Order the garlic cheese bread. Holy cow! It's delicious! Also try the Lobster ravioli! YUM. read more

I had the fun experience of trying to find a nice sit-down restaurant in Ennis on a Sunday evening and luckily came across Bella Italia here on Yelp. I'd have to say that many of the previous reviews had it right. Don't let the outside of the building influence you, be sure to enter into the restaurant side if you don't want a club atmosphere, and order pasta dishes. I took a group of 6 in and we almost had the place to ourselves which was a little concerning, but once the food hit the table, my concerns were eliminated. Food was excellent all the way around the table and the staff was attentive and pleasant. My parents live down near Ennis and I definitely see myself ending up back at Bella Italia. read more

The girl who waited on us was the sweetest! She overheard my daughter ask us about olives and shows up with a bowl full of olives (which is exactly what my child asked for). The food was so good that I should've stopped eating but didn't. My family wanted to try the desserts, which were the perfect finish to the meal. Slices are pre-sliced therefore small. I visit my mom from time to time and she often chooses Bella Italia for a special sit down meal. The portions have been generous and the well seasoned dishes take me back to the Italian restaurants I went to as a kid. This place was SO, SO, SO, SO, SO, SO GOOD!! We were heading back home from Dallas and our tummies were starving, we didn't think we would get such a yummy meal in such a small town in what felt like the middle of nowhere, and of course we were hesitant to go in... but best decision I've made! Their food was so good! I got the chicken cordon blue (I think it's how it's spelt) and I absolutely loved it, my boyfriend had the chicken carbonara and it was just equally delicious! Our waitress was very sweet and nice and she kept the bread rolls coming for our hungry tummies... the ONLY bad thing is that this place is about 3 hours away from where we live!!! (Inserts crying emoji face) but it is so tempting to drive up just to have some of their food!! Stopped in for a bite to eat and ordered the pepperoni calzone and stuffed mushrooms. The food was pretty tasty and the service was very good. My drink was bottomless as is never got half empty before I was asked if I wanted a fill up. The only thing that was off was the size of the stuffed mushrooms and the amount of pepperoni in the calzone. I was half way through the calzone before I even spied or tasted the pepperoni. The mushrooms were smaller than a 50 cent piece and they looked as if they were frozen heat up kind. The cheese sauce they were in was very good and the bread was excellent for dipping in the sauce. I was a little disappointed in the size of the mushrooms and the amount of pepperoni in my calzone it all tasted very good. Which makes me want to go back and try other things at this establishment. Would've gotten 5 stars had things been a little different. A must try place if you find yourself in Ennis. read more

Quite honestly I don't want to tell you just how good this place is! I really want to keep it all to myself. However, I live way up in Fort Worth and really want to move Bella Italia closer to me!!! This may have been my only visit to Ennis but I will truly savor the experience. I went with a friend who lives in Ennis. He assured me that ANYTHING on the menu would be good. Well, I didn't have room for everything on the menu but saw the Chicken Aristocrat. The ingredients looked yummy. Well, "Yummy" became an understatement. The dish was chicken breast topped with roasted peppers, onions, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese with tomato basil cream sauce over pasta. I've truly never had a better Italian mean.... EVER. Then, as if that isn't good enough, they bring you endless baskets of wonderful garlic bread that is piping hot just meant to sop up the tantalizing cream sauce left on your plate. The service was spot-on and we never went with an empty drink glass or an empty bread basket. The restaurant is certainly nothing to look at twice. The decor is dated but the food far outweighs this minor cosmetic appeal. read more

The owner was very informative & gave great suggestions!! Great food & nice atmosphere. DON'T let the exterior fool you!! THIS PLACE WAS GREAT!! Very small town mediocre food. Only us and one table on Friday at 8. Waiter didn't have any clue about wine and didn't have a wine list. Asked about wines three times and he never went and asked someone who knew. Asked for no mussels on my pasta and it came with mussels. Typical old building that hasn't been updated in decades. The bar looked busy but it had a live band playing Mexican music. I'm not opposed to Mexican music, just not in an Italian restaurant. The food was ok. read more
