It arrived only lukewarm and was neither crispy nor New York-style by any definition. The toppings were comparable to what you'd find on a frozen box pizza, which is exactly what this reminded us of. I'm a legit Italian, and this is some of the best Italian food I've ever had. I had the sausage and peppers -- very, very nice. My son had the calzone. It was also fantastic. Service was great, thanks to our server, Sophia. I was blown away by how affordable the food was. Great prices. This is a fantastic Italian-American neighborhood restaurant like you would find in New York, New Jersey, or Boston. You know, the one where you'd find the locals. We stopped in on Sunday afternoon and were seated right away. Super cute restaurant, felt nice and welcoming. Once we sat down we got our drinks right away, and some super warm and yummy garlic twists. We ordered cheese sticks, meat lovers pizza and baked ziti. The food came fast and was sooo good. I loved the marinara that came with the cheese sticks, and appreciated the Parmesan sprinkled on top of the sticks. The baked ziti was perfect, nice combo of ricotta and mozzarella with penne pasta. I made sure to bring some home as leftover pasta is the best! The mister had the pizza, it looked so good I couldn't resist! I hate a few slices myself. The toppings were large and flavorful and the crust perfect. We left nice and full and with yummy leftovers. We stopped here on a Sunday evening on our way from Dallas to Austin. Going only on Yelp Reviews, we stopped and ordered a quick meal. I was expecting average, maybe slightly better than average, spaghetti options. The menu has a wide variety of options and each one of us ordered something different. The portions were quite large and we ate ourselves into a food coma after eating only half of what we ordered. Despite being quite always from our stopping point, we all got to go boxes as we couldn't bare to leave such leave such amazing food behind. We even stopped and bought a cooler with ice to ensure it stayed cold enough to be refrigerated at our hotel. The next day we opted to eat our leftovers at the hotel rather than go out for dinner. That is a first for our family!!! We had the spaghetti and meat sauce, chicken Alfredo, chicken piccata and lasagne. All were amazing! Opt for the chicken soup also. It's delicious!!! read more

I'm originally from the NY, NJ, area, where there is fantastic pizza on every corner. This is one of the best pizzas I've had on this side of the Mississippi and the #1 or #2 pie I've had in Texas. The crust had all the right textures and easily took a fold hold, as it should. The sauce and cheese were great, and nothing was overly sweet or fake. A delicious pie. If I HAD to pick a nit, I might have preferred my cheese a little more golden, but that's an easy ask next time. Our server was attentive and exuded the small-town hospitality that made me fall in love with small-town Texas. Lampasas is "just down the road" from me (meaning a couple of hours), but I can see myself looking for excuses to visit there in the future--if for no other reason than having a couple of slices. read more

Update to my 5 star review from 2 years ago. Food for both me and my spouse was over salted. Bread and sweet tea was good. I've been dealing with indigestion now 4 hours later. This was my main Italian go to spot for great food. Waitresses would rather talk and laugh in the back corner than ask if food is alright, and ask if we need anything halfway thru the meal. When I have to walk to the front counter and ask for a to-go box and to pay for my meal. It's time to stop supporting this business. read more

Out for a Sunday drive and stopped in for a late lunch. Some of the best Italian food I have had in Texas. Fresh homemade bread started us out followed by made in the kitchen everything else we ordered. The marinara sauce was fresh and excellent. We will be back again. read more

Went here yesterday with family. Opted for a salad and while the serving was plentiful, the quality of the salad was interesting to say the least. Cheaply used cuts of salami that you can find in any grocery store next to the bologna that was $13.00. However, our waitress was nice and very accommodating with my order which is why I am giving this the rating that I did. FIRST THING..GET THE SOUP (you can get salad anywhere..lol) My kids brought me some leftovers from here about a year ago, they were delish as well as my meal today. I seldom eat out at restaurants, today I spoiled myself with Veal Parmesan, my fav! When I got my main dish the Veal was overcooked and impossible to eat. The food is delicious every time you go and eat. The staff is wonderful, and very attentive. The owner of the restaurant comes and makes sure you are enjoying your dish. Spaghetti is my most favorite dish of all. I get the meat sauce and it's the best! They give you lots of rolls and any sauce you want to dip, you roll. Their chicken Alfredo is also delicious! We ate here for a Christmas gathering for work. The place was clean the party room was already set up for us. We had a few people cancel at the last minute but that was not a problem. There were 7 of us. Menu service was fully available. Our server was super attentive, kept glasses full, bread on the table, plates clear. Brought us a trash bag for Christmas gift wrap and our disposable plates for the cake we brought. Honestly she was great. The portions of food were larger than expected. Everyone had a take home box. Chicken Parmigiana was my meal and I felt it was great. Pasta was perfectly cooked. And can't speak to anyone else's meal but everyone said their food was good. We really enjoyed our lunches at Bella Italia. First, they come out with these garlic bread rolls, which were hot, fresh, and wonderful. Then, they came out with the salad, which was fresh and delicious. And then came the entrees. My meat stromboli was hot, fresh, and delicious. I contacted Bella Italia Lampasas in November to reserve a room for Sun Dec 3 as my motorcycle group was participating in the Tri-County Toy Run from Temple to Lampasas and we wanted to make sure this small restaurant could accommodate us for a very late lunch at 3pm. Patricia reserved the back room for 25 and said she would be happy to add another table if we needed more seats. We had excellent service and everyone was satisfied with their food. We were served by 2 very sweet young waitresses, Hadley and Chloe, and another blonde that i unfortunately didnt catch her name (possibly Patricia the mgr?) . They served us promptly, and although this establishment does not serve wine or beer, they did inform us we could BYOB. A few of my riders were able to walk across the street to a convenience store & bring back some drinks. Hadley even brought a bucket of ice to keep the beer cold! The menu is very reasonably priced, the chicken pasta dishes and lasagna were tasty, as was the eggplant parmesan. The calamari was not such a hit, (cut a bit thick and rubbery), but we didnt complain, as the service was impeccable and these girls worked hard to make our visit memorable! This is a gem in the fabric of mid Texas. My favorite is the veal puttensca. You are transported to Italia in a meal. The chef is a genius and I wonder why he is in Lampasas instead of San Antonio or Dallas. This restaurant is not to be missed. Stopped here for the first time this afternoon, service was quick and exceptional. Food was amazing and very large portions. Kiddo had the cheese pizza, which I didn't think would be that good since it's only a cheese pizza, but it was absolutely delicious. I had to Veal Parmesan and it was wonderful.
