I got a choice of soup or salad and chose the salad with Thousand Island dressing. The salad was good but could have used some croutons or crackers to go with it. The lasagna was excellent but also could have been served with some garlic bread. Service was fast and friendly. They were right on time with everything. Parking seemed limited but people made do with street parking and across the street. There were one or two couples waiting for a table on a busy Friday night at various times throughout my meal.

I looked around and immediately thought, "Nope. I'm staying!" The atmosphere was so inviting. Pool tables were popping, games were being played, whole families were hanging out together, and everybody seemed to be having a good ol' time. Then there was the music... JAMMING! Lampasas Beer Market is hands-down one of the best spots in town. By the time you leave, every one of your senses has gotten in on the fun. Your eyes have plenty to see, your ears get great music, your nose knows something delicious is happening, your hands stay busy with games, and your taste buds are gonna LOVE you. It wasn't extremely busy when we were there so we didn't really know why it was taking so long. Waitress didn't really seem to notice or comment on the wait time or how things came out so separately from each other. I would say come for drinks and a snack but dinner not so much. Or don't come very hungry because you might be waiting a good while before your food arrives.

The girl behind the counter was very sweet and accommodating, especially for my picky kids. My kids love pulled pork and they said this was okay but they preferred grandpa's. It did look a little dry but my husband said it was okay. My chicken salad sandwich was dry as well. The potato salad was really good though!!! They both could have used a little more seasoning. Thankfully there was salt on the table. Now for the star of the show... the pickles!!! I'm the only real pickle eater and I thought they were really good... enough so that I bought a big container. It was a little odd because the pickles on my plate were different textures. My husband actually noted the same thing. We went back and got a Dr Pepper cake. When we got the order home we found that they had shorted us one teriyaki sauce and two desserts. Additionally the chicken katsu was hard as if it had been overcooked or sat in a warmer too long. The salmon was edible but not very enjoyable. The noodles were dry which is why we ordered an extra teriyaki sauce. We ended up throwing most of our food in the garbage. Our attempt to call the store was futile as the number on the website and the same number on the receipt goes to what sounds like Alfa Yarn Company, not to Teriyaki Madness. After the lunch rush there were only two occupied tables so I was seated immediately. The server led me to my seat, handed me a menu, and asked me what I wanted to drink. I chose water with lemon which was quickly brought along with chips and salsa. The salsa was flavorful and not too spicy. I ordered TexMex Enchiladas from the lunch section of the menu. My food was brought to the table surprisingly fast! The beans and enchiladas were hot. The rice was a little on the room temperature side but still warm enough not to complain. I finished my food pretty quickly and lingered a bit munching on chips and salsa. No complaints from the staff. I asked if they happened to have churros and they do! The server said that they come four churros to an order so I asked for an order for dessert. The churros took about 7 minutes or so to cook. They were served extremely hot since they just came out of the fryer. They were served on a plate arranged like a hashtag with five dollops of whipped cream. The plate was sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and drizzled with honey. Each churro was filled with a cream custard. They were very tasty! Total came to $22 with tip. Not too bad these days!

The floor was sticky and all tables filthy. Even though they only had two customers in the store and no one in the drive up line employees had time to just hang around and do nothing. The staff tends to have the deer in the headlights look all the time. It is like they are all brand new. They will make obvious mistakes and pretend it is correct. Too bad the food is good. Layne has been a favorite since the 1990s. Thanks for ruining it.
