This is a gem of a local beauty salon! Scheduling was very easy - all we had to do was make a single phone call to schedule. Parking is plentiful, and the entrance to the shop is right around the corner from customer parking. The owner, Anna Nellie, was lovely, and her shop is adorable. My daughter was really excited about her Brazilian blowout, and Anna did a really lovely job with it. By the end of her appointment, her hair was smooth and straight and beautiful! My father bought me $100 gift card to receive a massage from this place. There is no expiration date on the gift certificate and it's signed by the owner Nelly Ayala ...I called to make an appointment and she told me she would not honor it due to a change of location.. (her new location is still in Oxnard literally down the street from her old location). I kind of went back-and-forth with her because that's not right. I still have a gift certificate. My father still paid $100... which I'm sure she already spent....She should honor her clients when she takes money from them prior to the service...doesn't matter how old it is if there's no expiration date on it !!! I could understand if she wrote an expiration date on it but again there's no expiration date . And she signed it herself. Just because you moved from one building to another building doesn't mean you don't complete your services. this is completely unprofessional I will never recommend this place!!! After I was explaining to her there is no expiration date written on the gift certificate she then hung up on me. Do not go to this place obviously Nelly Ayala THE OWNER is a thief and unprofessional !!!! And if you go to her website you can also read other reviews that have similar stories. She didn't speak more than 5 words to me the entire time and rushed through everything as quickly as she could. I also had to wait an extra 30 upon arrival - which is fine, but she didn't even acknowledge it. I didn't say anything and I should have, but I didn't realize the extent of it until later. Instead of a smooth and silky result, my hair was completely frizzy and had some permanent weird waves in it that I was unable to smooth. DO NOT GET YOUR LASHES DONE came here about a week ago to have lash extensions done. I called to confirm that they were a good material of lash. So I proceeded. Upon leaving Bella Mar I noticed that they felt oddly rough and hard (I've had extensions for about a year now so I know the norm). I went home and washed and brushed them, only to find they didn't soften at all and stayed looking very unnatural. I was cooking this evening and opened my oven which was on VERY LOW HEAT ONLY TO FIND THAT IT CAUSED MY LASHES TO FRINGE AND FRAY AND BASICALLY MELT. Absolutely horrified in knowing that this whole time there was PLASTIC lashes on my eyes. MY EYES are SEVERELY irritated. I would definitely not recommend this place as a 250 degree oven melted and frayed my lashes just from grabbing something out. Many of them have fallen out as I just tried to brush them hoping they'd straighten ou After going in and speaking with the woman (Nellie) that did my lashes, she offered to compensate me a facial to make up for my horrible experience. Still would not recommend getting lashes done from here, but she did do her best to make it right. read more

My wife and I purchased a 60-minute massage and a 60-minute massage and facial, then scheduled them both for the same time We get there after several calls for directions (not helpful) and finally find it with its tiny sign in the window. We arrive and are the only ones there, yet they aren't ready and think we're going to do them one after the other, instead of at the same time. We then see that they have only one spa room with two massage tables with about a foot between them. There's clearly not room for the two of us plus the two massage therapists to be in there! Then they tell me the massage/facial was actually a facial and foot reflexology, which it clearly was not per the Groupon description. They say they'll make it work, but it's clear to us that this won't be a pleasant experience all crowded in there. Besides, they're the only two people working there. Who's going to run the store while they're treating us? Given all this, the vibe was not good and we cancelled and requested a refund. They told us that they redeemed our Groupons as soon as we walked in the door! So after communicating with Groupon the best they could offer was a refund in "Groupon bucks". Great, now I have to find something else worthwhile in Groupon, after this disaster. Needless to say, we don't recommend them. Maybe if it's for one person, it might be ok, but they're not equipped to do what they agreed to. read more
