I was really hoping this would be my pizza place and Italian take out. The Penne vodka was very bland. It needs far more salt, garlic, onion, and black pepper. Add oregano and maybe even a hint of red pepper. Use tomato paste for the best consistency and it's less expensive than fresh tomato or restaurant depots canned tomato sauce. Mix in some fresh Romano cheese. What I had just tasted like a plain basic red sauce with a dash of heavy cream. The pizza was too doughy--thick crust can be fine...but you have to cook the crust first, then put the sauce/cheese on it and throw it and it'll have a nice crisp. Or make it easy and make it the dough thinner. Finally, Key Lime Pie is one of my favorites...The crust was not good. Graham cracker crust is very easy to make--butter and crushed graham cracker. That type of pie should not have a flour based crust like an apple pie. The filling had way too much lime and sugar. Tone that down a lot and let the flavor of the condensed milk and cream shine through. Leave out whatever that white stuff was on top. I understand that fresh whip cream is impractical and wouldn't hold up too well in the pie fridge. It was maybe cool whip on top--just cut that out. All in all--there's still lot of potential here. The flavor profile needs to be tripled...triple the spices in each dish and get that bold Italian flavor customers love. Forgot the specials menus with 10 items on it...Focus on the dishes people love and order the most and perfect them. Good luck! Service was excellent! read more

From fire to flop-- Once upon a time, the garlic knots were buttery little bites of heaven and the slices actually had flavor. Fast forward to now: the prices are delusional, the pizza is bland beyond belief, and the knots? So dry I checked the box for a silica gel packet. I kept coming back, hoping for a comeback story--but no. It's not a fluke, it's a full-blown fall from grace. The only thing consistent now is the disappointment. Bella Maria is under new management and it is phenomenal! They had an open house on Sunday in which they offered a free buffet so that people could sample their food. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the food. Chef Roberto is amazing. The buffet included chicken francese, eggplant parm, chicken parm, rigatoni alla vodka, meatballs and salad. I've been having a hard time since moving here from Queens finding a good slice of pizza. They have a good tasting slice, just wish the crust was a bit thicker. Sauce is really good too. The girl that took my order was very nice. I came when the place was empty but most people are at work right now and I'm off. Would like to try their Sicilian next. Delicious, Fresh Italian food. We both thoroughly enjoyed all that we ordered. We had the Veal Sorrentino where the veal was very fresh & tender with the eggplant being very tasty. The other entree we ordered was Penne Ala Raffael, also a very tasty dish with the garlic & oil sautéed with broccoli & chicken served over al dente penne. We also ordered a cheese calzone which was very light & crispy & buffalo wings as an appetizer, also enjoyable. We ordered all this food to be delivered which came very fast with all the food being very hot. Overall, everything was delicious & we will definitely be ordering from Bella Maria again. This is a nice little pizza place in a strip mall near a movie theater. I got their food at the end of the day so please realize that when you read my review. The slices were also reheated by me in an outdoor forno venetzia pizza oven. I intend on going again midday to get a better picture of the restaurant. Got the end of day leftovers from Bella Maria and, with that in mind, was impressed. My staple pizza place is Colosseo in Port Jeff Station, but, I actually think this place does a better Sicilian slice. Based on what I ate, that is what this pizza place should market on. Sicilian was crispy and fluffy with a good helping of cheese and a nice sauce. The problem I find is that a lot of places' Sicilian slices are doughy and chewy. Not so here, so bravo. Also had a regular and pepperoni slices which were good, but nothing to write home about. Definitely good football pizza though. Tried a buffalo slice which had really good tasting chicken but no real buffalo flavor. I think if the buffalo flavor was a little more pronounced it would have been very enjoyable. However, it was still a good slice. The restaurant is under new management and it appears to have the building blocks to be really good. Maybe I will have more good things to say when I try them again with fresher food. In any event, I wish the new management the best of luck as you always want your local places to succeed. Been a while since I've been here. I like the location and now I found out they are under new ownership but I figured why not give them a try. I wound up getting a chicken parm hero and a bottle of root beer for $15+. The quality of the chicken was decent but a little skimpy. The sauce was kind of average. Definitely enough cheese though. $3 for a 20-24oz bottle? Ouch. I tried ordering from one app that showed lunch specials for them but it didn't work so I went directly through Yelp. I've never been here before. This was the closest plce there was, so I decided what the heck. I ordered to pick up, I asked for a cesar salad with onions. They asked, red or white? I chose white. I ordered a plain pizza as well with garlic knots. All of that came out to be $32.00. Well, lets begin... I get home excited for this onion filled salad. Well, they forgot to put it on. Perfect. Unless it just walked off the plate somehow. Also, I never been to a pizza joint, which btw I go to many and order this, thay they put the dressin on there FOR you. They needa change that. By the time I got home it was soggy. And WAY too much dressing for my liking. The pizza was disgusting. Not what I classify as go-to pizza. So all in all, I was extremely disappointed. Different owners for sure now. But the vibe is the same and the dinning room still looks familiar which was pretty standard back in the day. 5 stars for nostalgia. I ordered a plain slice to eat on the fly and it was pretty good. On the "thinner crust" side rather than a thicker crust and pretty well balanced as far as thickness to sauce to cheese ratio. I didn't hate it and i would go back again easily. Maybe try a hero next time. read more

Under new ownership. My husband has tried the pizza, and enjoyed it, so we decided to have dinner here. The specials board outside said chicken cordon bleu, which is a favorite of my husband's. We sat in the empty restaurant in the back. It was a good 10 minutes before someone appeared with a menu, and another 10 minutes before a server asked for our drink order. By this time, 3 other tables were seated, including one of 8 people, and it was clear they were understaffed with 1 server. We were served a bread & butter basket. My husband ordered the chicken cordon bleu, and the server told him they didn't have any. That was a huge disappointment for him. He ended up ordering veal parmagiana. I ordered the chicken rollatini. Both dinners came with either a salad or pasta, I chose the salad, which was very good, with olives and roasted peppers. My husband's veal was a decent portion, veal was a little thick and tough. My chicken rollatini was on the bland side, the gravy was loaded with onions and mushrooms. The real disappointment was the dinners did not come with a vegetable or potato - just a plate of meat. The server was sweet and did the best she could under the circumstances of being by herself. Also, the Margarita pizza is outstanding, and my wife loved the white pizza. I know the owners are new, and even though this was my first visit- I have to give them 5 stars! Have been frequently ordering from this place at least once every 2 weeks since every other pizzeria around the area has seemed to taken a nose dive and this place had some consistently decently good food. This all changed last night when I ordered a pie and me and my fiancé both got food poisoning. Called to let the staff know and see if they would refund the pie, lady on phone proceeded to basically tell me I was lying and that no other phone calls were made expressing what my concerns were. I explained I've been in the food industry for 13 years and it may not have been the sauce or cheese but cross contamination is a real thing. She offered me a free pie and I declined as we are both sick from last nights pie, she than told me she would not refund me since I expressed I would not be ordering from them again. I did not want to write this review but based off the attitude I received from what I presume is either the owner or manager I honestly feel the word needs to be spread. I have been coming here for years. I have seen and have read some of the reviews and I feel bad about their experiences. The owner, Enrico, has been nothing but kind to me, my children, my wife, my brothers and their families, my friends, & especially my grandmother. He always asks for her and wants to know how she is doing. Recently I purchased a pizza kit. Anthony, who is also in front, was awesome in getting it together for me so my family can make our own pizzas at home. We love their pizza, but I being a vegan can't have any animal products. I put on my own topping with the dough and "THAT SAUCE" from them and put on my own toppings. HEAVENLY! We will be doing this again. Order from this place for the past 12-15 years, sometimes good sometimes not so good, but with that said I need to vent....last two times we ordered we had enough issue to complain and call once order was received and we actually started to eat. This last time was enough to make me post, specifically ordered garlic bread with cheese ( made sure to say with cheese) and Rigatoni Ala Vodka, (specifically asking for chicken) as per menu.....neither came as ordered, (as well as no plain bread/focaccia) that comes regularly with entrees....when we called, they did offer to send the missing ingredients, but as story goes....a day to late.....just want to understand why it is so difficult to get what we are paying for? At $50 not exactly a bargain meal. Not a satisfactory experience. Need to look for a new delivery for Italian food?? Disappointed. Well they screwed us again, haven't ordered from here since June 2019 broke down and made the sorry mistake of giving them yet another try..... $58.09 for three pasta dinners and a salad, Called order in at 6:05 and had to call back at 7:42 to see if they forgot us, was told by the owner Enrico "we are packing it up now your next", at 8:10 they arrived, cold, pasta choices were wrong, not what we ordered, and no salad. The broccoli rabe pasta dish we asked to omit sausage and add chicken, which they did and charged extra making it $17.95 for this dish. When we called we were told they were "very busy" to which is really not something a paying customer wants to hear especially on a work night. They offered to send the salad, but to be honest, after complaining as we did I was not feeling very confident that the salad would arrive untainted. We are done ordering from here anymore, and I will be disputing this on my card. P.S. at 8:35 we got a knock on the door and it was a very polite delivery man, with the salad, that we told Enrico we no longer wanted. He asked what had happened and we explained to him the above story and told him to take back the salad and that we would no longer be ordering from Bella Maria. I recently placed an order from Bella Maria's web site and was happy to find curbside pickup as an option, as I do not want to go in to stores at this time. I placed the order, and arrived at the curbside, approximately 20 feet from their front door. I called as instructed by the web site, and was told that they do not do curbside pickup. The man said that he did not have time. He did, however, have three minutes to explain that they "don't do that no more." I was unable to go in, and he refused to bring my order out. Had he elected to bring my order to my car, he would have spent less time and not lost a customer, as I will never patronize that restaurant again. read more

Tonight is the first time we have ordered since it is under new ownership, and I must say what an improvement over the last owners, they actually act like they want your business. These people are very nice and didn't act like your putting them out by picking up a pizza. Last people were rude and nasty so we stopped giving them our business.
